What is your favorite band/ type of music.
I mainly like classic-rock. My favorite bands are The Beatles, Queen, "Weird Al", and The Fratellis. If anyone likes rock music I highly recommend The Fratellis. They are an amazing band that is fairly unknown.
-
Dubstep
-
Rock
-
Hip Hop
-
I'm not a huge fan of dubstep.
-
Oh. I love it.
-
I wub to Dub
I enjoy rap, dubstep and i little bit of rock.
-
For some reason, dubstep kinda hurts my head.
-
Oh, also I've found myself saying "Every day I'm shufflin'" while I'm shuffling my cards.
-
I enjoy a range of music, really just depends on the mood I am in. Jack Johnson and The National are great to relax to. When I snowboard I generally electronic music and a bit of dubstep, just to get into the mood. When I am just doing my normal day to day stuff I tend to listen to lots of remix and music that is upvoted on a website called Hype Machine.
Some bands I like
Deadmau5
The XX
Chromeo
Calvin Harris
Dragonette
Daft Punk
Justice
p.s. Evan, no need to make 3 consecutive 1 word posts...
-
Ya, out of my circle of like 5 very close friends i'm the only one who listens to dubstep because it hurts the others heads, its something you either love or hate, their is no in between.
Also im glad im not the only one who thinks that every now and then.
-
Daft Punk is pretty good.
-
rock and dubstep for me.
i saw skrillex this summer and it was CRAZY. one of the craziest concerts ive ever been to, and ive seen slipknot live a few times, so thats saying something
has anyone heard the new chevelle single?? its great
-
I like some hip hop. Also swing music is great to dance to. salsa is fun to dance with people from hispinic areas.
-
A lot of alternative rock, techno/electronica, and classical. In terms of artists I would say Lady Gaga is a main one.
-
ahhh good old lady gaga. interesting music to say the least.
-
Haha she's really awesome. Some of her songs are really incredible on more than a pop level.
-
I love every songs of Simple plan!

yea. nice music. but kinda weird.
-
I don't know why, but I hate Lady GaGa.
-
Well I guess it takes a specific kinda person to love her haha
-
I liked her piano singer/songwriter stuff from the 90s. I think her writing got a bit lazy when she could afford the big productions.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM51qOpwcIM
-
Yes her music is only for certain people.
-
I can agree with that
-
so another great genre is Irish pub. when drunk people sing i can dance to that. :)

Look up "Whose Line Is it Anyway?" Irish drinking song on YouTube. It us a bunch of improv stars such as Wayne Brady, Drew Carey, and Ryan Stiles making an improv drinking song about a given topic. They're quite hilarious.
-
I'm down with anything but country. Mainly metal and rap. Slipknot and Lil Wayne!
-
yes whose line is great
-
For a while it was my favorite show, but since it started coming on at midnight, I haven't watched it recently
-

YEAH! another slipknot fan! i have to ask though are u from iowa?
-
For some reason, I'm a hipster when it comes to music. I don't like new music, and a lot of the bands I like, no one knows of. It's not intentional, but it just happens.
-
remember there is nothing new under the sun. usually "new" bands just copy the sound of older bands.
-
Yah, I know, but for some reason I just prefer music from the 70's - 90's when they didn't have to censor every other word.
-
Bands dont need to swear to be good. look at the chili peppers.
-

Exactly! More examples are The Beatles, Nirvana, Queen, Kiss, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, and Twisted Sister to name a few more.
-
yes older music is better to enjoy.
-
remember there is nothing new under the sun. usually "new" bands just copy the sound of older bands.
That's completely untrue. Somewhere, someone is making a sound nobody has ever heard before, at all times. Sometimes (but not very often any more), it's me.
-

That's what I like to call Dubstep :P
-
90% of popular Dubstep is samples and pre-sets made by other people; I dunno how they can even copyright mthe stuff. It isn't inventive.

