Title: How long does a deck last you?
Post by: VortexHead on October 07, 2011, 11:45:06 AM
I don't know how but my decks seem to last me ages compared to what I read on forums and so on. I have had opened decks of various brands, tallys, bikes, dnd cards and others and they've been opened and used for 1, 2 or even 3 years, now I dont use them everyday but I've never had a deck that cant be used for something, I very very rarely throw any decks away and so what about you? I just read one comment on facebook, it said ''lucky i got 4 bricks... :) that should be enough for 5 months?'' He was talking about the v6's, not sure if he's joking but even if he is I see this kind of thing alot, if your performing then maybe it would be the case but it's suprsing people get through so many.

some magicians tear or fold cards for some tricks, so that's one way people go through decks. As for cardists, some people just have really sweaty hands and once the cards get saturated they lose the ability to fan. Of course if you dont do alot of fans then this isn't a problem for you. i personally don't do alot of fans because i am sooooo bad at them, but some flourishes need cards to be able to slide off of each other cleanly so once a deck can't do that its done.

so pretty much all that was to say, if a deck is still doing what you want it to do, then keep on using it!!  :)

porper clip man!!! not only do they save the box from some, not all, dings but it also will help your deck last longer.

the clip is well worth it!! i was always second guessing myself about one, i would put in my cart but then delete it right before i finished my purchase.  so if you are having any kind of doubt about the clip, dont, its a great purchase.

hmm i never thought of that. if poker size cards fit, ya that box would probably protect the cards. the porper also straightens any crimps or bends that are in the cards.

yea the cards did with the box it would fit barely. tried it out last night since i always carry a deck figure i could use that and have it in my back pocket.

It all depends on how much use the deck. If its a deck that I use everyday it usually last me around 3 weeks to a month.
But I like to vary which decks I use so that they don't wear out so quick.

I never throw my old decks away. I can always find a use fir something. For example, take my beloved Jaqk cellars deck form T11. I used it for magic. It slowly but surely wore out. Now it's my deck for pretty muck everything. I still use it a ton for magic, and for card games!

But I open new deck often

I always use 2-3 decks but not everyday the same. I use one until it is a bit sticky, then use another and then the first one is already useable again

Don't buy the ones from the JAQK website. They aren't as good quality. The Theory11 JAQK decks are better.

I honestly do not have a deck that was not lasted me...unless I intentionally destroyed it (signed or torn cards)

The original one is made by different finish from the thoery11.
by the way T11 is two way back, original is one way back.
If you are collectors the original is interesting, but if you just wannna use it then buy T11's

Kinda of strayed from topic, let's bring it in. I know a deck last me a lot longer when kept in a Porper. The tucks get messed up easy but the deck itself stays good for a long time. Wash your hands kiddies lol

Yes sir. The solid ones do not scratch the boxes...what color are you getting? The clip will definitely extend the life of any deck you keep in it

Stainless steel? Do u mean those that does not have a M at the end of the clip?

What are either of you talking about? The stainless steel is not the same as the Porper, as far as I know. Porper does come in a ton of colors and variety but I think the stainless steel is a whole other inferior beast
