Title: Moonshine Deck, from Enigma, Ltd.
Post by: Don Boyer on January 31, 2013, 11:22:10 AM
This deck appears to be from a British company and is timed (along with the company's website) to become available during the Blackpool convention.  52cartes has a preview video.

I like it. the back seems like sort of a fusion between the Vision deck and the Ghoul Note deck. I think it maintains a nice, elegant feel while still being slightly rustic. Cool ace, too.
Hope the court cards look just as nice.

ooooh lala! I love this! I wish there were more photos. I like the back a lot and I love the papyrus feel and the not so busy design. So their website only shows a countdown to the release but no additional information or image releases yet right? **sad**

from those images the deck looks pretty cool, although I'll obviously wait for more before deciding on whether to get it or not. I do love moonshine though.....................

Wow! Definitely one of my favorite decks in terms of design. Can't wait to try it :)

If you didn't notice it yet, the double question marks on the back of the card are of the same design as the "i" and the "g" in the company logo...

I, too, am looking forward to this one.  It looks like it's going to be a rather classy "weathered look" deck rather than gimmicky.  (Oh, filthy lucre, why doth thou forsake me so...?  :)) )

These look really cool. They have a very mysterious look to them. I just hope that they're fully custom.

Still hooked on fully custom, aye, Evan?  :))

I'm interested, full-custom or not.  It's simply a matter of what the budget can withstand.

The producer of the Moonshine Deck came onto UC last week and said it. He said it wasn't in the budget for their first deck. It sounds like they paid a freelance designer to create the Back, Tuck, AOS and Jokers.

Those 4 elements look great though!

Thanks, Randy

Hey everyone!

Lloyd Banes here. I am the designer of the Moonshine deck. Thank you everyone for all of the good words and compliments, they're hugely appreciated. I was proper nervous about putting something out on such a grand scale.

I just found this site and firstly I want to clarify that I did not hire a graphic designer, I designed them myself, something that I'm really proud of.

The reason we couldn't afford custom artwork on every face, is because The USPCC actually charge extra for custom faces. I didn't know this until it came down to it. Bad times. Anyway, I've just secured the money needed for 10,000 more decks. So out of that, we'll have a 2nd run of these, but with matte tuck boxes, embossing and possibly custom faces. I am a fan of traditional faces however, so it's a decision I'm gonna have to think over.

Also out of the 10,000 decks I've got secured, we're going to do a 'Midnight Edition'. You heard it here first ;)

You guys can stay up to date on these mainly through our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/EnigmaLtd (https://www.facebook.com/EnigmaLtd)

Anyway, I'm rambling now. Hope you are all well, feel through to hurl questions at me.

Cheers,

Lloyd

I'd love to see custom faces. With the artwork that you've done on this deck, I'm sure you'd make some cool court cards!

Are these being actually released at the Blackpool convention, or released at the same time as it? Im probably going either way, but this will probably sway my decision!

I'm quite excited to see this deck, especially as its a product of the UK!

Cheers for the interest. These are being released at Blackpool but unfortunately, the dealer hall has been fully booked for some time, so we won't be in there (unless someone drops out). However, we may be arranging something cool going on in the Ruskin.

I'll be around the convention all weekend though and will have a couple of bricks on me at all times, available for purchase. If you've got Facebook, follow our page and we can message everyone to say where we are during the course of the weekend. https://www.facebook.com/EnigmaLtd (https://www.facebook.com/EnigmaLtd)

Evan; I'll see what I can do :)

The UK?  You do realize that USPC is making the deck, not UKPC...  :))

I'm looking forward to seeing this deck as well.  The box alone has already caught my interest.  Lloyd, feel free to post some images here when they're ready!

Lloyd, do you have any update on the server crash? I tried to order them when they went on sale, but the cards kept disappearing out of my cart. Shortly thereafter, I saw the message about the Enigma servers having crashed due to overwhelming demand. I am still seeing that message when I go to the site, and I was just curious if you had heard an update on when they may be back up.

Thanks!

Nearly twelve hours later, I'm still seeing the server crash notice.  I'm betting they're a little underpowered, didn't expect the demand they got.  Re-release any time soon?

It might have been more than an overload of traffic.  They might have been hacked.

Adam beat me to it!  :-[ haha

www.enigmaltd.com (http://www.enigmaltd.com) is now live. Thank you everyone for your patience with this, we didn't expect that much traffic to crash our server. And with being at Blackpool, things were manic. Everything is back to normal now, running smoothly.

Thank you all for the support!

Cheers,

Lloyd

I'm still having problems ordering (from an iPad). I select US for the country, but the state drop-down box does nothing, so I can't select a state. I'll try again tomorrow from a PC. I'm not sure if it's Safari, or the site.

I got in my order for two - looking forward to seeing these AND the second version you have planned...

PS: you might wish to update your "News" section on the site.  The most recent posting is from July, 2012...

There are other browsers available for iOS - many of which are free.  Perhaps you could try one of those?

I order two decks!  :D

It was a little problem when I tried to pay, paypal refusing payment. Finally I succeeded, paypal making payment twice to Enigma, but I do not know why. Maybe it was a problem. I called the bank, checked, money was returned. Everything has been done well :)
