I was shocked when I read this today. I knew he had cancer, but somehow it's still strange to see such a figurehead die from the disease.

It's weird knowing that people will now grow up without a clue who he is, kind of like when Michael Jackson died.

In honor of his innovation, let's take a look at one of the most classic iPod ads ever made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39cws3wBOzw

I agree Alex,

Even though people die everyday, its always feels different when someone so important to todays society passes. When you reach the status level like Steve Jobs you tend to become perceived as invincible in many peoples eyes and it is a huge shock to find out that they are just human after all.

Very sad. He was a genius, its sad that he won't get to see all of the new technology Apple will create.

Also, many people don't know this, but without Steve Jobs, Pixar wouldn't exist.

The guy resigned as CEO a few months ago already. Tim Cook looks like a stand up guy but somehow Apple just isn't the same without him. Kind of like how Microsoft isn't the same without Bill Gates. When you lose the face of a company, no matter how great your products may be it's simply less personal and less fun for the consumer.

Like when Michael Jackson died, I heard it a few times the day without thinking about it, but then I suddenly realised what happend. It's like you can't believe it so it takes some time until you get it.
RIP Steve Jobs  :-[

Steve Jobs death was a bigger deal to me then Michael Jackson, due to the fact that Jobs died of cancer, and like I'm sure a lot of you, I have family that has different types of cancer, so it just maked me realize how powerful it is.
