Hi all,

I would like to know if some you have some information about this artist.

Don already gave me some information about her and her work, but after a search in internet I couldn't find a lot of information about.

In case you don't know who is her, Elaine is a British designer who creates handmade decks in a very limited quantities, usually around 50 per deck, and they pretty difficult to find.

Does anyone know where to find more information about decks that she is working on, or where to find these decks ?

Also do you know other designer that work on such small quantities and special decks ?

Thanks!

  • Kickstarter:
A number of Peter Wood's decks were very limited.  There's also the recent Ambras deck creator, I 'think' she did a number by hand and even on demand, but I might be confusing artists.

Judy Dawson has much more info about Elaine Lewis -- its a great story which I will not try to retell.

I've bought two of her decks off eBay. I'm upset that I lost out on an auction for a deck of "Lips", but it seemed like the person I was bidding against was always going to top my bids.

DenverPete is a 52+J club member who has collected and sold many of her decks on eBay in the last couple of years.

If you join 52+J and come to the convention later this year I've bring the decks I own for show and tell.

The decks in questions are "Noah's Ark," number 28 of 50, and "Ices" (what Americans might call popsicles), number 24 of 50.  That seller has literally hundreds of decks on sale at that site, mostly vintage!

I passed on the Elaine Lewis decks, but I did pick-up a Charles Pry Circus deck.
He's got one left:
