For those of you browsing v2, you know what this is. For those of you stuck in v1.5, badges are like achievements. When you do certain things, you unlock the respective badge. Badges range from moderately easy to extremely difficult to achieve. Below is a list of currently active v2 badges, as well as upcoming v2 badges.

15/25 badges listed there are active. They are all retroactive except the posts-per-day ones which you'll have to earn again (that's just how the programming works).

That "blue bull's-eye" is actually the center of the vortex on the Vortex deck's back design.

Odd.

The only issue I can think of is that the badge is calculated by the forum's time which is PST and it's not meshing with your time zone. I'll ask Peuan what's up with that.

True True story. Double and triple posting is spamming and flooding and it is really really annoying and really obvious that one is after post count. ^_^

Anyway, I thought 50 posts in a day would be easy but it porved to be hard. since i don't JUST reply because I want to up my counts. ***sigh***. oh well. tis fine. In due time then. Its going to all fall into place together!

I'm really really excited for the other badges to come out.

Yeah I see some adjustments being made for the past hour or so. I'm hoping some badges could be replaced with new looks cause they double. And I also liked the Sales badge with the currency sign instead of the diamond. Maybe 200 new topics with a light bulb? (I hope Peuan's reading this, if she's the one working on it).

By the way, @brown_baggs, you've got a lolaq badge with less than 200 posts! (Enjoy it while it lasts...

Hey guys, I just added some new badges. We had to do a little reordering, which resulted in a resetting of some badges. Don't worry about it though; once you log in and load the page, they should be back.

Contrary to what Alex said above :-X , there are still some which are still not implemented. When they're all done, let me know around tomorrow evening if there are still missing or stolen badges (badges that shouldn't be there).

The badges are a nice touch to the forum, creates a little bit of a game within all of the knowledge that is gained from reading and posing in the Discourse. Some of the badges are miles out of my reach, being super busy most of the time with school and other life stuff, but i'll keep truckin away and hopefully pick one some here and there.

1) Any twenty-four hour period.
2) 12:00 midnight to 12:00 midnight in your time zone.
3) 12:00 midnight to 12:00 midnight in HIS time zone: US Pacific Standard Time.

I think 2) is the likeliest.

I know it's not #2 or #3 because I got that badge by posting 100 and 50 times in 24hours, between 9PM and 9PM or the following day.

Alex mentioned previously that we would have negative fame in the new system. I think it was in his daily update on V2 or it might have been somewhere else but I do remember it. I'm not sure what you're referring to. Maybe it's changed but I think that negative fame is suppose to be there so that people who spam can't just hit rock bottom haha

Perhaps at some point Alex changed his mind. If someone's that unpopular, maybe he just locks down their account or something. You start with a small amount of fame practically for signing up, so if some n00b decides to be a troll, he'll lose what little fame he has quickly. But one way or the other, it looks like negative fame is not a feature, it's a bug.

I think a good person to ask about this would be Alex and/or Peuan.

Okay well you were talking about this in two forums and I posted the link to what Alex said in the other forum, so you can go read that. Also we all know that Alex doesn't lock down lightly, or that seems to be the case.

Remember the fame is in beta still so I wouldn't be surprised if it's all ready to go by launch and negative fame is still there but within reason.

I doubt it's gonna stay at all. Some people have been trolling and randomly upfaming/downfaming others without any reference to the contents. I think it's fair for everyone's fame to be reset.

Of course it's fair - we're testing the beta for bugs! Alex wants us to abuse the system while it's being tested so he can evaluate how it's working. He's already caught a few errors in the system which I'm sure are being corrected if they haven't already been.

I'm not having this problem but some people have badges they shouldn't have. For example some people with 100 fame have the 250+ fame badge....

Baggs is the only one who has or has ever had more than 250 fame. And the badge isn't for if they get 250+ at one point. It's for if they have it currently.

No, as long as you've reached 250 fame at any point in time, you'll keep the badge. This is important since you can spend your fame in the shop, so it can go down.
