There will only be 1 edition of the black ones . They will be available for sale on Friday for everyone while supplies last. After that, blue crown will offer them as prizes.

aight, thanks for that. with so many decks coming out if i get some cool, if not that's ok too. I almost think i'd rather use the money to buy 4 of each v2 colors. With all these limited cards coming out i feel like i am buying a bunch of cards i can't even use!!

Well it seems like you're out of luck. I would either wait for a contest (since they will be contest prizes) , or I would see if a friend or family member could pick some up for you, and you could just pay him in advance or just promise to pay him back.

I would choose to use my money from scholarship to buy decks from reseller.

I'll pick up a few of these to resell and fund my collection that involves decks that aren't simple recolorations.
I'm saving up for a few awesome upcoming decks made by people that take design a tad more seriously. Crown decks are for performance - and they're darn good for it too. As a piece of art? Not so much. That's just my opinion.

Not to be a nitpicker, but Thanksgiving actually took place AFTER the settlers arrived, perhaps by a few years. From Wikipedia:

The Eastern Time Zone (US) is off daylight saving time, while the east coast of Oz still is. I'm assuming you're in the same time zone as Sydney. If so, you're 16 hours ahead of that TZ.

Its impossible to know until they're selling on ebay.... but the blacks are more limited and there will only be 1 version of blacks.

Originally I was planning on buying 4 decks but as you guys have said, shipping was a bit ridiculous. So I ended up ordering 2 decks for my collection. Shipping for 2 decks to canada was 10 bucks....so thats not too bad but having 3 decks was ~$15 for shipping, not worth it in my opinion.

I have $70 shipping for snail mail for 15 decks, and $444 shipping for express mail.
Yeah, Blue Crown is garbage. I'll be skipping out on this release. I don't care if the cards are limited, you can't even make back the money you spend to break even because of that ridiculous shipping.
I feel sorry for those of you that got the horrible shipping quote and ended up paying.

How the hell did you manage that CBJ? I took the exact same shipping method as you have and still was charged $10 for shipping even though I only bought 2 deck.... Somebody's got some splainin to do. >:(

Are they based in Canada or something? How are you guys getting shipping so cheaply. I tried half a brick just now shipped domestically and getting it in any time span under ten days was over $100...
To give you guys a little shipping perspective, the actual cost of shipping up to 16 decks domestically is under $7 with USPS. Even if you include a 500% handling fee, that's still half the price of what these guys are charging.

There is obviously a large glitch in their system. It would be impossible for them to give that shipping price to CBJ ( Canada ) or FofH ( Australia ). I would assume they are located in the states because the shipping options given to me as an international buyer are USPS.

when I ordered a brick of greens it was $9 shipping but when I just got the 3 decks its $15 shipping!
And some guy bought 120 Black Crowns and paid $6 for shipping but I buy 3 and pay $15 for shipping??!?!?! I wanted 6 but the shipping was just too much!

There is obviously a large glitch in their system. It would be impossible for them to give that shipping price to CBJ ( Canada ) or FofH ( Australia ). I would assume they are located in the states because the shipping options given to me as an international buyer are USPS.
I had originally put in 4 decks, and shipping was crazy.
So I thought.. I'll add come v2s since I'm paying for the shipping anyway. I went back and added them, and when it calculated the shipping for the 7 decks... it was the new price.

i had a ~$141 worth of cards after a ~$25 discount. then a shipping cost of $4.98 to canada (o.O???). but then the subtotal was at ~$167 then total at $171. how did that add up? (btw i never got to the actual check-out page...)

NYC is correct. I live 2 hrs away from there. I'd rather drive to their warehouse and pick them up myself.

I don't think it's a glitch, but a typo in their calculations since I am assuming their cart CMS has them manually enter how to calculate shipping costs. I think some goofball put in a certain price per deck for each shipping method and this is the result.

Often browsers/servers save a old version of the site for you to access while the other is down. I'm sure that is whats going on. When the site is fixed and goes back online, you'll switch from the "snapshot" to the live site.