it isn't untrue at all. music just makes its cycles. when you hear something that is completely new and never been remotely done before please let me know
-
Well, I haven't been keeping tabs on the experimental scene a whole lot lately but from the last few years, there's things like Aphex Twin, Merzbow and Múm. Even Radiohead created a bunch of new sounds, maybe not so much on King of Limbs but undeniably for Kid A and that was only 11 years ago in the many thousands of year old art of music. There's never been a point in history where music hasn't progressed in some way. You could say that it's all melody, rythem, harmony etc. but then all you're really saying is that music is music (and there's lots of it that dispenses with some or all of those things).
-
Music right now is just a phase. Eventually it will change.
-
I mainly hear Rock, but also many other things.
I like Bands like Linkin Park, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, System of a Down and many others.

All of those bands are on my iPod. They are all amazing in their own way. Also, my youth group leader looks exactly like the lead singer fom "System of a Down".

Serj Tankian is awesome. I love to listen to System of a Down when I go snowboarding and randomly on occasion. A lot of their songs are quite good, really gets you pumped up.
Some randoms songs I have started to like
Virgin - Manchester Orchestra
Halloween - Marylin Manson
I don't usually listen to these guys that much but some songs just sounds pretty cool
-
SOAD are a great band with some interesting stuff for sure... well, their last 2 albums were really hit and miss IMO but I love their first 2 (not counting Steal This Album, it wasn't great but had some good stuff).
-
I know I've said this before, but if you like rock, listen to "The Fratellis". I reccommend their songs "Chelsea Dagger",
"For the Girl", and "Country Boys and City Girls".

I'm glad you like it. That song is what got me into their band. You can buy their album "Costello Music" on iTunes for $9.99. Every song on their album is great!

Sounds like Fruity Loops to me? The production's a bit ropey in places IMO and it's really not my kind of music but I think he does have some really good ideas in there. If he's only 17, too, he's doing very well for himself.
-
Used to Like SOAD, then Pendulum, then Dubstep, now mostly just bass that feels good.
-
i too am a huge fan of classic rock... but i love what glee does with music
-
Tom Waits is coming out with a new album later this year. Puscifer just released a new one...!!!
-
Tom Waits for no man.
Yeah, he's awesome; that live album a while back was mind-blowing.
-
You speak of Glitter and Doom? His new one is amazing!!! I have it already, called Bad As Me. Do yourself a favor and get it.
-
I will do
extra bit to make 10 characters, ignore it
-
Lol. May I suggest Mediafire? And also check out a site called mp3crank.com....good stuff awaits.
-
IF I wanted to illegally download things (which I never do, not once, ever. Nope.). IF I did...
I have much more efficient methods.
-
Ok ok...to each his own. Just trying to help and getting slapped for it lol
-
The Script at the moment, but who knows come tomorrow
-
Watch The Throne is actually pretty good
-
Alright, now I'm wondering what songs get stuck it your head most often. For me it's "Our House" and "Come on Eileen".
-
All For Leyna has been on mental repeat for a few days now.
-
Grateful Dead, Mississppi John Hurt, John, Paul, George and Ringo, Bob Dylan and soooooooo much more.

By John, Paul, George, and Ringo are you talking about their solo Careers, or The Beatles in general.
-
Hip Hop!!! :)
-
hip hop and dub pretty much. more hip hop than dub tho. i like to listen to hip hop instrumentals when flourishing.
-
I like to listen to music rather loud, but unfortunately my iPod dock has broken, and my laptop has quite poor speakers, which leaves me with the few CD's in my collection. Currently listen to SOAD, Linkin Park, Green Day, the Killers, and of course, the Pokemon soundtrack that I got when I was four... I play that last one more than I like to admit. :-X
-

Don't worry. I do the same :)

2) Drum Corps International
3) Maynard Ferguson
4) Red Hot Chili Peppers

I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers. There sound is so different then everything else out there.

It is very unique! It tends to be very clean most of the time in my opinion. This is a big difference then some of the music i listen to which utilized distortion way to much.

Heres some awesome songs that my brother makes! http://soundcloud.com/jz1805
