I absolutely love borderless cards, I think they're the best for gambling routines and i love the way they look. I only know of the erdnaseum, the vintage plaids, and standard casino style bees. I was wondering what are some of your favorites?!

Mine would have to be the plaids and the Erdnaseum. I love the pattern on the plaids (because I'm old fashioned like that :P) and I love what they did with the S.W. Edanase on the back and stuff of the Erdnaseum!

Well off the top of my head I can't name them all (I will tell you later), but there's already the Limited Edition series among those already named before.
Also, how's our trade going on? Can you shoot me an email please?

For me, it would have to be the Vintage Plaids (of course!) and the Artifice deck. Those are probably the best out there. The Vintage Plaid is wonderful because it's a mix of a traditional Bee deck with additional spice. Basically, these Plaids are not what you would ordinarily see.

Don't want to be off topic but I dislike the look of the plaids very much. Love the handling, hate the looks and the sexist box ;) I much rather like bees.

Don't mind me asking, but how is the box sexist? It's just made out of this leathery, cardboard substance?

It's not really sexist. It's just that it says "Fine Playing Cards for Gentlemen". I'm a strong feminist (maybe too much so). Why can't women own/use fine playing cards. I understand it's part of the theme of the deck though.

Modern feminists are female supremacists. That's all I have to say. ::)
And nitpicking like you are is one of their faults.

...That said, it's also my favorite, but only the arizona red. Don't really care for the other. Not sure why, since I usually only buy blue decks...

Steamboats.  Best borderless cards.  Ever.

There's a bunch of Bee variations (like the casino grade 'Bumble Bee'), Hoyle PGC (which suck), the Gemaco Alpha series casino decks are all borderless, I think.  If you're talking about USPCC decks (ones that handle well) it'll have to be some kind of Bee or if you can find Steamboats, buy them all, they're amazing.

I got a deck of Cadets over the weekend and I like them.  But they're not as good for flourishing and magic.  First, they're miniatures.  Second, they're about 120 years old...  But they have almost exactly the same back pattern as the Vintage Plaids in California Blue.  That pattern's been around a LOOOOOOOONG time.

It's a very nice deck, but it's not really borderless though. The borders are black.

I guess we all have different believes of what borderless cards are. The reason why I mentioned the Limited Edition #2s is because the borders on the back are blue while the ones on the faces are white.
However for the Limited Editions #1, the borders on front and back are both white, and on the Seronda, they are both black.

I consider Arcanes as bordered cards as well. The white ones have white faces and white borders, while the black ones have black faces and borders.
A bordered deck for me is when, if you put one card upside down in the deck, you won't be able to notice that card if you look at the sides of the deck. This is the case for both Arcanes, and Shadow Masters, etc.

OK, let's do this - let's define what "borderless backs" actually means.

One possible definition would be any deck that prints into the bleed.  This would include all patterned backs that extend beyond the cut, but it would also include all the colored decks as well.  Every black deck would be considered borderless.

My preferred definition is one that has a PATTERN that prints into the bleed.  That sounds like more of a true definition, especially from a card mechanic's perspective.  A black deck might not help a cheating gambler, while a deck with patterns going off the edge of the card would certainly help.

With that definition, there's fewer choices, but it's better defined.

Limited Ed. decks - no
any black deck with a black edge, regardless of front colors - no
any colored deck with a matching edge, regardless of front colors - no
Steamboats, Bee Diamond Backs, Vintage Plaids (and other cards using the same classic patterns) - YES

I consider Arcanes as bordered cards as well. The white ones have white faces and white borders, while the black ones have black faces and borders.
A borderless deck for me is when, if you put one card upside down in the deck, you won't be able to notice that card if you look at the sides of the deck. This is the case for both Arcanes, and Shadow Masters, etc.

Uh, Nathan?  You just contradicted yourself.  Arcanes can't be both bordered (as in your first paragraph) and borderless (as in your second paragraph).

BORDERLESS means the back DESIGN, and not simply the color, extends beyond the edge of the card and is printed into the bleed area surrounding the card.

This turned into quite the discussion!! I think my definition of borderless is very similar to Dons. I really think there should be more cards like the vintage plaid and the steamboats. But then again how creative can you be with those kind of patterns before they start to look the same. As someone said before, even the vintage plaids aren't a completely original design.

It's interesting that I had changed my post and choice from Seronda to the Artifice V1 almost immediately after posting it. Before reading Nathan's comment, I came to the conclusionthat people probably wouldn't consider it a borderless card. And my post, which was barely up for 30-seconds has been copied quite a few times. It just goes to show the memory of internet.

Well, they're still printed into the bleed, but that simply means they have a colored border, or that if the entire back is predominantly a single color, it's a (name color here) deck.

Artifice V1 - blue or red design on a black-bordered back
Artifice V2 - blue or green design on a white-bordered back
Arcane - black deck (for the black one), white deck (for the white one).

The only nit-picking difference I see would be for the decks that don't have a clearly defined border.  White Arcane decks don't really have a clearly defined border on their backs, though there is space between the edge of the paper and the edge of the back design.  So the Ghost deck would be a white deck with a white border, and the Black Ghost deck would be a black deck with a black border - they're based on the Rider Back, which has a clearly defined border.

In order to call a deck borderless, you need to know what "borderless" means in a real sense.

I'm pretty fond of the Vintage Plaids for some bizarre reason.  I think it has less to do with being borderless and more to do with being vintage in appearance.  They do look like the sort of deck my grandpa would've been playing with on a camping trip.

@Don... I think the Vintage Plaids are great... I love the throwback to the early 1900s Bicycle Arizona Backs and Steamboat Backs as well... I have a quite a few vintage decks with the same plaid as the new and flawless handling Vintage D&D Plaid Decks... so Hear Hear...

Did you read what you just quoted?  YES, they're borderless!  They have a patterned back whose pattern extends into the bleed area, past where the card gets cut from the sheet.  They're just like Diamond Back Bees in that sense.  In fact, the Hornets were the first paper deck from BBM to be styled more after Bees than Bikes, right down to the use of Bee stock.  Only two other BBM decks didn't have the Bicycle name: Karnival Dose v1 (which was renamed to Bicycle Karnival Dose Redux for v2) and Karnival Death Heads (which weren't made in Erlanger but instead at Fournier's plant in Vitoria, Spain).