I really look forward to what the Blue Crown will come up with to follow up this series. This deck was very elegant looking and I really liked it; HOWEVER, the design seemed easy to come up with since it pertained to the company name. It should be interesting to see what style of design and what not they come up with. Maybe we'll see the first custom court cards from The Blue Crown.

Well I made my order. Shipping was $8.65 for parcel post and only $0.30 for the next best one, so I went with that.

Not to be harsh but The Blue Crown does not owe you anything. Sh!t happens and life moves on, just because an item is in your cart does not mean your own it. They may be ridiculously nice for what ever reason and offer something but I am doubtful they will and I would not if I was in their position. Imagine if everyone who complained about not getting a Red artifice got compensation.......Again, not to be rude, but I think it is extremely immature of you to feel some sort of entitlement of the two decks of cards because of something that is out of their control.

Interessting,now when i place 3 decks in my cart it says 12,60USD instead of 16,17USD which i had paid. (for shipping)

Well I think I managed to get some Black Crowns before the site crashed but I can't see my order on their website, I do however have a confirmation email. There wasn't many issues when I went jumped on the site other than it was slightly slower than usual and they didn't have the items at first.

Hi everyone. We'll make a more in-depth post later on, but I wanted to pop in briefly this morning.
First off, thanks to everyone for your support! We know that things with the launch didn't go 100% smoothly, but rest assured, we will be working non-stop until things get resolved.
Of course the crazy shipping rates were a glitch. We're crazy, but not that crazy! Problems are being resolved quickly, and all emails will be addressed.
If you have a problem with your order, the best thing to do is email shipping {at} thebluecrown.com (in a standard email address format) to make sure you're taken care of. We appreciate feedback on Facebook and on the forums, but going through official email channels is the best way to ensure that things are being dealt with in the quickest way possible.
Overall, the site was down for a very short period of time. The Black Crowns and some other items were pulled during the outage, so they definitely did not go out of stock while the site was down.
I can not emphasize enough how many sleepless hours Alex, our webmaster Nick, and the rest of the team have been putting in to make everything as smooth as possible and to resolve any problems quickly. These guys strive for perfection and will not rest until everything is right.

Are they based in Canada or something? How are you guys getting shipping so cheaply. I tried half a brick just now shipped domestically and getting it in any time span under ten days was over $100...
I actually discovered they're based practically in my neighborhood! I could probably drive to Blue Crown in about 15 minutes - they're in Rego Park, which is a neighborhood in Queens, which is a borough of NYC.
NYC is correct. I live 2 hrs away from there. I'd rather drive to their warehouse and pick them up myself.

I bought a brick very early - it might have had something to do with my proximity to their servers that allowed me to get in. Also three each of the v2 colors. Total shipping by Priority Mail is only $8.10.
It would seem I was one of the lucky ones.
A few of you here got shut out; I might be willing to make a very reasonable deal, cheaper than you'll find on eBay. PM me and we'll talk.
Part of the reason I got the brick was to resell some, but I don't mind parting with them for below after-market.

Just a quick update for any curious - There was a definite glitch in the shipping that went two ways - some people were overcharged for shipping, and some people were undercharged. this happened only with orders before the site went down. We are going through each of those orders and recalculating the shipping costs.
We have NO idea why this happened yet - might have been thousands of people trying to access shipping quotes at the same time? Tech is still working on this to figure it out.
Anywayyy, the majority of the team is located in Rego Park - however our warehouse is in New Jersey.
For those of you around the area, I am randomly at Tannens or Fantasma if anyone wants to meet up!

What is really upsetting are the people email us after hearing the chatter on facebook/forums demanding to refund them money when they paid $5 shipping to who knows where! Lol, really?

Isn't it against the Terms of Use to sell an item you don't even yet possess? I mean, the plane shipping the cards could blow up on the tarmac or something, or there could be a fire at the shipping company's warehouse - then what do you do? You've just sold vaporware... "For sale, one Black Crown deck, looks a like like a puff from a Pure Smoke machine..."
It doesn't surprise me that the price shot up, but it's too hard to say what the real value is until the market stabilizes. It's the same thing that happens after E runs a special deal on Gold Arcanes - the market gets flooded with them and the price drops. Within a few weeks, the market stabilizes and the prices go back to about where they were before, maybe only a little less due to some satiated demand.
In other words, I suspect these will go up in value/sale price, not down.

