Playing Card Plethora / Re: stock stiffness

I'm really hoping the Vortex Deck will be springy, and not very stiff.

Isn't that statement a bit counterproductive? A stiffer deck would naturally give more spring than a soft deck due to the fact it would want to return to its original shape.

UC has a thread about the exact same thing, take a look, maybe the posts there can help you out. Their talking about how humidity can effect cards.

Introduce Yourself / A bit about Curt
« on: October 03, 2011, 08:57:34 PM »
Hi,

As most can probably tell from my forum name, my name is Curt. I am 19 years old, 20 in a few months. I live in BC, Canada and practised magic for a few years when I was younger, going through middle school. I don't really have a solid reason to why I collect playing cards but I have always had collections of one sort or another as I have grown up, and it was kind of fitting to collect cards after being a magician.

Fun Facts About Me:

1. Currently studying to receive my BBA ( Bachelors of Business Administration )
2. During the winter, snowboarding is my life. I have worked and currently work for my local ski resort ( www.bigwhite.com )
3. I am sort of addicted to buying shoes and clothes....
4. Played the PC game Left 4 Dead competitively and beat some of the best teams in the world
5. Currently my favorite tv show is Dexter ( stoked that season 6 just started! )
6. I enjoy a bunch of types of music, bands include ( Chromeo, Deadmau5, The White Panda's, Sam Roberts, The XX, Calvin Harris, The National, Manchester Orchestra, Dragonette..and many others )

There's a bit about me, feel free to ask any questions you have.... I am generally a pretty open person.

Feedback + Support / Minor fixes

People can post minor changes they would like to see to the forums here.

I'll start, I haven't taken a huge look at the forum but I think the dropdown that is shown when hovering over "My Messages" and "Profile" and ect... need to have better colour contrast between the background and the text.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Favorite Deck?

I don't have a favorite deck of all time but currently my favorite deck is probably the White Lions, they feel awesome and were cheap to purchase. The back design is not the greatest but the box design is awesome, it really stands out compared to others. I am also a fan of the vibrant red colour use in D&D's v6's. The Red artifice are also quite nice cards, but not really my favorite.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: COLLECTOR'S TALK

I am a collector, but I put a pretty strict set of rules on myself when purchasing decks. My formost reason do have decks is to display them. If I do not have frames built for display then I most likely will not purchase more decks. I am primarily interested in limited run decks and vintage decks, I have no interest in trying to collect every variation of a bicycle deck ever made. I currently have about 70 decks in my collection, some of my favorite decks are my Red artifice, Tally Split Spades and my signed David Blaine White Lion that was given to me by Doug Mckenzie

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Thoughts on Blue Artifice V2?
« on: October 03, 2011, 06:51:01 PM »
I agree, the v1's look awesome ( especially in red )  :P but I understand the need for them to have a border, I mean a majority of Ellusionists customers are magicians, so it makes sense for them to market and tweak their cards towards them. The v2's are not horrible, just not as good as the original.
