No new news on deck releases - though Cyber Monday in the US begins very soon as I'm typing this.

Two KS projects closed tonight - unsuccessfully.

WARRIOR - three military-themed decks of playing cards that can also be used to play a collectible card game based on warfare. They're not gorgeous, but there's a LOT of detail that went into these. The goal is very, VERY low for a three-deck project, only $13,500, so I'm guessing they're not using USPC for this.

The coupon code from Lee Asher, "CODE337", apparently no longer works. He does, however, still have a Black Friday code that's good through Saturday.

Eric Duan just released two new decks without any advance notice. The pair are called "Puppet and Kite". Not the oddest deck name I've heard, but close...

Ellusionist announced that they're working on ways to allow Black Club members to buy additional Black Club Edition Artifice decks. Now if only they could do something about that pesky membership price...

I've heard back from the creator of the WARRIOR decks. He's not using USPC, choosing instead a smaller printer whom I'm not familiar with.

Congratulations to Jorge Alvarez on making his goal to compensate for lost backing on his deck. Twice successful - probably the first deck that can say that!

Congratulations to Michael Mindes for breaking his goal of $10,000 for the Bicycle Amazing Adventures steampunk-themed deck. The project closes Wednesday of next week so there's still time if you want in on the action. Maybe you can help them reach overfunding goals!

By some miracle, Durak Premium Playing Cards made their goal and are heading into overfunding territory. For weeks that project had languished at less than 35% funded, with not a single new investment. In the past week, it's been making money - some days just a little, other days a huge jump. Today alone they took in around $3,300! Those are huge numbers. Right now it's at $9,554, just barely over the goal - if they have even just a few declined cards the project could still fail unless more investors jump in in the less-than-three days remaining.

Something seems a little suspicious about this deck. I just added up the rewards, and they only account for $3,490 worth of investments. This would be on par with what they've been getting all along and is in line with where the project was a week ago. Somewhere, someone's slipping big money into this project - perhaps the creator is so eager to have a success that he violated the KS TOS and tossed his own money in...

I would suggest staying away from Durak. All signs point to "false funding" and likelihood that they will not produce. Also no updates or comments from the creator. All warning signs.

We now have a confirmation that Ellusionist's LTD deck will soon be available in another color, probably blue.

I've added total change in the past week to all the active Kickstarter projects in addition to change in the past day. It gives a clearer picture of how a deck's been doing recently.

I'm considering keeping past totals for two weeks instead of just one. Any thoughts on this? Would you find it useful, annoying, are you indifferent, etc.?

"cards9" is invalid.
"5percentoff" is invalid.
"decks9" is invalid.

Both "cardcactus" and "snapcards" only work for certain playing cards on Ellusionist.

Ellusionist announced that they will discontinue the Sultan Republic deck after only creating 10,000 of them in order to create a second version with some design changes. The Sultan Republic Treasury Edition and its print run of 5,000 remains unaffected.

Funding for the Durak deck has been suspended. No reason has yet been given by Kickstarter. If I were making a guess, I'd say they were investigating the sudden, huge spike in funding they received in roughly the past week.

Checked, and I haven't used any of them. The only code I've used out of my years in magic was "magic10", which obviously worked at the time. Maybe Ellusionist has temporarily disabled their coupon codes, but for the time being, they do not work.

Congratulations to Ignite LLC, creators of the latest Kickstarter success, the Apocalyptica Chromatics, coming in at $22,864 on a goal of $12,000.

Also on Kickstarter, a new deck project - it seems that a British chap named Steven Appleton is planning a cruise to Antartica next month and thought it would be a brilliant idea to sell prints of his landscape/wildlife photos BEFORE they've even been taken, plus take the "best photograph" (as yet undetermined, since it hasn't been shot yet) to be made into the back image for a deck of playing cards. This guy has to have at least one of two things, each the size of Texas: rep as a photographer and balls. To make it all the more challenging, his goal is £7,500 (that's US$12,018) and he only has 12 days to reach it! Perhaps he thinks he can use the project's funds to actually pay for the trip?

On Kickstarter, the Roman Poker deck crashed and burned in spectacular fashion Sunday as it raised only about 2% of its goal ($127 on a goal of $6,000) when it reached the deadline. Oh, well - I guess I won't be shouting over the poker table, "Read 'em and weep - straight from the IV to the VII..."

Bicycle Amazing Adventures, a steampunk deck with some nice comic-book style art, is in the two-day stretch and has already met its goal. Invest now if you want these babies at a good price.

"Hero Boy" 8-bit Playing Cards just reached its goal with over four weeks remaining.