The V2 cards are the same as V1 except for the shadowing on the backs so I would assume they handle the same as the V1 which would me they handle very very well!

Actually no, I held off on buying them. My philosophy right now is to buy the rare cards that I want, like the Black Crowns and such, and when I get more money, I will buy the more abundant decks that I want, but they really do look nice.
I have never owned a crown deck, and I am looking forward to the Black Crowns, and if I like them enough, I will buy the other colors.

If you get the v2 decks (and perhaps some other cool magic or accessories) from BC to get the Black Crowns, the Black Crowns are the icing on the cake - free. Why pay eBay prices? Plus, aren't they having a cool holiday contest as well, with loads of great prizes? You don't get a chance to win anything more than the Black Crowns if you buy them on eBay.

Buy on BC: purchase $200 of merch to get free deck: get $200 of merch plus free deck.
If he was there earlier today he could have ordered a load of white Arrcos on the shopping cart to go with the v2 Crowns and crossed the $200 line very quickly. Those Arrcos will sell quickly, I feel - BC's already out and NYMP sold off nearly a thousand when I checked a little while ago. I doubt they're going to last through the weekend.

Yeah free black crown decks on top of all that merchandise is awesome! But I would just wait and get one or two on ebay if I were Knobz. I wouldn't drop that much money in order to get black crowns.
I'm pretty amazed at how many people have made big buys lately, or at least it seems that way from what I've heard here on the Discourse. I've been trying to play it smart with all the new releases. I got some Black Crowns, The Vortex deck, and some White Arrcos. I didn't do any of the big deals for white cents. or brown wynns. I've been trying to save up for some of the releases coming up.
To stay on topic, I can't wait to get my black crowns. Hopefully they get everything sorted out and the decks get shipped soon. I would laugh if my White Arrcos got here before the Black Crowns did. ;)

I hear ya Phantom. I'm waiting on these, the americana deck, the revision 1 deck, the decks I ordered from the discourse holiday sale! Lots of waiting!! But it's all good haha. The only deck I know has shipped is the white arrcos haha

Dan and dave are shipping the week of the 5th, and i contacted customer service for an exact date and it is from today on they should be shipping.

I know it's crazy, I order something the Sunday after Black Friday, and I've already gotten it in the mail. As where with the Black Crowns, I haven't even gotten my shipping confirmation yet. What is up? They should do what Alex is doing, taking one order at a time and get quickly through it. And why are they choosing to move to a new warehouse how, I dont't really think this is the best time.

My only logical guess is that although The Blue Crown was selling them, maybe NYMP was holding onto those decks and shipping them through their warehouse.

There is no easy way to explain why it is taking so long to process these orders. There were a lot of problems that we weren't ready for, and yes this was our fault - we are manually putting each order back in (mainly the black crown orders since those were the orders that got messed up), refunding people where needed for shipping costs, adding t-shirt sizes to the orders, etc- this is why those orders are taking longer than others. We are a very small team and working non-stop. We moved to a new warehouse to handle the amount of orders placed. All that plus taking care of other orders (cyber monday, etc) make it very hard to catch up quickly - I hope everyone can somewhat understand. Other sites (as mentioned above) still have no shipped some orders also WITHOUT having any problems.
Anywayssss, enough crying from me - on to the good news? Ok...
The good news is that we ALWAYS put the customers first - we always listen to your feedback and needs. We never planned on printing v2 edition of the Crown Deck, but so many people wanted to actually use these cards so we decided to make them and give everyone a chance. So here we are again, where The Blue Crown wants every single customer to be happy ...so what are we going to do?...We are going to give EVERYONE who purchased a Black Crown Deck on Black Friday and is still waiting for their order one FREE Black Crown Deck in their order. That's right...one extra deck absolutely on us to say thank you for the patience!
There is another bit of really good news that we will announce soon (really really good news), but I'll leave that for later
As for now, I hope this keeps you guys from rioting haha, and makes you see that The Blue Crown will do anything in our power to make everyone happy! :p

Wow! big thanks to you Alex, and the Blue Crown. I was planning on getting 3 decks anyways but cut my order down to 2 because of the whole shipping issue ( 2 decks gave me $10 shipping, which is reasonable ). You guys definitely know how to look after your customers!

