I like it. This last year or two I have been much more drawn to T11's than E's decks.

It might be more accurate to say you've been preferring T11 over Madison/McKinnon decks!

Completely agree. the prohibition decks are incredible looking. If E offered them outside the deck set, and without the stupid box they would be schooling theory11.

As long as it's printed on the web press and has skulls I'm in PurpleIce.

Don is ole fashioned. I hear he likes to take his decks to the movies.  ;)

Just received my 2 decks and to be honest I was a bit disappointed.

The details on the backs and aces look muddled. And Im not a fan of the 3d effect on the pips.

Man, the Fontaine decks can't seem to catch a break. I don't understand where all of the criticism comes from?

Perhaps because they're as exciting as dirty dishwater and half as hard to make?

I get the whole "minimalism" thing, but there's a fine line between minimal and boring.  Fontaines are on the wrong side of that line.  I could buy red NOCs and a white marker and have nearly the same deck in ten minutes - right down to the Ace of Spades design!  And that would still be longer than it took to design the originals.

When I saw this topic - I was DYING of laughter.  Nearly woke up my stepson!  I would back this deck just for the hysterically funny statement about some of today's lazier deck designs!  Reminds me of the YouTube video purporting to be an ad for the next-gen iPhone - and it's INVISIBLE, too!
I still don't get the hate.  There has got to be a backstory. From what I see there have been 2 fountaine Kickstarter projects. The cards are not marketed ostentatiously ie Daniel Madison/Ellutionist  with every color change billed as game changing/ mind blowing/  pushing the limits.
The fountaine site is filled with how to demos and examples. The cards are simple and part of a brand image focusing on cardistry. In this current market  Fountaines with 2 decks, 1 a recolor based  and marketed on a guy's ability and community of cardistry hardly seem offensive.

So what gives?

I think someone spilled the Latin dictionary on it...

Cerca trova...carpe noceto...carpe diem...it's been a while since the "mysteries of things written in Latin" impressed me that much.  It's pretty, it's intricate - but why so much Latin?  Would've been better without the clichĂ©s.

So, I shall wave my magic wand and utter in a deep and reverent tone, "Pone agerentur suem toga et rutrum, est adhuc sus."

From the Latin, that reads "Put an evening gown and makeup on a pig, it is still a pig."

It's not that bad, Donny Downer. I carpe'd 2 decks.

The Lions den.

[scratch:target=head;state=confusion]
[timedelay=10s]
[stare=befuddled]
[/scratch]

Aside from quoting part of the deck's name and showing us a pretty picture, were you actually trying to say something?

I believe he was demonstrating that lions have 4 claws not 3 like the thing that clawed the lions den deck.

Also It looks like Madison has updated his story. The Lions Den is apparently the name of the place he was caught cheating  and beaten up for being too awesome and totally badass.

The Tally Ho Blaine decks tend to get sticky over time.

Is that code for something?

This deck was reprinted in late 2014, and now comes cellophane sealed with a slightly different deck seal. the artwork remains identical but this edition has a different ad' card. It's a collection of simply stunning pieces of artwork, 'nuff said!

I want to thank http://unitedcardists.com and http://www.playingcardforum.com and all my Facebook friends for helping me stay on track with this design. You all have been essential in my progress as a card designer even though the feedback has been very tough to handle sometimes, but it is necessary. I need continued feedback to update this design, so everyone can be proud of it! Thank you!

The name and the stone and setting will be changed. I need your help! Please leave some feedback!

Couple things, Lonnie Dalson Is a freaking awesome name. And if you read this Lonnie I plan on using it for a song I just sold as a pen name.

Im not  sure of Lonnie's vision or ultimate plan. It looks like he has pondered a few different directions from film making to card design. He is willing to stick his neck out, take tough criticism and appears to be searching for a form of expression.   Art at the core is for the  artist, the term "starving artist" wouldnt exist if it wasn't. (they would be called dumb dumbs that should of gone to business school.)

Whatever form of expression Lonnie settles on I hope he keeps in mind that money and funding do not correlate to artistic worth.

There is a marketing tactic on eBay where empty accounts will post, bid and complete a auction at a ridiculous price to drive the price and and attention to a product. It happened with the Dan and Dave private reserve cards. The absurd sale happens waaaay early and usually before most that actually ordered the product 1st party even received their shipment.  If you look at the accounts and history  of these guys it becomes even more obvious that this was fake.

*Something about science and stuff etc...*
Plutonium would't be necessary - it's a bit too strong with the gamma rays.

you can sit this one out then grandpa. Half ass is no ass.  And if Gamma is so bad explain Spider-Man.

Wait, what exactly does "US $200.00 or  $34 for 6 months†" mean?

It means $200 dollars upfront  but if you  don't have all moolah but really really feel you should still be online buying a  stack of paper, dont fret cause it could still be yours with 6 convenient monthly payments of $34.

IT's releasing on CARC so it is definitely released to public.

But what is the print run like? Please don't make me camp at my computer anymore....It's launching 2am over here...  :mindf-ck: :mindf-ck: :mindf-ck:

ouch, 2am. You could always place your order with DarkDerp's "I got nothing better N' Sons" For a nominal fee of a PM and reimbursement via paypal  no one can  match our skill at link clicking and form filling.

I would think a John Hancock slapped on a bunch of the same doodads would do about nada in the long run. Without coming  from a legendary show or another interesting  "origin story" it really doesn't feel so collectable.
