Title: Old Decks of Cards
Post by: johns7076 on October 28, 2023, 12:06:23 PM
I just joined and look forward to posting my accumulation of card decks. Amateur collector so I will appreciate any feedback. This one Lee identified as Bee Back #126. It was in a Bicycle 808 Rider Back box, so didn't know about it for a while. I have never seen one before, so not sure of the age.

Check out the USPCC dating chart over at bicyclecards, https://bicyclecards.org/uspcc-dating-code/

With date code ?E?, you can say 1943 or 1963.  I don?t think Bee still made that back by 1983.

Take a look at the court cards and post a pic. Might be able to narrow down more for you.

You?ve got the shrunken courts which USPCC started using in 1954, so your deck is 1963.

Make that 1943, not 1963.  I did not realize that Bee used the smaller courts going back to the 1930s, so your deck is most likely from 1943 given back design, NYCCC on Ace of Spades, and type of date stamp.
