So what is your favorite deck? I don't mean what you find pratical, or what you paid the most for. I mean the deck that when you see in your collection you look at and think "I remember when I first got that, it amazed me so much". Mine would be the Karnival renegades.

hmmm interesting question. I know people have asked similar question but I like the way you phrased it. The deck I see in my collection and look at and think "I remember when I first got that, it amazed me so much"... that would probably be the red white lions!

Probably my Wynns.  I think they're beautiful, and the handling is excellent IMO, probably my favourite stock and I usually don't worry about the finish too much (well, within reason).  I love casino decks, generally because I like gambling so to me, they're the perfect package.  Kinda pricey, though.

My Smoke V1 Deck is probably mine, it's been used so much but I still love it, maybe I'll get a pic posted tomorrow.

My favorite deck in my collection is actually my newest addition, the c.1920 Class "A" tax stamp bee deck. I enjoy the fact that it is a deck that is very hard to find, let alone still in mint condition. It is the only deck I have that gets exponentially more special to me as the years pass and is the only deck I would sell last if I had to sell off my collection. It is also got me wanting to expand my deck collection further into the vintage realm so it could be a very key deck in my further purchases.

Hmm, interesting thought,

1) what deck you own is your favourite?
2) what deck you do not necessarily own is your favourite?

1) probably white devos or bicycle guardians
2) perhpas karnival series? have yet to own them yet.. there's also tendril, vortex, mana, skulkor jokers.............

1) I find it difficult to pick a single deck to be my favorite over all others.  I have a number of decks I really enjoy using and owning.  Some would be:
Moth/Myth
The Watcher
Infinity - I was one of the first people outside of E to get my hands on a pack, and it was a gift from J-Bone
Tally Ho
Bee "casino sample" decks - casino-grade Bees, traditionally-cut
Arcane, especially white
both colors of the Z. Kok New Fan Backs
Club Angel red and blue from Japan
Bicycle Clot
Be@rbrick
Stick Man
Showboat House of Blues Atlantic City uncanceled casino deck
Bicycle Guardians
Propaganda
and the list could go on all night.

2) Favorite decks I don't own?  How do I know if they're my favorites if I don't own them?  Most desired deck would be a better question.

I'm hoping to get a White Centurions in a trade some day - maybe even two.  There's probably more I can think of, but again, I'd be here all night.

Don, I know this is off topic - but what rare decks don't you own?

There's quite a few.  The White Cents, Jerry's...  I don't own any decks supporting tobacco (Marlboro Texan 45s, RJRTC "Watermelon" Bees) or alcohol (JAQK Cellars, Virginia Slims).  It's a personal thing.

I own very little vintage, and not that old.  Two '60s Empire Arrcos and 17 packs of bridge-sized airline decks from the '70s.

I don't own S&M v1-4, just 5 and 6.

I didn't buy the Bicycle Apollo deck!  Nor did I buy Bicycle Tattoo v2!

Rarest deck I possess is a pack of Broken Spell, by Jisuk Cho.  I have only one, had to get it through an auction by the artist to raise emergency funds for Japanese tsunami relief.  There's well under a thousand in print, but I don't know exactly how many.  And yes, I opened it!  Next rarest would be two recently-acquired packs of White New Fan Backs.

I plan to photograph my collection on display soon.  Last week I posted a display of one pack each of all the decks I own.  Let's see where I can find that topic...

http://aethercards.com/discourse/index.php?topic=99.60

Go take a look and you can tell me what I don't have!  :))

I hope to take an inventory of the collection soon.

Wow that's a pretty solid collection! I don't have that many but I was finally able to get my cards on a bookshelf!! They look great finally being displayed instead of sitting in a box somewhere.

The rare decks that I own as of now are the Tungstene deck, Gold Monarchs, Red White Lions/David Blaine Variety Box, and then there are the "rare" decks but I won't go into those.

Well, looking at that collection and counting decks, including ones I acquired AFTER the photos were taken, I have about 400 different deck designs.  Of all those decks, most of them I have at least one extra sealed deck beyond what was on display.  In some cases, I have many copies.  I have a little over a half-gross of Gemaco casino decks ALONE, and I've GIVEN AWAY another gross to friends, family and patients at the hospital where I volunteer.

My best guess at total decks owned would be over nine hundred.

Anyway, back on topic... Mine would probably be my Shadow Masters. Well loved/used and the deck I LoL'd so hard when I found the one-way back principle on it.
I prefer hand written signatures over digital ones but the ink appears to be stuck on my monitor screen...

No it seemed fine to me!! It was incredible, but it really wasn't that bad. Overall I really really like the deck. The box is amazing, the backs are awesome and the cards are good! I would suggest trying to snag some before the price gets any higher.

@Don - How can you be collecting for a bit more than a year and have almost 900 decks? That's almost 3 per day. I'm happy if I get 3 per month! Will you be able to post a video of your collection? I like them better than pictures.
Anyways, I am getting some black crowns. :D

Yeah they are already priced pretty high, and I expect that these will only go up in value. It's a very nice deck and I'm really glad that I got a chance to add some to my collection!! I would pick up at least two if I didn't have some already.

That is actually a really good question!! I have been collecting for almost twice that time and I don't have nearly that many. Granted I don't buy every deck that comes out right away and I don't make many huge orders. That's an insane rate of growth for a collection!  ??? I wouldn't mind seeing a video either.

I've heard people say they hated the crown decks, but loved some other deck that happened to have the same stock and finish. People need to realize that more often than not, a deck that doesn't fan is a defective deck.

Anyway, in terms of design my favorite would have to be Artifice, but I've been using my Aristocrats a lot lately because I just LOVE the stock. I can't wait to get my style decks to have an idea of what it's like with magic finish.

Yes, I think you are right, Moon. I also checked out CardsRFun's review for more info and it seems like he has had the same issue. And I have also had it with my green crowns v2.

That is actually a really good question!! I have been collecting for almost twice that time and I don't have nearly that many. Granted I don't buy every deck that comes out right away and I don't make many huge orders. That's an insane rate of growth for a collection!  ??? I wouldn't mind seeing a video either.

Yeah, you should see my credit card bills...  :(  This doesn't count ANY of my magic/gaff decks.  That might push the collection over a thousand.

At first I convinced myself it was a necessity for a magician - my first magic order was for some cards and DVDs from E.  It didn't take long to realize I was as enamored of the decks as I was of the magic.  I'd always love playing cards as a kid - they fit in your pocket, you can play games by yourself or with others, do tricks with them, and they're mostly pretty cheap.  My grandfather was an inveterate card player, so I think I got the bug from him.

I'll see about doing a video.  No guarantees.  I'm a bit under the weather now.

Wow. Everything you say surprises me even more! My grandpa is also a card player. He plays a french game called Belote whenever he can. He even invented a 2-player version so he can play with me or my grand-ma. However he never buys new decks: his newest one was offered by a friend of his before the Algerian War (over 50 years ago!) and they club up so much its indescribable. I went and saw him for Christmas and bought him a brick of standard bikes and about 10 T11 decks. I didn't give him more because he isn't too fan of the american court cards (q for queen, k for king, A for ace): he's used to the french way (d for queen, r for king, 1 for ace, v for jack etc) and also he doesn't like the fact that there are indexes only on 2 of the 4 corners!

My favorite deck is now probably either my Vietnam Aces deck or S&M V6
People say nothing's impossible, but I do nothing everyday.

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.

I think my favorite deck (not of my own design) is an even split between Fantastique and Artifice. I love the back design and use of metallics on Fantastique, but the full custom nature of Artifice is excellent as well.
