I never really saw the point in collecting uncuts and putting them in a poster frame.

But OMG, These are amazing.  This is the uncut collection from the same guy bringing us the Seasons Decks.

AMAZING!

Really, I am blown away by these!

You can check them out here

I need to find out where these were done.

To my knowledge the uncut sheets do not come with a title on it like "Dan & Dave Smoke and Mirrors," did he add that himself? If anyone can confirm that'd be awesome because they look awesome and I would be much more interested if they do have them.

Going along the same line of thought... are they actual uncut sheets or reprints? It looks like a reprint with a fancy border around it.  I like the idea/style of it, but I would be cautious when plunking down money for it though.

--- edit ---

I am dumb, they are for a personal collection not for sale. Oops!  :P

The panels behind these uncuts were designed and printed by the owner of this collection.

He just happens to be Alex Chin, the creator of the Seasons Playing Cards.

So, is there any surprise they look AMAZING!?

I wish I had that Black Ghost 1st Edition uncut... I know just where I'd put it!

The sentinels uncut looks wired IMO. And I think E gave the first Ed black ghost uncut some years ago as a lucky draw prize. Link posted down below.

So rumor has it, once the site is up and running he may do a tutorial on how to make our uncuts look as sick as his. Crossing my fingers.

He's not allowed to sell them without paying royalties to the companies.

But if somehow he payed the royalties.. the poster backs would sell like hotcakes!

He did mention something about that. Thus why he suggested a tutorial on how to make them ourselves...not sell the designs. He would get into some hot water that way.

Whenever you sell something that has trademarked company logos, etc... you must pay a royalty, and get permission from that company.

That's the way the world goes around...

So, this is not an uncut but is framed! I decided to put some of the more interesting card backs, jokers, gaffs etc into a frame to hang up in my office. (I don't do magic or play games, don't need any of those extra cards so figured this is better than in a drawer somewhere).

Just used a little foam core, some matte board and a cheap frame from the craft store and arranged 25 cards on it. I think it turned out pretty nice. Of course, as soon as I get more decks I'll have to do another one...

It's great the Bicycle Uncuts are so cheap, instead of getting two "high-end" decks, you can just get one of these. Now framing the sheets are another story.

You must have made this recently.  It has the Fantastique deck in it.

Looks amazing.

How did you get the cards to look so evenly spaced

You are right, I just put it together this weekend. The overall size is 18"x24" and I found that a 5 x 5 grid worked nicely and left some space on the sides (approximately 2 3/8"). I'm a graphic designer by trade, so I just did a little measuring to get the top and bottom corner cards in the right spots, used a straightedge to get the top row in place, and then eyeballed the rest. I used "Scotch Photo Splits" which are these tiny adhesive squares, I think used by people that scrapbook, to stick the cards to the board. They seem strong enough to hold it, but can peel off without major damage to the cards.

Wasn't too hard to put together and turned out nicely I think. Could probably put another one together for $20-25 or so, with just a little time for cutting the matte board and doing some measuring. I just need more decks now, so that I can get 25 extra cards worthy of displaying. :)

Here's a few other pics, detail views of this little thing, should anyone be interested...

I really like the idea here. I think if I were to do something similar, I would keep all the cards facing one way. Maybe do one with backs and one with fronts, but not both in the same frame.

Mystery is the basic appeal of magic. Once the secrets are known, the magician becomes a mere manipulator, an actor in a suspense drama which has little impact because the audience knows the ending in advance.

Hey,

Those actually belong to Alex Chin (the guy designing the Seasons Decks).  The frame is a poster frame from Walmart.  The backing is something that Alex designed and went to a printer to print.  Almost like a poster.  Then he attached the uncut... BOOyah!!!!  Awesomeness!

should all be standard sized. i mean they're all poker sized cards, i wouldn't imagine they print an extra thick boarder that's gonna be cut anyway.

That 3-layer acrylic would be sweet as a table! Imagine having the uncut protected by two sheets of glass! If it was done right it would be sweet. Having an uncut sheet as a coffee table 8)

Imagine having the uncut protected by two sheets of glass! If it was done right it would be sweet. Having an uncut sheet as a coffee table 8)

This is a breakfast shop in Taiwan, yes, people have their breakfast on these tables. (I stole the pics this time)

Those look really cool, and since they are protected it isn`t a waste of decks.

I have 1 framed uncut and it is a Deck One deck from T11.
People say nothing's impossible, but I do nothing everyday.

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.

I believe it should look even better in brown_bagg coffee table. This is simply... a breakfast shop, the tables, the chairs, and the atmosphere are not good enough. :P

Actually I have 3 Deck One (from T11) and 3 S&M v5 (from D&D), but never think of framing them. They are still staying in their original tubes :( :(

the measurements of an uncut at 22 1/4 x 26 inches. I have a frame that is I believe 26x30 and it looks good.

The breakfast shop is in Tao-yuan County. I don't know if they are for sale, but I guess not. It is obvious that they are the boss's collection. I won't ask him such an impolite question.

He has a blog, I will give you the link when you need, you will find the address (and many pics) on his blog.

Besides, thanks. Do you know Taiwan also known as "Formosa"? In 1544, when Portuguese sailors passed Taiwan, they jotted down in the ship log "Ilha Formosa" (beautiful island). Now some people here like to use Formosa instead of Taiwan.

I don't know if they have a Michael's Craft Store where you live but I get frames there for my uncut sheets for $20 each. Try going to a craft store next time.

No, we do not have anything like a "Michaels" craft shop. But it is a step up from a regular poster frame... but as I said, they mean business so it has to be a good frame. that reminds me, I forgot to mention which side I was facing out of the frame! if the did it wrong, I'll change it when I get home.

They asked if I want it stuck/glued down... HELL NO! I said just get it in there without any form of glue

Were those custom framed? If not, where did you get the frames? Thanks

Those were a 24x30 frame from Michaels, normally $20 but on sale for a sweet $7. They have real glass, not plastic and I bought a couple sheets of black matte board to put behind the sheets. So less than $20 each this time.

Awesome! I got my plastic, decent looking ones at Michael's for $20. Next time, I'll look for that one you got, or something similar.
