Playing Card Plethora / NEW LIMITED Carat Card Cases
« on: December 18, 2016, 05:56:30 PM »
I wanted to announce the release of two new LIMITED Carat Card Cases, the Carat X6 or Half Brick case that holds 6 decks and the Carat XLG or Legacy case that was made specifically for Jackson Robinson's Legacy Cases. The production run on both of these cases was quite low and only 150 Carat X6s and 75 Carat XLG will be made available. The cases are already made and I plan to start shipping after December 26, 2016.

The price for both cases will be 18.99 USD plus shipping, but I am providing a special of free US shipping for US members and a 4 USD credit on shipping for all international members for that will last until the end of Chinese New Year, Feb 2, 2017 or until the cases are sold out. US orders will be sent through USPS first class or priority (depending on quantity) and the international orders will be shipping via China Post via small parcel post.

At the moment, I don't plan on making any more Carat XLGs due to the limited number of Legacy decks made by Jackson, but that could change if Jackson continues to produce more decks and there is a demand. As for the Carat X6s, though my initial intent was to make it to display Alex Chin's Magna Carta 6 deck set, it can be used for any 6 decks (series or not) and again, if there is a large enough demand, I would definitely make more.

If you are interested, please PM me or send me an email @ info@caratcardcases.com (please provide your UC name to make sure you get the free/discounted shipping)

*** A Special Thanks to Anthony Ingrassia for providing the pictures of the Carat X6 and Carat XLG ***

If you bought a brick, it was only 176 plus shipping with the discount...now that's a great price for Metalluxe!

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hello from Quebec City

I'd like the other members to know about the deck as well.  What is the best way to go about promoting the cards?  Is there a certain protocol?  Thanks for the help.

The best way would be to start a new post in the Playing Card Plethora thread with the name of your cards as a title and add the Kickstarter link as well as any information and pictures that you can to describe your project.  Best of luck!  :)

Hello and welcome to PCF!

The one image of the kings look nice and my interest is definitely peeked, but can you show us the rest of the deck? :)

Love the AoCs!  You are on a roll with the Aces!  I really can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve for us!  :D

Hi! Thanks for comments. We may announce EPCC as  a printer earlier than NZ$9900.

p.s. we do believe that OUR backers are not paying just for paper but they do value our efforts to create this deck.

First of all, Welcome to PCF Montenzi!  We hope to see more of you and your creativity!  As you are new to things, please take the time and look around the site as there is a wealth of information here for anyone interested in playing cards, especially artists like yourself.

As of Haere Mai, your backers, including myself, definitely value your efforts (especially artwork) to create this deck.  But unfortunately, the artwork and efforts can only take you so far as many people use the cards for more than just viewing as artwork and thus there are other features that they expect to have, which generally the 'big 3' can provide, especially for a price of 13-15.   8)

Hope you can lower that EPCC stretch goal and even if we do not make it, I will still probably back for one or two decks as support of your efforts (especially coming to the boards to hear everyone's opinion and taking actions to take suggestions into consideration) ;)

Lets keep in mind that the campaign is in NZD. NZD is currently about 0.73 USD so it's around $10 for a deck and GW handling a lions share of the fulfillment keeps the shipping respectable. Example 4 decks is $45 us shipped, not bad at all.

Sorry Fess, but i think that you are using 'around 10' a little too broadly as the price for a deck is more than just $10 a deck, unless you live in New Zealand.  For a single deck, it's more than $15, for two decks it's about 13 and for 3 decks it's a little under 12...and that is only for those that live in the US or NZ.

I too really like this design and have backed in hopes that it will exceed the EPCC stretch goal, but if they don't make it, I will definitely be pulling out as I am not paying 13-15 a deck for a relatively unknown printer.

I agree with Fess, the new tuck and back for Day is pretty awesome!  Looking forward to the successful funding of your project Ben!   :D

Overall, I agree with Don, you have a winner  :bosswalk:

I love this deck more and more...there is just one thing I would like to throw out there for consideration.  As you have decided to go the use a different color scheme for each suit, in line with no revoke decks, would you consider following traditional no revoke deck colouring scheme?  In other words, switch the clubs and diamonds so that the clubs are green and diamonds are yellow (or golden)?  Either way, I am definitely on board to support this deck...and not just one! 8)

I am sure that the Pink Flying Machines will find their way to eBay like all the other Walmart exclusive decks, just have to keep looking regularly...give it a couple more weeks as it seems that they were just released

I think Liberty is decent enough, but it's not a $14 deck.

Agreed and despite the fact that I really like the art, I just can't see myself shelling out 14 for it...sorry, but will have to pass for now

I really like the artwork on this deck and hope it funds this time!  Good Luck Olly! :D

Love the colors!  I think the light blue pips stand out better as opposed to the black pips, which kinda get lost in everything.

Keep up the great work! :)

41
Another beautiful set of court cards!  ;D. Thanks for listening to everyone's suggestions, this deck is turning out fantastic...so colorful and lively...it definitely stands out amongst a lot of the other decks out there.  Really looking forward to the launch of this deck!   :D

42
Hey Nine Lives,

Yeah, I mean Australian Aboriginal Art...I guess it was the patterns and especially the white dots on the faces of the courts that made me think of it...and the fact that you are from Australia ::)

Let us know what you decide on the JoH, either way, I am all in!

Look forward to seeing more!  :bosswalk:

Cheers!

43
Looking awesome!  Keep em coming!  :D

One thing I did notice going back to look at the other courts though, the color of the JoH's nose is inconsistent with the K & Q (while the Clubs are consistent) and kinda sticks out and unfortunately, now I can't unsee it :-\   Not that it will change my mind about the deck as I definitely want a bunch, just thought I would point it out.

BTW, I noticed a little aboriginal art influence in this deck or am I just imagining things?

44
Love what I see so far, especially that KoH :D  Definitely looking forward to seeing more! ;D

Hi Folks - I don't suppose anyone has seen the 20% promo code the site refers to; apparently its meant to be on Davids Twitter / Instagram accounts, but I cant see anything?

I believe that 'July4' is the promo code (good old Google search)...it is valid from July 2-4

Happy collecting, but be careful it doesn't burn too big of a hole in your pocket ::)

whats the general USPC seal change timeline look like? IE: tax stamps, uspc seals with the tax stamp style serrations, offset blue seals, centered blue seals,etc...and are red seals a part of that general deck timeline, or is that more of a casino deck thing(ive only seen them on bee casino decks before)?

Check out the Introduction to the Hobby of Playing Card Collecting by Lee Asher...it's a pretty awesome reference and gives a general answer to your question. ;)

No problems federdemon!  ;)

As for reputation points, I imagine that they are to rate whether you are a reliable person or not, but I can't be certain :-\..I know that you need at least one to list anything for sale.

50
The only time I have seen this is on USPC decks when they are exposed to moisture, then the black core starts to show through.  Did your decks get exposed to water in anyway?
