Playing Card Plethora / Re: Bicycle Goat Deco

It's an interesting concept, but I don't like the execution, particularly how the faces have background printing into the bleed.

I think that's just the site's watermark.

What is this *mystery* deck, I'm curious to know since they are no longer available.

It's a Tatler deck.

These are now on sale at http://www.shopbicyclecards.com/. Club 808 members can buy blue and red uncut sheets at $20 each.

My entry is the Queen of Hearts, from the Nautical Deck. Cheers Rob :D

The Conversation Parlor / An Honest Kickstarter Video

Funny video about the empty promises of some Kickstarter projects. ;)

I've reached out to Jaspas the creator of the project, and he confirmed that the $39 tier does not come with a deck. I've also invited him to join us on the Discourse. :)

7
Seems like you have to spend $78 to get any decks

Reading through the page, it states that "These cards are only available with a purchase of the DVD." It's a bit unclear, but I think the $39 pledge gets you one deck while the $78 CoSEA Card Collectors Package gets you three decks. It's a pity, I would've backed this project if there was a stand-alone tier for the decks only. :-\

Added some decks to sale list.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Tolkien deck

I love Tolkien and the entire world. I've looked into doing a LOTR deck but the Tolkien estate requires anybody that is applying for a license to have been producing in that specific field for a minimum of three years before even considering an application. So I just started the clock. :)

You've just made me so very happy. :D

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Bicycle Espionage Sneak Peak

I've got a question for you guys: I've received my Espionage decks and one thig is for sure: the stock and/or finish are not standard. Does anyone knows what kind of stock or finish were used?

It feels like regular Bicycle stock with a smooth finish, not unlike an Aladdin.

Deck list updated - still looking for an original Blue Bloods deck. ???

Got these directly from Lawrence Sullivan last week: a mixed brick, a carbon fiber clip and a Legends Playing Card Co pack jacket. ;D

I had my doubts about the clip when I first saw it online, but two Thursdays ago I saw one down at CARC and was pretty amazed - strong but very light.  If I had fewer clips, I'd pounce on that immediately.

I was unimpressed when I first saw the clips but figured I'd take a gamble on them. Now I'm a fan. Love that gloss finish, and the carbon fiber is strong and light like you mentioned!

I'm looking for an original Blue Bloods deck. Willing to trade for one. Hit me up!

I am (generally) NOT a fan of "semi-transformational" decks (those, like this one, in which each card has the right number of pips, but they are located, oriented, sized and skewed in whatever way the artist feels best serves his or her concept for the card)....Appreciating all of that, I tend to think of "semi-transformational" cards as somewhat a product of creative laziness (of course, if I ever designed and created one myself, my appreciation for them might increase tremendously).

From our correspondence (since 2012) about playing cards and transformation decks, this is a bit disappointing to hear. I was supportive of the deck concepts and images you shared with me, but your recent statements make me question how genuine your support was of my work back then. To each his own though.

Emmanuel and MrMollusk, I'd like to add that I know Bob a.k.a RSLancastr to be one of the most enthusiastic and genuine collectors on the forums, and a nice guy in general. Also, even though I'm not very familiar with all the transformational / semi-transformational decks in existence, nobody could accuse your beautiful artwork for the Curator, Clipped Wings, Sawdust and Delicious series to be a product of 'creative laziness'. ;)

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Traditional Abstractions (KS)

I thought the designs looked bizarre at first too, but when I looked through the Kickstarter page I realised he must've spent a lot of time drawing in all the things that fit his Californian theme, so I don't think he's merely making his cards different for the sake of being different. I like that cut-and-paste zine aesthetic, especially with the limited color palette, but as you said this will not appeal to everyone. It's fine, some people didn't like Jackson's beautiful Fed 52 series. ???

I did offer him some points about making his deck more functional and appealing to cardists and collectors - I hope he takes some of them into consideration. ;)

Don, Fab.com has kept Steampunk and Rebel decks in stock for a few months now. It used to be $5.75 for a set of silver and bronze Steampunks and $9.50 for two Rebels, but the prices have gone up recently. It's $11.90 and $13.90 respectively for 2 Steampunks and 2 Rebels now. They also have the Helveticards.

I love the artwork and colours, so lurid and reminiscent of Pop Art. The designer, Alex, told me that the cards will be printed in California as he wants to keep it local due to sustainability. I'm treating this more as an art showcase much like the Digital Abstract decks.

Bump! I've adjusted some prices and am offering free shipping from Singapore with a minimum purchase.

Mine would be the Boss deck from the Draw Like A Boss Kickstarter. There were only 2500 of them printed and they're not for sale now. I've seen the auctions on eBay closing at $80+. I just had to open up a deck cos I love the artwork! I have two more sealed Boss decks but I think I still would've opened up a deck if I only had one.
