The tuck for contraband was teased on Exposé this past Friday. As attached, Its absolutely beautiful. It might be their best tuck box to date.

I get about as far as "Contra-" before the rest of the word becomes to complicated to see clearly!

Why oh why did they choose the day before V-Day for this?  Don't they know a guy's gotta treat his lady to a good time!?

(I'm actually looking forward to these - they do look pretty cool.)

Strangely the word "contraband" on Fes's photo is a more ornate design then what I saw on a previous instagram photo. Not sure what this is a photo of, if nothing more then an artistic printing plate teaser.

I'm also looking forward to these.

It does seem like they are stringing this alone, doesn't it? lol We still have not seen the back design or courts for that matter. Should we be concerned?

The ace's look great and the jokers are what you would expect from a deck like this. However, I don't buy decks for jokers, I wish producers in general would stop teasing them.

Only one day away. JB, give us the meat and potatoes!

I think someone spilled the Latin dictionary on it...

Cerca trova...carpe noceto...carpe diem...it's been a while since the "mysteries of things written in Latin" impressed me that much.  It's pretty, it's intricate - but why so much Latin?  Would've been better without the clichés.

So, I shall wave my magic wand and utter in a deep and reverent tone, "Pone agerentur suem toga et rutrum, est adhuc sus."

From the Latin, that reads "Put an evening gown and makeup on a pig, it is still a pig."

I'll admit my interest in this deck dropped in dramatic fashion when I saw the card back had so much Latin. I'll still pick up a couple, probably. I don't know really. That's a pretty wind out of my sails move there for me. I don't think it's necessary at all and I do quite honestly believe it takes away from the deck.

If Theory 11 people ever take the time to read this, please don't do the texty text bits on the card backs. It's cute in theory, it's not in execution. Still this is better than a certain casino deck that was recently released.

Ah well, my focus is going back to De`vo's next deck. It's only a month away.  :D

I'm fine with the back design. The designer could be of latin descent although made in America. The ace's remind me of the days of the Spanish Armada (1500's). I just think this deck is absolutely beautiful as a whole. Would not be surprised if these like Tycoon, use the standard Fournier court cards. It's all good!

We'll find out at 3pm EST today. It'll be good to see more of the deck.

The compass, the key-hole, Latin and maybe are more details too...It looks like a Vatican style :)

Yep. I was not expecting that. I thought it was an additional limited deck. Rethinking it, that's not the theory11 way. Very Cool!

The courts look subtle enough for all card users. This is an instant Theory11 classic.

I almost ordered some, then I stopped. I may order one still. The tuck and the aces are nice. I'm not a huge fan of all the Latin on the card back but the one thing that's getting to me more than anything else... those courts. I get it, the courts are looking the other way so to speak. I just don't dig on them, I wish I did. I'm not in the habit of a tuck box collection.

To be completely honest, I think the teasers all slow rolled for so long had built this deck up so much in my mind. The anticipation so great, those courts and card back have sapped it. The coolest thing to me now, is that book do hickey haha. That's pretty slick really.

I love that lamp, but shipping to Europe, for let's say 6-8 decks and the lamp, with 4 decks, to make a brick, is almost 100$. And $ is increased in the last 3 months with about 20%.

Maybe I will order just a few decks, but that lamp is so nice, but 110$...

It's not that bad, Donny Downer. I carpe'd 2 decks.
I like to call paper coatings a finish. It makes Don happy.

I never said it was bad.  I just said it was excessively Latin, at a time when being excessively Latin is a bit cliché.

I'm probably due for a trip to the T11 store.  Just as soon as I finish buying a car...

Just received my 2 decks and to be honest I was a bit disappointed.

The details on the backs and aces look muddled. And Im not a fan of the 3d effect on the pips.

A lot of people aren't happy with this deck. It's plain to see why. I despise those pips! Doesn't look like the lattice on the rank indicators did not come off as intended and it looks horrible next to that frame on the courts where the lattice came out clearly. Is it printing error, is it design error, is it a nice mix of both? Most likely the latter. This makes for a sad Fes.  :(

I still say those Spades in the banners around the globes are upside-down compared to the Hearts and Clubs.  I don't know if it's by choice, but it bothers me either way.
