Deck Reviews! / Re: [VID] Different Deck - Teach by Magic - Review

I received my Different deck and it is really fun!  I couldn't resist opening the deck.  I especially liked the artists "treasure hunt" to find hidden objects throughout the deck.  Just a really different deck (and whoever thought of that name?!)

Looks like a came to the party too late to be able to snag one of these amazing looking decks off KS.  I only hope that some day I may be lucky enough to stumble onto one.

Wow--did I really just do that?  Did I just purchase the very last set of Limited Edition decks?!  I have never spent that much on a deck.....but I'm giddy with excitement.   It was the jokers that pushed me over the edge.

Yes, I will absolutely get the word out to other CPCC members.  Hopefully we will be able to get some of them to start contributing to the conversations!

It is the amazing artistry exactly like this deck that makes card collecting so rewarding.  It is timeless and will always be one of my favorite decks!  I cannot wait until mine arrives.

Hello everyone!  My name is Patty.  I am a member of the Chicago Collectors Playing Cards (CPCC) as well as a member of 52+J.  I was bit hard a few years ago by the playing card collecting bug.  I found out through our local newspaper that there had been a convention in town for playing card collectors.  I didn't know such a group existed.  When I was a child, I received a small collection of single cards from a friend.  I thought it was neat, and wIth my small allowance, I added a few cards to the collection, but eventually set it aside.  After learning about CPCC, I dug out that old book and began adding to my collection.

Three years and four conventions later,  I have now amassed hundreds of decks and thousands of singles.  And somehow, I got roped into being the bulletin editor for CPCC.  It's all great fun.

I keep thinking I need to narrow the focus of my card interests, and someday I will.  For now, I am really enjoying all of the beautifully artistic decks being created through Kickstarter.   I also enjoy collecting single cards with advertising for well-known consumer products--food, beverages, automotive and oil related, and old department store buildings.

Many thanks to Tom, Judy, Lee, and many others for all the hard work (or is it play?!) they do for the world of cards!

Chicago Playing Card Collectors (CPCC) will be having their annual convention in Champaign, IL this year.  The convention will be held Friday, Sept 13 - Saturday, Sept 14.  It will be held at the Hawthorne Suites by Wyndham.

CPCC collectors enjoy trading single cards as well as decks.  Friday's focus will be single card trading, while Saturday will also include our Card Market, where for a small table fee, anyone can sell playing cards, singles or decks, and playing card ephemora.  The public is welcome.  New members or the curious are welcome!

For more information about our club and convention, please visit www.CPCCInc.org.