I thought the Black Crowns were sold out? It's very cool that Blue Crown is willing to give away a free deck for the customer inconvenience, but I was never able to get one in the first place because the "volume buyers" got to them before I could. I now feel double-cheated !!

@jriffel - There were about 5k printed, and TBC sold about 2-3k - so in return, they have a few extra. I really thank him for this.

Nope. Even more eerie is that when I tried looking up the password for my account, I got a reply that my email address wasn't in their records, despite that I've received a purchase receipt from them as well as the update letter about the Black Crowns.

I've haven't received my order yet either, but at least I'm glad I have the order receipt as proof of purchase. I'm still curious at to what they are doing over there. I have the same dilemma as Good@Sabacc, I can't really access the account I created to purchase the Crowns, I even sent them an email, but I never got confirmation.

I wouldn't say that it is extremely high. The red artifice went for about that much after they sold out. At least I saw many at that price.

I just got my black crowns in the mail today!!They are wonderful! This is one of the most sophisticated and elegant decks I've seen.
The box is very simple. It's all black with a small embossed silver blue crown logo in the bottom right hand corner on the front of the tuck box. Besides that there is on a little writing on the bottom of the box (manufacturing details). There is no seal but the cards do come rapped in cellophane. I think that the box is very nice and it's good to see something simple for a change.
The cards are wonderful! The deck comes with one TBC ad card and a double backer. The backs are awesome! They are black and silver with a white border. This deck has the Arrco faces that you see on all the Blue Crown decks. The cards handle wonderfully and I have very little bad to say about them.
As far as black decks go this is by far one of my favorites!! I think that is very simple yet striking. If you are expecting these to arrive soon you won't be disappointed!

That is awesome! I tend to be a fan of minimalist designs and that tuck box will look sweet in my collection. I am happy they changed the box on the black deck from the standard BC tucks, gives it a little extra special feeling.

Nope, no crown logo on the bottom. Just some manufacturing details as I mentioned in my earlier post.
I think that like loldude said this is one of my favorite boxes now! I haven't seen such a simple box before and this one really works that simple and sleek look. It isn't boring either. I can easily say that this box is up there with the Monarchs, Sentinels, and Jaqk boxes :)

But the cards are kinda disappointing. The fronts are like all the other crown deck (which I'm not a huge fan of)
and I feel that they could have made this deck much more "special". But the back design is really nice!

Yes, that's minimalist, but it's also generic. Black Crown boxes are anything but generic.

Arrco faces are pretty much a signature of the Blue Crown series. How could you expect something different? It's like asking for Arcanes or Sentinels to be made with standard Bicycle faces...

I have yet to see a photo that really does justice to a metallic ink. They rarely manage to capture the reflective properties well. Video comes closer, but only marginally.

When I first opened the deck, the cards felt kinda crappy... didnt fan well and felt weird.
But after using them a little bit, they get better and better! Now they fan perfectly and feel fine!

Well one thing i do want to say is this is not a fake sell-out at all. After sending out all the black decks we counted our inventory and realized (because of the site going down) that we sold less than we intended. Also, not only that, but because of the site going down (which was our fault) many people had them in their shopping carts but couldnt checkout. Of course, we want to make everyone happy as usual, so we are releasing a few more to somewhat fix the problem. This means we are keeping fewer for ourselves, but thats ok, we're not selfish :)
Also, for the arrco cards, because of their popularity, we got more from The New York Magic Project...you guys can still pick up the few left there as well.
As far as the crowns are concerned...half of our stock is almost gone. The release on monday will be the last of this half at a price you cant pass up! The rest will be getting to us from uspc a few weeks after the new year most likely.

This deck comes in a certain stack. Not the normal order that you usually get. Also, mine fanned like crap at first. But after breaking it in, it fans beautifully.

I'm almost 100% sure they would be emptied out! That would be confusing to try to recreate the situation before the server crash.
