Awesome contest Rob, and nice throw in Jackson!  Since the contest is for some of Jackson's decks, the card should probably be picked from a Jackson deck.

9 of Diamonds randomly drawn.

I see it in a different spot.  Starting at the center diamond go up (or down) until you see what looks like two red horns.  The color surrounding the horns is different.  Looking at this picture, the top horns are in more of a yellowish color, while the bottom horns are in more of an orange color.

+1 for Marcus.  Great transaction.  Fantastic prices!  Reasonable shipping (coming from Sweden to US).  All packaged safe and sound.

My haul today.  Thanks to Marcus!  Highly recommend.  Great prices and very reasonable shipping.

When I saw the courts, I immediately thought of the Radical 80s deck.  Sure enough, when I clicked on the preview I saw Ari's name.  I have to admit that I liked the Radical 80s deck and I like these too.  There is a cheesy factor that seems to appeal to me.  Plus Ari delivered on time, even ahead of schedule if I remember correctly, on the Radical 80s deck.

For a moment, I thought this was the store bought by USPC, but then I remembered that one is called the "Gambler's General Store" instead.

EDIT: though strangely enough, their websites actually have a few design elements in common...specific things that you wouldn't expect two different stores to have appear identical...

From Gambler's Warehouse on Facebook:

"Hey everyone! We have recently expanded from a simple retail store into a warehouse with our offices based in Dallas, Texas - We now have the ability to serve a larger customer base. Please bear with us as we make the transition from Gambler's General Store to the new Gambler's Warehouse!"

So, not as strange as you thought.

Most uncuts are sold out as only about 100 were produced. The griffin and speakeasy are the only ones available

Yeah, I was distracted as I was typing the previous post and should've pointed that out.  However any future decks that come out will probably have the corresponding uncut as well and if you're quick enough you should get one.

Forget about QPC.  From the comments section, by the project creator:  "I'll be posting an update later today with information on the switch of printers over to Expert Playing Card Company. We are going to be partnering with Expert Playing Card Co. and the Conjuring Arts Research Center to make sure this is the highest quality deck and printed in an attractive limited edition! I hope you will continue to support the project, thank you!"

Not sure where you're seeing both Black and Red as unlimited.  The Red says unlimited, but the Black says that it is a small run, like Daniel always does, but this time he's not keeping them for himself.  That, to me, does not sound unlimited, just more available than the Red Rounders.

The Conversation Parlor / New Forum Section Coming?
« on: January 13, 2014, 04:34:23 PM »
Just wondering if there is a new section coming for the Forum - 'The Source - Card Collecting 101'?  The only reason I ask is because the Bee Back Catalog topic formerly in the Cellar section looks like it was supposed to be moved there and because the new section doesn't exist yet, the topic is no longer accessible.

They have to have a lot of less than $10 value decks to make a profit.

This is only true if the current value of these decks is what they paid to acquire them.  I suspect that in most cases, certainly the case for their own decks, they paid significantly less than what they are worth now.  As long as they acquired most of these decks for less than $10, they are still making a profit.  Just not nearly as much as they could.

Wow, I backed 4 on that late list.  I do think two of them will ship soon (King of Kings and Venexiana).  Not holding my breath on the other two (Founders and Mustache).  Won't be backing any of David's projects ever again, as most people shouldn't, since he's been late on multiple projects now. Very disappointing to see one person responsible for three of the decks on the list - Alex Willis.

Well I got my Espionage decks in.  I like the custom courts a lot, but the backs and the tuck are just too dark.  That and they messed up the cellophane.  The cellophane opens at the top of the box like any other Bicycle deck, but since this deck is a side open tuck, the cellophane should've opened at the side, like the Exquisite Deck from CARC.  Because of this, you have to take the cellophane completely off.  Not a big deal for those of you that already do this when you open a deck.  But I, and I know a few others, prefer to keep the cellophane on.  Still, a nice deck for Club 808 members especially at the 25% off Black Friday deal.

I assume I must send an email as well then. Could you post the email in which you contacted or message it to me? Thanks very much.

From their website, after I login, I select "My Account" which brings up the Account Menu page.  From there I just selected "Contact Us" and filled out the form.

Got my 2nd Red deck from them today.  Quick turn around.  Very impressed.

Got my Exquisites (along with 2 Black Legends) and I love 'em, however I ordered the 6 pack (5 Blue, 1 Red) plus an additional Red but only received the 6 pack.  I'm missing the 2nd Red.  I sent them an email.  Hopefully they respond quickly and take care of it.
Let me know what their response is though.

Just got an email from them saying they will be sending one out to me right away.

I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere, but the deck I opened is the same flyers, one Joker and one blank.

Thanks Sparkz.

Got my 2 today and I just want to make sure of something.  The one deck I opened had one Joker and one Blank.  Is this expected?  I know my V1's have two Jokers.

Anyway, the cards look and feel very good.  I find them very similar to the legends.  I like the look of the side-open tuck case, but I've noticed I have a harder time getting the cards back in the tuck.  Probably just my lack of coordination, but it can be frustrating.

They also seem to have a one way back. The cross/club shape in the center angles different ways on each side of the card.

Good find, though its subtle enough for me.  Also it looks like the 2 diamond shapes just above/below the center with lines running through them are different.  One has the lines all the way to the points, the other the lines stop before the points.

Introduce Yourself / Re: How did you find PlayingCardForum?

Google Search. Backed my 1st Kickstarter card project last year around this time (Allure) and wanted to start collecting.  I then wondered if there were forums out there talking about playing cards. Found this place and UC.  This place has provided tons of information to help guide my collecting.

Everything's working now. The deck is out and the discount is up.

For about a minute I could add decks to my cart and they were only charging me shipping. The decks came up as $0.00. Did anyone else get this?

I had this, but I got greedy trying to add as many decks as I could.  By the time I added my 10th item it had corrected itself.  I knew I should've hit checkout ;D
