Seasons greetings y'all!

I currently have several magic DVDs listed on my eBay page, but I am posting here because there is also an opportunity to get an exceedingly rare emerald green Hollingworth deck. This deck comes packaged with The Hollingworth Collection, a DVD set produced by Dan & Dave that features some of Guy's classic work. There were only 1000 sets made, and they are no longer available on D&D's website. You can check out the auction here, along with my other ones:

Best of luck bidding (or if you are interested in making me a direct offer you can PM me)!

Hey guys, long time no see!

I am no longer as serious about selling playing cards as I used to be, so after I get rid of some "leftovers" I think I'm going to be done (at least for now). Check out my eBay page for your chance to bid on the last of my collection, including White Monarchs and Blue Fontaines. All decks start at $0.99!

Best of luck! :D

Bought a couple decks from Caleb (AKA Mydnyghte). Fast shipping, awesome packaging, and everything was in perfect condition. High recommended, would buy from again.

Hey gang, it's been a while since I've sold anything on eBay, but I'm back with a few decks and flourishing DVDs which are great for beginners! You can check out everything I have for sale here:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/johnspademagic/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

I'll be posting more card / flourishing auctions in the coming weeks but not necessarily posting about it on here, so feel free to go back and check out my eBay page in the future!

I'll re-edit your title so people know you're not "in the running."  Let us know if you change your mind.

Ah yea forgot about that, thanks

I don't think I'm going to enter. I like this design, but if I ever create a deck of cards I'd want to put more work into it, and I feel like I really half-assed this design to be honest. I wish all other participants the best of luck! :D

Okay :) so does the image I already posted look alright in terms of how it is presented, or should it be in some sort of other format? Can you tell me what a "complete design" would entail? Obviously I know I need to show off the backs and faces, but does it all need to be laid out in the way it will be printed, or what? I have no idea how this works haha

Have you read the rules yet?  It's all detailed there.  Was there something specific you needed to know beyond that?

Ahh, I haven't actually read the rules... that would probably be a good idea at this point lol

Thanks, Don. ;)

have you/are you going to submit this? I really like this back design.

Ehhh, I mean probably, just because I haven't seen many other submissions so I might actually have a chance lol  :P

Also, do you guys think it needs more in terms of the actual design? Do parts of it look too empty, or should I leave it as is?

Something I started working on a long time ago and may end up coming back to for this contest. Thoughts?

It reminds me of a car logo.  Are you entering this into the contest?

Yup, I was thinking of entering it! And I'm not sure how to take that haha

Take it well.  Most car logos are created with a near-scientific precision in order to evoke the proper mood for the brand.

I like the shade of green you used.  :)  The design is interesting. What is it?

Thanks :) original name was "the Anarchy deck" but I might change it.

It's got an "A" in a curve - and that's where the similarity to anarchy ends!  I could see you making a deck themed to look like a promotional giveaway for some fictional 1960s car brand!  You could have a lot of fun playing with that idea.

If you opt to make this for the contest, add this tag to the beginning of your title: (DDDC).

Well in that case thanks! And yes, it doesn't actually have much to do with anarchy aside from the "A" haha. My original idea from a few years ago was to create a deck where each court card featured a different theme or gimmick relating to anarchy (so lots of guns and weapons and whatnot; the idea doesn't appeal to me so much anymore). I created this back design using my limited skills and although I am proud of what I accomplished, I agree that it doesn't give off a very anarchic feel.

Semi-related note/question: Don, you compared this design to the "near-scientific precision" of a car logo (which is a huge compliment, thank you). However, in terms of making everything perfectly symmetrical, I am sort of lost... I created this design in Photoshop and looking back on it, I probably should have used Illustrator because now I am finding it difficult to make everything symmetrical (especially with all the different layers - it makes things confusing). To show what I mean, I flattened the image to a jpeg, copied the design, made it translucent and rotated it 180 degrees on itself; as you can see, some parts line up (such as the small green circles near the center) but most of the other geometry is slightly off. Anyone who is good at graphic design - what is the best way to fix this? Any help or tips would be much appreciated!

Hi folks,

It's been a while, but I finally have a few new listings on eBay. This week I've put up auctions for an English Laundry deck, a couple DVDs (Kaos by Daniel Garcia and Tagged by Richard Ferguson), and an Ultragaff deck + Volume 2 of the training DVDs. Check it out!

John, I recommend posting some card faces for that College Humor deck - you mentioned that the deck was opened but new, so you could generate more interest in it by letting people see the face art.

I actually listed it once before showing a few faces (with no bids), but my theory is actually that if I don't show any faces people might buy it so they CAN see the faces haha. Incidentally, the faces are very lame. In any case, it's a pretty crappy deck that I'd expect to get $0.99 for. If no one bids on it I might just end up giving it to a friend. But thanks for the advice anyway! :)

Bidding on an unknown product sight unseen isn't one of my favorite pastimes, and in that I believe that I am not alone...  :))

I mean to be honest, that's one of the reasons I bought the deck to begin with. On the BustedTees site it shows you the same joker card I show in the photo, but none of the other custom faces. I bought the deck because I was really curious to see what they looked like. But whatever, worst case scenario I lose the $7.50 + shipping I spent on it way back in the day haha ::)

Hi John
The first Ramblers were made by National Card Co. in the 1880's. USPC got the brand name when they bought National in the 1890's. I'm not sure when the started printing it as a USPC deck put as it doesn't appear to have a tax stamp, I'd guess after 1965. Inside the box will be a deck printed as close as possible to the original NPC version.

Ahh, thank you very much for the info! I will add it to the description. :)
