Poll

What is your opinion regarding the extra card w/credits?

Regular backs on both, credits on one in small print, AC ad on the other.
Credits on both sides of one in medium-sized print, AC ad on the other with regular back.
Credits on three sides in regular print, AC ad on the fourth.
I really couldn't give a flying fig and have no opinion - do what thou wilst.
I want something different, and I'll describe it in a post below...

I acctually really like that design I think you should add some legs on it though and it is something different that I think will look pretty cool on a card :)

Thanks. My plan is this is half of the card, and I was going to mirror it onto the other half. Obviously this is no where near being finished, and I will be trying out different things.

Sweet I dont think you should mirror that king though I think it would look better just one of them and just standing there. Maybe even put in a easy grass design and I think that would look cool :)

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.

NEW BACK DESIGN IDEA:

This is just an idea. It's expandable. i realize right now it's a one way back but I can change that if you guys like the idea.

That acctually looks pretty sweet! I think you should turn the bottom half of the D`s so it is a 2-way design.

It looks good, but I think the legs might look weird when mirrored, but who knows. I will be trying all different things to see what looks best.

That back design looks really nice! If you could make it a non-one-way back it would look even better. So switch the D's and work on have the spades not all point down; try to switch the direction in the middle. It's a good start though  :D

For the back design, I like it, but I think I actually preferred the other one better. If you decide to pick this one, maybe some of the spade symbol thingys could spell out discourse in red. Of course, I think this should be a 2 way design.
For the King, I really like it, and, not to bash on you, Aaron, but I prefer the version without the legs. I thin i would look really neat with it mirrored in 4 directions.
For the AoS, I think it should be done with our signatures, as originally planned.

If you reduce the number of spades per point to only four, or increase it to six, it would be easier to make a classy two-way design.

You can also consider including other suits, if they look good there.

If you make the points smaller, you can spell "DISCOURSE" vertically on each side edge, perhaps in a shade of deep red.

I have an idea for the Ace of Spades.  Make the actual big pip as plain as possible.  Write signatures all across the card.  When printing them on a white background, make them black, and when printing them on the black spade, change that part of the signature to white.  I think it would look really sweet.  Can you envision what I'm thinking of?

I get what you're saying. It'd be like an inverse of the black and white, right?

Precisely.  When writing in the background, the lines of the signatures are black on a white surface.  When writing on the ace pip in the center, the lines of the signature are white on a black background.  The lines will transition as signatures overlap and move from the white through the black and back again.

@Don This is a great idea, but I think a black ace of spades may be too classic. Maybe white on dark blue? Navy? It would be nice to just try that out.

I have to admit, that back design is pretty sweet but I'm going to have to agree with Don here. If we're going to go with that design, you should work on the half line so we can have the D's both ways and reduce or add more spades to keep it even.

Another suggestion would be keep that layout and flip the other images, like an alternating pattern.

Thanks for the input everyone! i knew it would need to be tweaked and I have some great ideas. I'm going to try to make it only made of 4 pips. This will make it easy for a 2 way back.
QUESTION: If it's 4 pips, should i make it look like a plus sign or an 'X'? I'll also make it small enough so I can spell DISCOURSE down each side. I think that would be awesome  :-* :-* :-*

Hey Derek,

I think the back looks great but the edges look like they need to be contained.
Also, what about throwing in a background color with a little Inner Glow and a subtle
stroke to beef it up a little?

I did a quick mockup on your lo res to illustrate what I'm referring to.

thanks, Randy

— I just noticed, if you do something like my mockup the pattern should probably extend a little
where there are current empty spots. Just a few more duplications on the sides, top and bottom would
do it!
