Playing Card Plethora / Kickstarter and "Limited Editions"
« on: March 22, 2014, 01:45:37 AM »
I initially backed it but pulled out because I had a problem with the way limited edition was used.

ADMIN NOTE: this thread was originally part of a topic on Jackson Robinson's "Independence" playing card project on Kickstarter.  From this point forward it took a long but important tangent away from the topic so I made the executive decision to create a new topic for the tangent.

A Cellar of Fine Vintages / Lithuania
« on: March 21, 2014, 01:39:44 PM »
I was wondering if anyone  might own some vintage decks from Lithuania? I have seen a couple and they had a distinct style.

Half my family is Lithuanian, but the only thing I know about the place is it has alot of crosses. If any one could school me on Lithuanian cards that would be great!

Exhibit A is the infamous Deck Starter Deck by Dan and Dave.. or Art of Play. Stores are asking 90, and if you think that is a rip, I agree.

ohhhh ahhhhhh

Exhibit B

Drop a PM with what you think is fair and or a trade idea for both or individually.

Thanks!!

This was posted in  plethora, but I was interested in knowing  if there was a deck  you have scoured the earth for. A "must have" deck of cards that has to date eluded you?

Vote for Your Next Club 808 Deck

Later this year, Club 808 will produce a deck inspired from the historic decks in our collection. We’ll clean it up, make a few updates, design a tuck, and release it to Club 808.

But you come in long before that. We’re leaving it up to a vote. The back design with the most votes will go to print.

Voting closes on March 20th. We’ll reveal the winning deck with the April 1 content and keep you up-to-date on when it will be available in the Club 808 Shop.

hmm which one?

Feedback + Support / Tapatalk API
« on: January 27, 2014, 12:20:08 PM »
I see that this was brought up awhile back, but thought I would restart the topic because of all the changes.

I think it would be great if this forum added the Tapatalk API. It is a free instal and takes around 15 mins to do. It wouldn't change the look and feel of the board for those viewing on a mobile device, only give them the option to view it via the Tapatalk app. Also once the API is added the forum is indexed into the Tapatalk directory. This would increase the visibility of the forums.

Also I do web work for a living, and would be more than willing to help or do the instal.

Introduce Yourself / Who's the new kid?
« on: January 22, 2014, 04:27:38 PM »
Hello all,

I have been lurking on the board for around a month, and decided to finally introduce myself.

My name is Nate and I hail from North Carolina where I run my own IT/ web company. I got interested in playing cards after reading a memoir of my Great Grandfather. I  became interested in his time at Lennen & Mitchell  especially the design work of the 1950s.   I decided to design some playing cards for family and friends ..  I ignorantly  thought I would be able to  read an article or two about poker, design the cards, and print them up. To my surprise I found how little I knew about the art of cards. The more I dug the more questions I had and the more interested I became in cardistry.. now i'm hooked.
