Playing Card Plethora / Re: what im getting for DOTM
« on: August 14, 2012, 09:24:48 AM »
I think they just send their decks that they cannot sold out to DOTM members, just to get rid of their decks.

I'll don't think tungstene or  1st edition Split Spades Blue are decks that cannot be sold..

Is COE, Certificate of Emissions? No we don't have that but they were still a lot of money new. The 645 was $90,000 and the M6 was $120,000. That's still not cheap.
Thanks!

It is Certificate of Entitlement, If a car is 90k in US, add another 80k to it, that is our price. Seems like we can buy 2 car for the price of 1 in Singapore:D

Thanks!

Do u have COE that cost 80K just to own a car?

There is already a thread on this deck.

I dont believe it is the same deck. Look at the AoS and the box.

It is the same deck, Look at the back, court cards. He just modified the design and created a whole new post.

I ordered this deck and love the animation of the back of the cards, but if you look at the post by CBJ with the back card animation, you will see that mechanically those gears wouldn't work.
What turns the center gear? the main gears are going in opposite directions to make the outer chain move. ???  Still really like the deck ,but I thought that was interesting in a mechanical way of things. :mindf-ck:

The gear looks workable to me.

Playing Card Plethora / Durability
« on: May 31, 2012, 06:39:23 AM »
I was on facebook yesterday and saw someone's status saying that the new Kentucky decks sucks, and it is not durable because it cannot fan. Is the ability to fanning the way to define durability? Whats your point of view?

Please let me know I am not the only one left.  :(

U might be the only one left...

Then how do you explain the reason why brad fulton tweet like that?

Jealous, Simple:D His decks isn't as "HYPE" as luchen's spar.

I just dont understand why Buck twins and Mr. Fulton called it a Rip-off. It's designed by si-scott and most of si-scott's designs are the same http://www.siscottstudio.com/

Because the designer of spar deck isnt "si scott".
It's just shameless people copied almost everything from SM deck and even the designer name. "Si Scoot" <---- Read carefully. Its not a typo.

I'm never a fan of Lu Chen and its a bit dissapointing me, seeing he accepted the design.

When i posted that, I just copied what was on facebook and apparently,i was wrong, even Kenneth Kok confirm that this is designed by Si Scott.

he mention prices are still low so i just say that they are pretty high ..

If u do your math, each deck is about $7 USD, u call that high? These ain't your standard decks

16
Quite true.. Now i might only get a set or maybe just 2

17
I like the look of the cards a lot, but $25 for two decks before shipping (whatever that will be) just seems too high to me. It's a pretty huge change from the original $15 per set price they mentioned.

Well, That price was set months ago. Maybe there was unexpected extra cost which increased the price of the deck.

Killing time is exactly what I wanted to do. Haha. I don't think any of the mentioned decks which are made by others will make it into their VB,although it would be awesome if there is. Their VB up till now have consisted of decks made by themselves, t11, db, CARC, the very occasional individual companies or person(tungstene), and still in print decks.

Come to think of it I think the IAOCP wouldn't be in it also. However I think the watermelons might be because every VB v6 had a red watermelon(unless I am wrong). And assuming dnd bought equal amounts of a particular deck and color(that's what I usually do), this one would feature a blue one.

I have my reasons for the choices I made.  Not that I expect them to be accurate, but...  :)

Any RJRTC decks they have were after-market sales - they've been out of print for some time now.  There's never any assurances about them getting adequate or equal amounts of each color.  And are you SURE that all 144 VB v6 boxes had only the reds?  They usually stipulate that while deck choices are usually fixed, colors will vary if more than one is available.

I got my variety box with a blue watermelon

hello fellow singaporeans. I leave mine on an open shelf too. this is the only deck of mine that clumped :( other than the gold arcane which came clumped out of the box.

btw I like the originality of the deck. All the cards are 'custom' to a certain extent. my fav card is the joker with the bearbrick riding the bicycle.

@junjie I did use charcoal :)

Not enough? Or not useful? Maybe try using silica gel ?

They probably removed them to be used for the get a free autograph thing. Haha. I didn't get any free autographs no matter howard times I requested. Only got one 'free' with a purchase from them. Better than nothing.

Seriously.. They have "jokers"  I didn't know that...

Get some silica gels or charcoals and put it together with the decks. I do that and well, my decks don't really clump unless i put them in a clip.

There are some decks that I use to perform and some just to open and admire, although these decks are taken out to handle for about 5 to 10 mins every few weeks. However, I have not taken my bearbricks out for about 4 months. It has been lying in its box since then. When I attempted to take them out today, it was close to impossible. Previously i only played wih them about 3 to 4 times for about 10 mins. The deck clumped together so bad that I couldn't even pull it out of its box. When they were out, I couldn't fan dribble properly as they are still clumped. After a while they felt slightly better but still not as good. I remember taking them out for the first time and they felt slightly smoother than your typical bicycle deck. They are now in my dry cabinet under some weight, hopefully the condition will improve.

Anyone here owns the bicycle bearbrick deck and have any similar experience? Does anyone also know the stock and finish of the deck?

Still very sad as it was a gift from my girlfriend :(

I think it has something to do with our weather, and i recommend u taking out the jokers and ad cards, so it would be easier to take out of the box.

I missed the first release of these so maybe I will pick up a couple decks.

LOL, Saying the deck is expensive is ridiculous... Buy a air ticket and fly there to attend the lecture then, you will only get one frikkin deck.
People are selling it to help subsided part of the lecture fee. I don't see the reason why people are angry for that price.
