Deck design - it's flawed. A good effort, but a little too modern and has court card faces printed into the bleed - a big no-no that allows court cards to be spotted from the top or bottom edge of the deck, with a sharp eye.
Shoe design - the design is indeed clever, but it's more of a purpose issue than a design issue. The only games I usually see played with a shoe are games like blackjack and baccarat/chemin de fer, neither of which are common household games and are typically played with multi-deck shoes to prevent card counters from gaining an edge on the house. The folded-closed position is protective of the cards, but it's awfully long and the shape is less than convenient for anything other than someone's back pants pocket or a coat pocket. Poker games don't use a shoe because the deck is shuffled after every hand - a shoe would only get in the way, and for a skilled dealer, can actually make stunts like second deals easier to get away with, especially with a small-printed, borderless, repeating pattern like the Bee Diamond Back.
I can pass on this one, though it is a good try and has real potential with some redesigning.
