Alex, I think everyone is so hyped because its a NON-USPCC deck, that David Blaine is producing, along with Bill, two people who don't put their names on just any deck. From the reviews I've heard from this company (ex. Russell from CCC) says these cards are immaculate and surpass USPCC.

I'm excited because everyone always says that the USPCC is as good as it gets, and with the release of this deck; there will be some new (much needed) competition over the playing card industry.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: NEW DECK- Blue LTD. Deck?

Just looks like a regular LTD in weird light.

But if you compare it to the Red LTD deck on the table, you can tell its completely different color.

So 350 bucks to get this deck free?  Somehow I dont think too many people will be getting these. Its hard spending that much on their site, especially with no new decks.

Sanguine? Azure? Curator?

That is just for HOPC, which doesn't count for the TBC promotion.

I'm 97.386% sure this is that final deck of the series.

Probably a borderless deck, with big bold colors going off the edges, to make fans look dramatic. I'm curious if they are making the faces something new, like not even bothering to do pips but instead making it purely look good while flourishing.

I see what you did there  ;D

I have a feeling that t11 will be releasing the uncut sheets that they talked about a few months back (Jaqk, Titanium, etc.).

No real reason, just a hunch.

60
Alright, this got confusing quickly.

When Don said "chain store" he meant a store that sells chains (gold chain, silver chain, etc.), and he is saying if it specifically sells chains, the chances are slimmer that they'd carry the casing.

He was not referring to a "chain store" as a store with multiple franchises (McDonalds, Walmart, etc.)

Now there are some chain store chain stores, but that's a whole different story :P

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Gold infinity deck by Ellusionist

Oh damn. Would the buyer of the uncut pls stand up.

For a moment I thought JB was Jonathan Bayme.

Sorry man, I call them both JB (along with James Bond, Justin Bieber, Jack Black, Jonas Brothers, and Jason Bourne).

From what I remember, the gold on the infinity card wasn't attractive. If I recall it was a "spicy-mustard yellow" (if you get what I'm saying). I much prefer the look of the Infinity decks that are available on the site.

I talked to JB about it. It was a concept design, that they never went forward with. I had a picture of it, but I believe I lost it when my phone got wiped.

Sadly, I'll be in school during this, but hopefully I can still order. (if there's something I like)
They said be there for the first 48hrs, so I doubt anything will be too limited.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Smoke and Mirrors v7
« on: November 12, 2012, 02:32:15 PM »
Quoted from an email:

"We never imagined the Smoke and Mirrors playing cards would become so widely used and collected, let alone the possibility of a 7th edition. Thank you. It's been an amazing journey for us and an honor to see them used by the very best magicians and cardists all over the world.

Developing the Smoke & Mirrors has been our passion for the last six years. We've put our heart and soul into every detail and are extremely proud of them. With each new edition, we feel we've set a new standard, and this would not have been possible without your support.

The final edition, the v7, is without a doubt the most exceptional deck we've ever produced and an epic finale to an amazing chapter in our life. We've been working on it for over a year now and went as far as having new artwork produced by Si Scott exclusively for this release. The result is amazing and we can't wait for you to see them.

Today we are traveling over 2,000 miles, from California to Kentucky, to visit the US Playing Card Company where we will witness the v7's go to print. We've never done this before, and are excited for the trip. It's the ultimate level of attention.

As you can imagine, some very exciting teasers are coming."

Here is the photo that Don is talking about. It is a close up of what looks to be a tuck box. You can see an embossed "I"

Umm.... I don't know what you see in that, but that's clearly the Dan and Dave logo.

So MMD stands for "Magicians Must Die".....

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Deck Of The Year: Category ideas
« on: November 04, 2012, 07:56:44 PM »
Far to many kickstarter decks to be able to qualify one for the 'worst deck' category... Except for a few exceptions, go practice the linking cards with the lot of them... However, given the success of the $146,000 Monarch rip off deck, you know the one with the snake and sword and similar writing and line art, I don't think we'll be seeing an end to kickstarter garbage anytime soon...

That's kind of harsh.  I liked the Pedale deck, and a lot more work went into making that than the Monarchs.  The Monarchs aren't 100% custom like that one is.

Loldudex2, I like the seal idea.  Would you include wax seals as well as stamps/stickers?

If you wanted, but other then the Ogma, Skulkor, and Hornets, I can't think of any other. Besides, isn't the Hornetsthe only one of the three that actually seals the deck?

I know this won't apply to most decks, but how about a category for best seal? Not many decks customize their seals, but when they do, it's awesome!

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Deck Of The Year: Category ideas

Most worth it/ most overpriced.

Best series continuations/ worst series continuations

Best/ Worst Kickstarter

How about one category for the company with the best decks/ worst decks.

Best/ Worst Handling

Best Fan/ Giant fan

Coolest uncut sheet

Some of them are kinda dumb, but they are just a few suggestions.

70
That's because they changed the link.

Ok, that makes sense. Well, my original Sultan deck is coming today, so I should have the link soon enough.

71
Even if you still have the link, or even google search it, it takes you to the regular Sultan Republic page..... Kind of odd, isn't it?

72
Thank you all of your advice. I will send them another email on Monday.

Do you usually ask for refund for this situation or just let them decide what to do?

I usually ask if there's anything they could do to help me out, and it would be highly appreciated.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Altruism Deck from The Blue Crown - ON SALE
« on: October 27, 2012, 05:19:45 PM »
This thread is hilarious. I'm with Russell and Don with this one. If you decide not to read, or you misread, then that's on you. During the live chat, Alex said "We produced 2500 White Owls that are not yet for sale. We will be running a promotion so that if you buy a brick within' the first week of release, we will shop a free Snow Owl with your order." I don't know what made everyone think he said "This is your one and only chance so take all your food and gas money to get these."

This reminds me of t11's Black Friday sale, in which they had free Brown Wynn's for $50, Jaqks for $100, and White Cents for $150. People were complaining "This is unfair, last year you could get a BW for $25 and a White Cent for $50. What's free is free is free.

Besides, if you feel so "mislead", then why don't you cancel your order? Most of them haven't shipped yet anyway.

My 13 bricks of White Arrco. I could've sworn they'd be the next big thing!

EDIT: I mean DECKS, not BRICKS!

What irks me is the fact that Paul (on multiple occasions) said how he hates when companies just recolor cards, or recolor courts; which I agree with whole heartedly, but then he goes and releases the same deck, with three different boxes.

Although I don't like the fact that there are three boxes with te same cards, I know the story behind it, and how they were all supposed to look like that, but then it would be incredibly pricey, and I'm ok with that, but then why did he decide to sell Tendril decks with just a gold seal?

I'm not trying to bash Paul, because I love his work (Tendril's are amongst my favorite decks and John can vouch for that), but the fact that he doesn't respect when companies go all out every time, and he doesn't like when they just do some recoloring, the fact that he sold Tendril's with the gold seal is like the pot calling the kettle black in my book.

Once again, no disrespect to Paul or Encarded as a whole, I'm just voicing my thoughts and opinions here.
