I'm glad they're releasing the red artifice in mini form. Little surprised that they're not releasing blue v2 in mini form though.
I'm disappointed there as well. I also remember them swearing they'd never make a new version of the red Artifice deck - though some would argue whether this qualifies. It would have made so much more sense to just focus on the variants that are currently in print and not stupidly rare - mini decks are often used as magic gaffs, but what's the point of a gaff card for a deck that's no longer in print and tends to sit on a collector's shelf more often than in a magician's show kit?
Not that surprising, they obviously wanted only 1 of each color. They should members mini black and golds free with the set though.
...this coming from the guy who wants all companies to give away everything for free, especially the rare stuff!
If they are USPCC, they are printed in China, as they don't currently print mini decks here in the USA.
Or at least, that's what they told me.
It is entirely true that USPC no longer prints mini-decks in the US, instead using a printer in China as a contractor for the work. That's been the case for a number of years now. The cards are usually smooth and lacking a decent coating of any kind - not meant for serious use other than magic gaffs and games of Go Fish played by kindergarteners.
But just as the Gaff System deck for the Artifice series wasn't made by USPC, how do we know this set of decks was or wasn't? We don't until the cards are in our hands, do we? Just because USPC no longer makes minis in America, that doesn't automatically mean that NO ONE prints them in the US. We don't even know who printed the Gaff System, and I can't remember the printing on the box which should list the country of origin.
