The Conversation Parlor / Aquaman or Poseidon?
« on: January 11, 2014, 03:37:38 PM »
SO what do you guys think? who is better? We were having an argument about this at my work place.

27
So I am wanting 1-3 of these. Willing to trade decks. I have black crown, white ghost, fanstatique, a few vortex and a few apocalypse decks I could trade. I know they are on e-bay but I would rather trade, so if your interested you might buy a few and then we could trade. In the US of A trade - no problem, International - depending on your country and the shipping cost will have to see.

John Bruckerhoff. Contact me here.

28
So I am looking to sell or possibly trade this. Ellusionist and Penguin both sell this for $199 and the accessory kit is $15 on penguin, $20 at ellusionist. I am selling them together for $175, not including shipping (look below). It is still new, I opened it watched the dvd and played around with the gimmick a bit and realized it was not for me. If you have magic books or dvds your interested in trading let me know I am always interested in expanding my collection.

And Don hope I get all the info you want us to post here.
I am John Bruckerhoff and you can contact here via PM. Payment will be accepted through paypal only.
I will be shipping from the United states, am willing to ship internationally only is you have a positive trade reputation on here.
If you live in the United states Shipping will be $15 and I will get insurance for the total cost and tracking If international we will have to see how much it cost to ship to your country.

Feel free to ask any questions on this thread.

The Conversation Parlor / Care package for the troops
« on: December 11, 2013, 08:46:34 AM »
So I recently was thinking of doing a big care package for the troops. I am trying to do this last minute because I have been busy and just remember this. If anyone here would like to ship something to me or directly to them let me know and I can let you know how you can help. I am wanting to show the troops that we support and them and trying to brighten their holidays.

ALSO: I have just found out you could order directly from walmart and have them ship it to me or his base for me to add to the package/him to receive, if you wished.

The Conversation Parlor / Safety tips everyone should know
« on: November 21, 2013, 07:42:42 AM »
So I had no idea what to put as the subject but I just wanted to share an experience that happen to me and what I learned. So everytime I saw someone on tv break a glass on tv I assumed it was fake/not possible. I now know you can really do it. Though I don't recommend it, bunch of cuts in my hand. I had to use tweezers to pull some of the glass out and vacuum most of my carpet. My left hand was cut bad enough the bandaid could not hold it so since I had no gauze I used tp and tape. Will pick some gauze up later incase it gets worse or something like this happens again. So note to all, be careful when drinking out of glasses.

So I am just wondering what you guys think? now that we have the fancy tvs at home do you think movie theaters might slowly start becoming a thing of the past? I mean they might just put movies out and let us watch them online since streaming is a big thing right? I dont know just thinking here and wondering your thoughts.

Magical Cardistry Bonanza / How do you handle messing up?
« on: October 06, 2013, 02:02:09 AM »
So I am wondering how you guys handle this. It happens to everyone something somewhere goes wrong. The other day I was doing a brainwave deck (its like the invisible deck) routine and mis counted and showed the wrong card. Luckily she thought it was a psychology force that card effect and so I went with it and performed some mentalism.

The Conversation Parlor / Body language tricks
« on: September 26, 2013, 08:46:50 AM »
So it seems everyone seems to want to know how to read body language and when performing last I realized that using it not to read them, but in general to help them feel a certain way. In "how to win friends and influence people" it talks about smiling and saying peoples names. The instinct reaction when you here you name is to look up, which allows you to smile. I dont want to make this just performance related but it does help there. Outside of performing you can completely change the view point of someone who may not have given you a 2nd look but to really stop and talk with you. There are a lot of other simple things you can do/read etc but I did not want to pull a Don Boyer and spend the next hour typing a long post. :) so I figure we can just all share and discuss them and our view points.

The Conversation Parlor / Do you like beer?
« on: August 18, 2013, 12:41:59 AM »
So I had my 1st beer today, even though I am not legal for 10 months, I did not really enjoy it. It was a summer shady and I enjoyed the lemonade part but I felt the beet taste was over bearing. It tasted familiar but I have never drank before, anything not beer that taste like beer?

The Conversation Parlor / How to Pick Up Girls, as Taught by YouTube
« on: August 03, 2013, 08:40:00 PM »
So there are a lot of prankers on youtube including people who ask girls for their number in weird ways and give really interesting advice. Such as simplepickup, vitalitytv and others what do you guys think, would you ever go about it their way? I recently was working night shift buying my lunch at 2 am. A woman happen to be shopping for a few things. We ended up chatting and I used some of their advice having fun with it and just taking the shot. It does not make the best sense of how it worked but it did. Also what "lines" do you guys use. I am sure we all have our favorites.

Playing Card Plethora / Club 808 Speakeasy Deck - coming soon
« on: May 15, 2013, 03:11:10 PM »
The Speakeasy Deck, a brand-new deck made exclusively for Club 808 members. Look for it in our VIP Shop starting June 1. It's exactly what it sounds like: a deck that would look right at home on the bar in a smoky, lively speakeasy during the Roaring Twenties.

No pictures yet, but sounds like a good deck.

Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Magic to impress people
« on: May 05, 2013, 11:09:46 PM »
So on youtube a guy commented gay on one of my videos. I decided to check him out and retaliated a bit letting him know his stuff was crap. We then got into an arguement because I mentioned the fact that I like impressing people. And he says that I am showing my ignorance and lack of knowledge regarding performing.because magic should not be about impressing people. What do you guys think? I feel that people are impressed by magic. And I enjoy that, its part of the fact of doing something they can't.

Playing Card Plethora / How to tell a deck was re-cellophaned
« on: April 12, 2013, 11:35:55 PM »
So I had a black tiger deck sitting on my table from a trade months ago, I was going to a black light party so I decided to open it up and use it. All seemed fine the cards were nice so I put them in the box and go to grab my clip. When I got back the bottom of the deck was opened, I figured it had something to do with sitting to long and glue it back. On my way to the party I was messing with the deck and it felt light, so I counted the cards. I only had 40 something cards. So I am assuming the guy I got the deck from re-sealed and cellophaned it. Are there any ways to tell before you open the deck? I buy some decks for trades and would like to not get screwed again.

Playing Card Plethora / The Sideshow Freaks Deck – Available July 1

April’s Big News: The Freakshow Deck

Who doesn’t love the idea of an old-fashioned carnival? We’re proud to introduce some of the behind-the-scenes sketches and concept art for the Bicycle® Brand’s latest endeavor: the Freakshow Deck, due on shelves in July 2013.

The court cards all feature favorite freakshow characters like the bearded lady, sword swallower, a contortionist, flame-breather, and more. The tuck alludes to the red and yellow of a gigantic striped circus tent.

Look for the Freakshow Deck at ShopBicycleCards.com this summer!

Saw this at club 808. Can someone get the pictures my computers being dumb.
