@Don which ones are yours?

@Joker db already said he would not do so sadly. He didn't even want to sell te blue ones in the first place.

@sindsandman I just reread the thread and realized that you said you had an opened UV one coming to you. How much did u pay it for? That was a very risky purchase as there is practically no way of telling if they are the real stuff, unless under black light as they look identical to the normal blue ones. Unless the seller is really reputable, he/she might have swapped it with a normal blue one. No offense if the seller is from here. Just looking out for one another.

I do appreciate your concern. The guy is reputable, I cross checked him. In addition, he would have needed to open a Red Lion and replace the cards...lol that would suck.

I have two Variety Boxes, so I have the red and the UV but not the purple.  I did get to see a purple uncut in David's office, though!

So where are the pictures ppl?

@sinsandman actually he doesn't have too. He could have opened the UBS and swapped them with some normal blue ones.

@don since you have 2 red WL, would you mind trading one? I might have a few magic con 2012 coming my way. Pm me if u are interested ;)

I have them in my phone, those pictures!  I'll try getting them up here today.

Already cut a deal for MCv2 decks; plan to keep those red White Lions!

UBS?  Unopened box seal? - The UV blue deck, red deck and purple deck all come in an IDENTICAL tuck box, marked "Series A Red" on the front and "Rainbow Deck" on the bottom.  To pass off a standard Series A Blue deck as a UV Blue, you need the box.  Still think you're being ripped off?  Find a blacklight somewhere and shine it on the cards!  While I haven't tested this myself, I'm 99% certain that the UV Blue decks are printed on the old UV500 stock that E used to order for all of its decks before it got too expensive; one of the stock's core features was that it would fluoresce under a UV lamp or "blacklight".

It's more effort than it's worth to create a fake, unless you happen to have the mint-condition tuck box of a trashed Rainbow deck lying around not doing anything...  :))

White Lions Series A Blue and Series A Red.

If you read the Playing Card Wiki article on the David Blaine decks, it has more information about the custom faces found on many of the court cards.  For example, all DBlaine decks have his face on the King of Spades and his girlfriend on the Queen.  Mark Stutzman, the designer, also appears on all the decks.

These are the UV Blues.  Note the dot on the box - that's a magic marker on the cellophane, the only indicator that a sealed deck contains the UV Blue.

Thx a lot for the pics Don! The backs don't really seem to be any different from the normal White Lions though...
Noticed how you don't appear as a mod on those posts? Is that normal or is it a bug?

woo. nice. so the only difference is the backs? what about the ad cards or gaff cards(e.g the double backer)?

Edit: the red ones looks sexy. Like a woman in red heels. And I have been using the blue ones for a very long time and I must say they do last a long time.

The only "design difference" in the backs is the color.  Did you expect something else?  It's not any different from the difference between red and blue Rider Backs!

Yes, I did expect there to be more subtle differences. I would have thought there would be a difference between the UV blues and the normal blues.

Oh, I figured that's what happened. :P

Wohoho that looks cool! How do they handle, just as well as normal white lions or do they clump out of the box?

What, and my pics were chopped liver?  I had the UVs in the last photo!  Two packs: one open, one still sealed.

No, Nathan, they are not clumpy.  Why would they be?

Its supposed to look like the 'blue one'. The only difference is that its sensitive to UV (black light).

I'm starting to wonder something here - some of you guys seemed to think that the other versions of the White Lions deck were going to be somehow radically different, like maybe Houdini's ghost left spirit writing hidden between the little "db" symbols or if you hold it to the light in a certain way you'll osmotically absorb all of David's magic secrets...  Even photographic evidence doesn't seem to be enough to convince some of you otherwise.

The "rainbow" decks are a different COLOR, period - and in the case of the UV Blue, it's not even that; it's the same color on a different stock.  If you were expecting dragons, unicorns, fairies, hookers, Secret Service agents, skulls, supermodels, the British Royal Family, etc., I am very sorry to disappoint you, but you're out of luck.  Every other aspect of the decks is one-hundred-percent identical to the standard-issue Series A Blue.

And to add, not just the look, but the feel of ALL of the different colors is the same. They're made on the same stock with same quality control.

...with the exception that the UV Blue is on a UV-reactive stock, which I've been assuming is UV500 since it's the only one on the market I'm aware of with those properties.  Regardless, it's equal in quality to the other stock being used, which I'd guess is a fine Aristocrat stock on par with what they're using for the Tally Ho deck these days.

My bad, Don. Must have overlooked the pics you posted.

Everything Don was is correct. Tis only but a different stock, everything else is a normal White Lion in a Red tuck. However...limited as hell, so I'm good with it :t11:
