Playing Card Plethora / Re: Black Lions - David Blaine
« on: February 16, 2016, 05:01:43 PM »
Thanks Dan! You seem to have a plethora of knowledge when it comes to cards!  So, are  you saying that if I take my White Lions and flip them (face up), i should be able to faro them as normal as I can with the traditionally cut Black lions?

Well practically yes, that will be the case. However it you continue to break in the deck you should be able to get both deck to faro easily both way facing up or facing down.

As I did to the black lion, I start with the face down faro and repeat that a few times then try doing the face up faro. If it doesn't work repeat the process. You can also add other things such as riffle shuffle, dribble, spring lepaul spread in between.

Check out on youtube (52kards) the break in process and once you get that done, faro shouldn't be a problem both way.

As what Fes said, I also love the tally ho decks as they are cheap and readily available here in my country. They are also good cards to use as practice deck.  As for cardistry I would suggest a few decks such as the Virtuosos deck or Mirage deck.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Black Lions Playing Card Seconds?

I am not sure about david blaine seconds, but I had used several Bicycle Seconds and they were completely fine. Apart from some minor defects such as lighter colour contrast on the court cards. To me it is a cheap deck that I can use for any poker game, magic or practice.

Okay, my decks have arrived.

I mentioned in previous posts that people may consider suicide for not buying these decks... well, now I'm considering slitting my wrists... because I didn't buy enough of them!!

I've not opened any of my 5 decks so far, but if I had purchased at least a brick, then I definitely would have opened one. Damn, I really should have taken out a loan and got myself more!! Hahaha.

The Chancellor tuck is spectacular. Seriously, this has to be one of the most stunning tucks of all time. Black card and gold foil works brilliantly almost everytime... and this is the easily one of the best. This, and the Limited Edition Hive 2 tuck are my favourites.

The custom seal is easily the best custom seal that I've ever seen.

I think this is Paul's best deck till date. Excellent! :D

Holy J you gotta open 1 brother... it is absolutely stunning, I only got 3 of them but I opened 1 anyway and my mind was blown away out of this earth..
I was surprised even though I already saw the photos on IG.. it is becoming the best looking cards in my small collection.. Well done Paul and Well done EPCC on printing this perfectly.

« on: February 11, 2016, 05:19:12 PM »
To me this is normal, there are many modern deck that has no seal at all. For some the seal is becoming a problem since they leave behind sticky residue, so some designers just leave out the seal completely

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Superior Brand: Robusto Classic, by EPCC
« on: February 08, 2016, 02:32:23 AM »
Although my latest order of Robusto Classics have not yet arrived, my deck that arrived in late December is still going strong despite the daily abuse I put them through.

They outlast the Classic Finish decks by a fair bit, which in turn outlast any of the present day USPCC decks multifold. So, definitely a long lasting deck!

Here's a question for PCF member's who already have a Reserve deck that they've opened: what's the foil registration like on this one?

Some of the previous EPCC decks that have used foil on card backs (eg. Exquisite Bold, and 52+J deck) have had issues whereby the registration is way off -- as in really noticeable.

In the photos that Anthony posted, the foil registration actually looked close to perfect... but then again, those could have just been carefully selected cards.

Hi HolyJJ, the registrations of the reserve deck still have more room for improvement, though it is invisible to naked eyes. The only way I can notice it is when I do riffle test.
The other problem I noticed is the foiling quality being uneven.
See the photo I attached, some cards have nice solid foil yet some cards is showing the black dimples.

It was moved to the other selling board .

Mike Ratledge is selling his Variety Box you should PM him.

The one with the white lions, split spades, and prototype split spades with gaff cards. I don't know if someone deleted my post earlier but I'm serious about buying this if anybody is selling one .

I think that is because your rep is -5..

the rule is to have at lease +1 rep

I have not even get any tracking number..

61
ah you only wants the Gold edges.. well did you get the bohemia?

63
I thought the idea behind this deck was that it was a member exclusive? I'm frustrated to see Jackson selling signed editions on his website. I had to jump through hoops to get this deck under the expectation it was an exclusive deck for members only that wouldn't be available anywhere, and to a limited capacity. I felt like the expectation was set that you were paying for that exclusivity.

Jackson is selling it cheaper than buying it from the club...  how is that possible? just to clear the stock?

64
some of the gilded decks you mentioned are still available from UUSI website.
Gilded LE Bohemia is still available at $180
Pagan Series Light and Dark are available for $150/each

Maybe it's just me, but I am not used to seeing just the weapon on the court cards.. Something is missing ???

I wonder if there is any specific reason for Jackson to switch from Bicycle brand to EPCC. :o

Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Re: Looking for some durable decks!

You might want to look at getting decks produced by Legends or Expert PCC.

Since you are in Romania, I would suggest getting your cards from Legendsplayingcard.com they offer pretty low shipping cost, and most importantly they have many great selections of durable cards.

I am seriously considering about this as well... but the conversion rate is absurd. If I spend $512 (Including shipping) it converted to over AU$750  :mindf-ck:

Might be better to get them off of backerkit as it will probably cheaper than eBay...you also have the opportunity to pick up the new Brimstone Draconian (continuation of this Draconian deck series) deck by Randy, which is not available anywhere else. :D

Here is the link if you want to check it out: https://grinders.backerkit.com

Exactly right  :D Draconian is definitely a must have!!!

Not sure if you actually had backed the Grinder Deck by Midnight Cards (Randy Butterfield), the campaign is over but it is open on backerKits for pre-order.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hello From Australia! ~ Yes Australia...
« on: December 18, 2015, 07:51:34 PM »
I rarely use Australian eBay or even eBay.com, although sometimes a few good deals might appear time to time. Where as the STISO board on this forum is another great way to get good deals, just be sure to read the rules first otherwise the post will be deleted.

I had been to Games World and Mind Games stores in Melbourne, but they are very limited to Bicycle playing cards and I am tend to buy more deck produced by LPCC and EPCC.

If you are interested in Australian online store, check out Magicuniverse.com.au and heyprestomagic.com.au

Welcome to the Forum KnightwingNC  :D I am from Australia too based in Melbourne. Where are you located?
You have a nice list of collection there, did you get them from the local store? if you did can you share where is this store? I am interested because I haven't been able to find any local store that carry many custom playing cards.

Cheers
Hank