Predictions, in order of closing date:

05 Dec Wed - Bicycle Amazing Adventures: overfunded.
07 Dec Fri - Glaives: given an extra year, maybe...
08 Dec Sat - Bicycle Allure: well overfunded. Will reach 150% overfunding goal, but probably not the 200% goal.
15 Dec Sat - Antarctica Photo Shoot: a snowball in Hell has better odds.
17 Dec Mon - Bicycle Flowers: at its current pace, won't make it much more than halfway.
19 Dec Wed - Bicycle Urban Punk: should reach goal by midweek, may get to 200% before closing, especially if it gets a last-minute surge like many decks do.
01 Jan Tue - WARRIOR: very, very unlikely.
02 Jan Wed - Bicycle Hero Boy 8-bit: overfunded, might go 300%+.

It's confirmed that the name of David Blaine and Bill Kalush's collaboration is the Legends deck, and that it will come in three colors: red, blue and green. Reminds me of a Blue Crown deck...

I'm doing the updates now, a bit on the late side - I tried doing it at 3am Eastern Time, but I just couldn't keep my eyes open. I was at the Tannen's-hosted Blue Crown workshop, which was great, and went out for dinner afterwards with Alex Pandrea, Tony Chang and Adam Blumenthal (owner of Tannen's). Good fun.

So I found out the Tally Ho Circle Back in pink is a re-release, not a new release, so I'm taking it down.

The more accurate word, from our friendly member Max of the Max Playing Cards blog, is that the Babel deck from Card Experiment won't be out until mid-January 2013.

On Kickstarter -

I got my Bicycle War of Currents deck in the mail, so I'm removing it from the Successful KS Projects list. I'm planning tonight to go over that list and give one big ol' update on all the successes and what their status is as of now.

For reasons as yet unknown, Alien Ink canceled the Bicycle Flowers deck with about ten days to go on the funding. So no more flowers... This leaves us with eight projects, two of which end between now and my next report in about twelve or so hours.

Congratulations to AK Graphx on breaking the ceiling and going into overfunding on their Stealth Playing Cards project.

For those of you not living in a cave, Ellusionist placed a prototype deck of Blue LTD cards up for auction on eBay to raise funds for Wayne Houchin's medical expenses after being attacked and badly burned by a Dominican TV host. This is a soon-to-be-released unlimited version of the LTD design, with a new back incorporating fleurs-de-lis - no photo has yet been released.

On Kickstarter, here are two decks that closed tonight with results pretty much as expected: Glaives failed while Bicycle Allure did a bit more than 150% of goal.

I think they must bought this back because the Shadow Master decks they are currently selling still have this discount code included inside the deck.

Could anyone kindly confirm if he/she can use any discount code such as "cardcactus", "snapcards" and "DECKPROMO" under the Black Club Member account please? I tried all these 3 codes under the Black Club Member account and all were "INVALID". But when I login a non member account, all 3 codes were "applied". I have sent many support tickets to E and left messages on their FB, at first they said the codes should were TURNED OFF during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale and ask me to try again after they reset them. But after kept trying without success, I seek help from them with screen dumps from both member and non member accounts on 06DEC2012 and the following was the last reply from their webmaster:

"during the time which your order was placed, all other affiliate promotions which offered additional discounts were turned off, which we are allowed to do at our prerogative.

Your black club discount would have entitled you to 5% off of all your purchases (for a year).

The cardcatcus coupon would have been one that was turned off during our storewide discount.

If there are more issues that you've experienced that I've not addressed here please let me know and I'll do my best to alleviate them for you.

Oh, for the codes "decks9", "5percentoff" and "cards9", I have also encountered the same problem as KPop. I have never applied any codes excepted "magic10" to any of my orders. I have TESTED the codes, but not applied them to checkout.

First of all, if they're already having site-wide discounts, you won't be able to add additional discounts by using coupon codes. When purchasing under the Black Club, you're getting a site-wide discount. Black Friday through Cyber Monday were site-wide discounts. They're probably assuming that anyone joining the Black Club has already used all their coupon codes, since they're all single-use only. Discounts simply don't "stack" - you get one only per purchase.

Let's review those codes for your "non-member" account, which is not registered with Black Club.

Their codes fall into three categories:

1) Codes that offer a percentage discount no matter what you're buying - magic10 (10%), decks9 (5%) and 5percentoff (5%).
2) Codes that apply to playing card purchases only, nothing else in the shop - cardcactus, deckpromo and snapcards, all for 10%.
3) Codes that apply only with a minimum purchase of $100 - cards9 gives you $10 off.

And lastly, I guarantee you that somewhere in the site's Terms of Service, they reserve the right to deactivate discount codes at will, for any length of time desired, including permanently.

If you attempted to apply a coupon code at a time when you were ineligible for the discount, it's possible that the code was considered "applied", but nothing in the cart was eligible - meaning your one use got wasted. Try contacting Jennifer in Customer Service - if she doesn't have the answer, she'll find the person who does.
