Title: layout change?
Post by: John B. on January 11, 2013, 12:18:19 AM
Did you just change the layout? I really don't like it.

No o_O The only thing I changed are the on/off icons on the front page and the logo at the top

For me the layout has enlarged itself, looks much better to me!

Basically, whereas the layout maybe two days ago was of a fixed, unchanging width, it now changes to accommodate the size of the browser window with only a narrow margin of black on each side.

I like the new change!

Yeah I like the wider post space. :)
On/off icons? I'm lost

on/off icons signify if a board has new posts in it or not.

And yeah I guess the layout did kind of change, I made it go from fixed width to fluid width like Don said, which makes it easier to browse on mobile devices and large resolution HD monitors.

I may lower the fluid width %  in the near future by 5-10% but it's here to stay. Fixed width just doesn't work very well anymore.

you changed the layout again? How do I stop this from happening to me. I liked what I had. :(

The layout only had a minor tweak, that being the size of the font displayed.  It's easier to read.

If that bothers you, many browsers have a feature for zooming the font size up or down on a given web page.  Personally, I happen to like the new size, since it doesn't appear to take up much extra space on the page at all and is so much easier on the eyes - the fact that I'm wearing glasses these days is probably a factor as well!
