Great interview, it was the last bit of incentive I needed to join the 52+ joker club ;)
Happy to be a new member.

I was an avid collector/magician and cardistry in some extent from 2009-2012, took a break and came back to this hobby just a few months ago.
I was pretty active on this forum back then, and the only real thing I can remember from back then were the conversations I had with Don Boyer. He was full of interesting info and always eager to help. I just loved him. It's great to see he's still into this community. He just reminds me of so many happy memories ;)

Guess I just want to thank you. And I think it's always pleasant to hear you mean/meant something to someone, that you had a positive impact on someones interests and life.Yes, even though it's 'just' playing cards, it's your hobby and you spent a lot of time on it. So yes, you impacted my life, and I won't forget you, ever. (This almost sounds creepy, sorry for that, but don't worry. I'm from Belgium so I probably won't meet you anytime soon, who knows, maybe one day for a meeting in Turnhout. You won't recognize me, but I'll recognize you)   ;)

This is just a pure guess but knowing these lasted for 3 days, that they had these were medium to highly wanted, I'd say there were around 10,000 decks made. That's what I think. It isn't one of the rarest, but it isn't a really common deck. So I'd say something like that.
Now that they will more than probably do multiple runs for resellers. So they can certainly go up to 20,000 decks or more.

Hey Josh,
While I think that the act of helping other people is awesome, I don't agree with the fact of priving yourself of food or things like that. I think you can do something usefull AND helping family's financially. For example, I think that working as a volunteer for 2 days is more helpfull. And let people fund you for doing that, like having them pay per hour, you do such volunteer work. Of course, this isn't a reproach, just a proposal next time you do such wonderfull initiative.

I never owned the system, but my first cardistry dvd was the Thrilogy. I had never done cardistry before, but had 3 years of magic experience, which helps in handling a deck of cards. I went through the first few cuts of the flourishes without much difficulty. I think that's really a good dvd. Even if they don't talk, they are really smooth moves, who can really help you in the future, to smoothen your flourishes. It helped for me, that's for sure.

When I said families of the victims, I also thought about the family of the shooter. I think it's it must be as hard for them as for the families of the victims. I can't imagine being a mom of someone who will be described as a monster, who will be hated by lots of people, who will finish his life in prison. Certainly knowing this guy didn't seem violent or disordered. Nothing that has been released about the shooter at this moment could predict such a violent act.
