2014 Deck of the year yes.  Should have Jackson Robinson Got it?  Really are you asking me that.  He Is my fav designer.  I love this Deck and it was from an amazing designer but I can't betray Jackson,  He is the greatest Playing Card designer!!  Sorry JMO.  But am I super stoked that I have all four decks, the compete set in my collection??  HELLLLLLL YAAAAA!!

It was UC's 2014 deck, but here the "Deck of the Year 2014" was a tie between Aquila and Origins.  The topic's still there if you want to check out all the award winners.  CARD CULTURE Magazine did a feature on all of them in last month's issue.

I'm not sure who won their 2014 contest.

Sorry Don I did not specify no offence intended.

WOW ya keep us posted. For us newbies
BC deck preview anyone?

You're right - Lion's Den Casino from Ellusionist.

Still debating whether I want to renew.  A lot of the decks last year were hit or miss for me.

I want to take a second to remind everyone that you should list a deck only when it is either available at retail or being fulfilled and shipping from the KS project creator or their fulfillment service.  No pre-sales.  No "it's shipping soon."  The reason is two-fold.

First, I'm making sure that only those decks actually on the market get listed and only when they arrive.  Who knows?  Some natural or man-made disaster could keep a deck from reaching its recipients, or a KS project could turn out to be a scam and no one gets their decks.

Second, I'm working out a rough chronology of when these decks are released.  I won't have exact dates often, except perhaps for commercial releases from the bigger companies and the printers.  But having a ballpark figure is close enough.

Well it looks like Gambler's Warehouse is ripping off my design.  Well sort of (they are stealing the image of my product).  they are using a laser cutting  system (leaves major lines) mechanical flame polishing (crap, substandard polishing).  Sorry but there is no substitute for hand polishing, but big companies can only compete with price not quality.  A US craftsman doing it by hand cant compete with the price but the quality cant be touched.  These guys are ripping off my design with crap and offering it on ebay. Well let them sell a few and then they are done LOL.

Just wondering, do you have a website? Can anyone purchase from you? I mean, I see you posting everywhere about others ripping off your design and that what they are selling is crap, but how can someone order your products?

I was wondering if you designed the Lucite cases for Ellusionist? I think it only held 1 deck. It was something they did special with a Signed Scarlet Rounder I believe. Someone else here will know for sure, but I think it was about a year ago. I just remember it looking very similar to yours.

No I did not design for Ellusionist theirs is ok but, my cases are not even close to theirs. My single deck is much more compact then theirs and I designed cases to hold 1,2,3,4,5,6,8 decks plus some custom cases.  They have a nice router finished edge on theirs but all mine have a hand polished edge.

ATM I'm just selling on Ebay. MSDT165.  Sorry to get so bent out of shape about this but would any other craftsman be upset if someone hijacked their design?  Jackson and I could not come to an agreement soooo OK, but it does not make it ok for someone to seal a craftsman's design?

The TRUE total collection of the federal 52 series.  This set that I have includes all 10 decks, all four coins and all 8 poker chips. ( yep all 8 that is 3 more than you have lol, this includes the three that have not been released) in a custom authorized Lucite case. Take a look and wipe the drool from your chin.

Glad to make your acquaintance, Ben.  Welcome to the Discourse and to PCF.

Please, if you have any questions, just ask - don't hesitate out of fear, uncertainty, etc.  We were ALL newbies once, so we understand.  You'll find that the people here are generally friendly and helpful!

So, your collection - modern decks, vintage decks or a mix of both?

Mostly have modern decks, only a few vintage ones but I pick them up when I find one that I like and have the $ at the same time LOL

Hi, I'm Ben I am from Colorado and I am a collector of playing cards.  I have been collecting for years but just off and on it was not until recently that I dumped a large portion of my collection that was just taking up space and am now focusing on just artwork that I like.  I have several really nice sets but my all time fav designer has got to be hands down Jackson Robinson.

I found this forum by following Jackson and decided to join it.

Great to meet everyone and look forward to talking to you all.

Thanks
Ben

PS: why do all the measurements end in either 3/16 or 11/16 of an inch?

The Lucite is cut to size, then Hours and I mean HOURS are put into each case, routing, sanding, sanding some more, then sanding some more, and then more sanding, then polishing- and if it is not just right back to the sanding and more polishing, to get the quality expected from Kings Wild.
