Its kind of a neat trick but I can't find out why its 45 dollars. Looks like a trick that should be $4 on Penguin Magic.

Good God, the posts in this topic are long. Any news on what will happen during the remainder of the campaign since no more decks will be sold?

What is the bankroll edition and why is it 100 dollars? I thought there was only the standard and heat editions?

It's the black/red not for sale deck. Looks very sharp and will be rarer than the others. I have no idea why CPC put it up for a honeybee though.

Jason posted a pic of it on the top of page 2 of this thread.

Yeah, I thought the picture looked familiar. Do we know why it was printed if its not for sale? Will they be prizes for contests or something? Also, how did Collectible Playing Cards get some to sell if they can't be purchased?

The marking system is devious to say the least.  ;D Drop LPCC an e-mail and they should be able to help you out.

So the only way to learn it is to email them? Did they say that anywhere?

I appreciate you moving my post, Don. I wasn't sure if there was already a topic for this deck and didn't find anything from searching.

Im familiar with the riffle test, you have mentioned it many times. But I was mostly asking because I wanted to know if I missed any sort of information LPCC sent out.

For the person who asked where I live, Northeastern Indiana. I think I actually received them on Tuesday, the fourth.

I got my Sharp decks today. Does anyone know how to learn the marking system? Was I supposed to get an email or discover it for myself?

Playing Card Plethora / Re: EXCLUSIVE First Look: 52 Plus Joker Club Deck
« on: October 23, 2014, 04:42:40 PM »
People have been emailing me asking if they join the 52 Plus right now, can they purchase the silver edition club deck? The answer is YES!

Keep in mind, with your membership you also get:
  • Digital access to the CLEAR THE DECKS via Ask Alexander.
  • Access to the hidden 52+ section here on the PCF.
  • The ability to have some of your best decks appraised by club experts.
  • Plus much more...
Treat yourself, you deserve it! Join right now, and purchase deck(s) today.

I tried joining a couple days ago when the video with Jackson and Bill was posted but I got a message saying I had to be approved by an administrator before I can become a member. I haven't heard anything since then so I'm not sure how to purchase the deck.

Yes, I'd also like to say that Jonathan has gotten in touch with me and everything is now going smoothly. As far as his reputation as a seller goes, do not be afraid to buy from him.

35
I made an agreement with Jonathan to purchase some cards, totaling around 200 dollars. He said he would ship them out on Wednesday September 3rd and as of today, October 3rd, I haven't received anything. Over the past week, I have sent an email and a text message but haven't heard anything. I understand if a personal issue came up, but I would at least like to be aware of it. Also, I believe he lives in New York and I live in Indiana so I don't think shipping would take this long. Just thought you all should be kept in the loop.

The back design and box do look nice but that joker hanging out of the black box looks like it got rained on. Hopefully the whole deck doesn't look that way.

Michael does a very good job on his restorations. The Triplicates are awesome. I think the Maugers will be amazing. Just a friendly reminder, only a few hours left on this campaign. About five and a half as I post this. :)
Thanks so much for the reminder. I somehow missed this project entirely but I'm glad I got my pledge in.

What is the contest? Some sort of lottery if you preorder?

Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Re: Wizard Wars
« on: August 20, 2014, 07:16:14 PM »
Did anyone catch Wizard Wars on SyFy last night?  I felt like Ekaterina Dobrokhotova and Chris Funk were robbed!  I don't understand picking pockets being equated to Magic.  The Wizards, Gregory Wilson and Justin Flom basically showed us some pick pocketing and misdirection. I do not know either of them, they may be very good Magicians but I wasn't impressed by their showing on Wizard Wars.  It was way cooler to see Ekaterina Dobrokhotova  produce the sunglasses through the board and for Chris Funk to produce a foil from an audience member's purse.  WAY more Magical. Perhaps I am not the target audience.  I have never been impressed by pick pocketing or the card cheating type of Magic.  Yes, it takes skill, however the end game is to rob someone.  I want to be fooled by Magic and have some unsolved mystery to ponder.  Any thoughts?

In my opinion, that's a pretty shallow way to look at the performances. They weren't performing street magic, it wasn't just about the "wow factor" and the judges knew that. As has been stated already, Gregory Wilson and Justin Flom are very popular magicians and, again just my opinion, did a better job at creating a cohesive narrative and were more engaging with the audience.

Ah, I understand your aim better now. I'm wondering if you've thought of the back design yet? Will it be black as well?

I love the sketch but I don't know how I feel about the black background. Also, why the two clubs on the index?

I think it's a shame the courts repeat, just like the rest of you, but not because the design is lazy. If you were to show me just one king, queen, and jack I'd say the deck looked awesome. The deck had the potential to be really awesome but kind of fell flat.

Hey guys, a friend of mine is going to school for graphic design and she knows I love playing cards so she thought she might try and design some. I quite like what she did and said I'd show you all and ask for feedback/suggestions. She's going for a "sleek, clean" look.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Peafowl Playing Cards

I think the courts are a little harsh on the eyes and don't love the fact that the red kings have no red on them other than the indices.

Do we know what the backs look like? If this is a peacock inspired deck it'd be cool if the back design was designed like a peacocks tail feathers. When you fanned the cards it'd look just like a peacock spreading it's tail. The motions and shape are pretty similar.

I love how burly he looks, but I'm not sure if I like that his shirt, beard, and stocking cap are all the same color red.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: First We Saw Cards That LOOK Like Money...
« on: January 18, 2014, 12:39:09 PM »
After reading the title of the topic I thought I was going to see new cards that SMELL like money. Or FEEL like money.

47
I think it should be noted that the suits on the indices look AWFUL. There is no way in hell you could play a game with this deck. Basically pointless if you plan to use it for anything.

Would be very difficult to play games or do magic with. Not seeing the target market here. People who like binary numbers?

49
I really dislike it.
1) the court cards have too much negative space in the non-indices corners. It looks blank and empty.
2) the card backs look...almost muddy. Not sure how to explain it, but it looks like they had a nice design and then made every line twice as thick as it should be.
3) the pips are alright.

Sucks I missed these. Anyone buy a bunch and maybe want to to sell me one?

Handmade or regular?

Mine shipped this morning. Dang that's a long time. But if it was because of weather issues, I guess there isn't a lot they could do.
