Design & Development / Red Eyes Playing Cards (Redesigned)

Hola Amigos!

Some of you have heard of this campaign that got cancelled midway : http://www.playingcardforum.com/index.php?topic=8656.msg117941#msg117941

AV designed the original deck for a young man named Jonathan Pieper. Although the concept was brilliant in my opinion, I did notice a few flaws.

Good news is, Jonathan gave Adrian and I total control over the deck. It is ours to do whatever changes we want and launch it on Kickstarter by ourselves. For now I leave you the new and improved back design  :D

And don't worry, the court cards will not have faces of people you've never met  ::)

Design & Development / New design

Hello my friends from the playing card forum! Viva Mexico was a success and most decks have been delivered by now (a few internationals haven't seen theirs yet, soon though!)

I did disappear not because I got all big headed - I went trough a rough time and have very minimal internet access.

I'm back though, and have once again teamed up with AV to bring a new deck of cards. I always appreciate the support and honesty of this forum. Viva Mexico wouldn't have been possible without you all. So here I introduce a back design we have created. I will have more cards coming very soon.

Be as harsh as you need to be ;)

A deck by a Cardist  who's part of "the cool kids".

I don't like it but if it gets funded I'm buying a few to resale on eBay for $500 when it comes out in a different color . Haha

Playing Card Plethora / White Smokes by Dan & Dave

Are these real ? Found them at a magic store in Arkansas a few days ago, it was their last deck. It was open and they didn't have a seal, so that worried me.

Paid $10

I've heard some are worth a lot, also the bottom says special edition. I know there's several versions. Can someone help ?

Design & Development / Mexican Themed Deck
« on: August 27, 2015, 06:42:58 PM »
Hello all !

Living in Mexico for most of my childhood was a life changing experience. Even though I was born and spent most of my adult life in the United States, so much of who I am is attributed to those years. It is because of this that I decided to create a lively, unique deck of playing cards that would adequately celebrate and portray my deep love for my mexican culture and heritage.

This project has been completed and will launch on kickstarter soon. I just wanted to hear some opinions and am willing to make any changes that will make this a better project if necessary.

Let me know what you think please!

BACK DESIGN : If you've ever seen a mexican poncho or blanket, then you know what inspired this back design.

SUITS : The suits have been recreated to honor mexican cuisine.

Avocados for Spades, Nopales for Clubs, Tortilla Chips for Diamonds, and Tomatoes for Hearts

COURTS : Each of the 12 court cards have been completely redesigned to represent a variety of characters. HIstorical figures, religious figures, mexican professions, and more.

shown below are the Taquero (taco guy) and La India, who honors the indigenous women of Mexico.

Playing Card Plethora / What do collectors look for ?
« on: August 18, 2015, 11:12:14 PM »
Hello there!

I have a quick question, if someone already asked this please direct me to such post (I'm new at this).

What do card collectors look for on kickstarter decks?
Design, prices, features, anything helps.

Also, what are some good add ons collectors like?

I had a campaign that failed. It was a minimalistic deck (of course it was  ???  haha )

I know I want my main audience to be collectors when I create playing cards. I also know the minimalistic (double logo, letters, clip art) trend HAS TO STOP!

I'm very passionate and willing to learn and receive input.

Thank you !
