Just watched this really great TED talk from David Blaine about one of his most talked about endurance stunts, holding his breath for the longest time ever in the world. Find the link below -

David is obviously a very passionate man about the ideas of magic and pushing the boundaries of it. The amount of effort he put into this stunt is simply amazing and just to see his obvious passion makes this possibly the best TED talk I've ever seen by a magician (Maybe apart from James Randi's but he was talking about physics)

Enjoy :)
Mystery is the basic appeal of magic. Once the secrets are known, the magician becomes a mere manipulator, an actor in a suspense drama which has little impact because the audience knows the ending in advance.

Wow... That left me speechless.
Everyone would have something to learn from him. That's all I have to say.

He's a pretty incredible guy.  There's a certain energy to his presence, but deep down he's not that different from many guys, I think.  He certainly doesn't act like he's on a pedestal in person - he's approachable, even friendly.

For a moment I forgot Don was probably the only one here who has actually talked to the guy in person. :P

Yeah he does seem like a really nice down to Earth kinda guy, and awesome to have someone on the forums here who can vouch for that fact :P

His dedication and drive to pull of some of these "stunts" is incredible. I remember watching that TED talk a little while back and it was pretty impressive. I work at a pool in the summer and have grown up swimming and I can only hold my breath for a minute or two

Some of his other "stunts" are just as incredible if not more insane!
