I don't own them myself, but from recollection the difference was in the tuck case. I believe the first edition was matte and the second was blank. Although that was when still in pre-production, so might've been changed.
Yes, I might be the guy you remember from that thing at that place way back when.

I was unaware there even was a difference.  It's probably not so much a version change as it is a tweak for a new print run, ironing out a few imperfections.  Many people confuse tweaked secondary and tertiary print runs with being new versions.

I have several decks of the first edition and the tuck is printed/glossy/embossed, definitely not matte. I don't know about the second edition, though.

I got a deck from the first printing - the box was glossy.  The second is likely the matte-finish box - matte finishes weren't as popular at the time of the first printing as they are today.
