Discourse v2 has been viewable for staff for a few weeks now, but today marks the official start of beta testing for the skin. All official Aether beta testers have been switched over to the new skin, as well as one lucky person whose name I will not disclose (randomly chosen from a list of people that posted in the last 12 hours). As time goes on, I will be selecting more lucky people that made posts in a certain time frame.

For those of you who are let in on the new skin, I ask a few things:

1. Do not share screenshots with other people. Why? It ruins the surprise for others. However, see reason 2:
2. The skin is largely undeveloped right now. A lot of what we set out to do is complete, but a lot is not yet complete. Therefore, a lot of things look wildly out of place and awkward, or are just flat out impossible to use.
3. Your job begins later, just a few days before release, when we test out glitches.
4. Your Fame counters will be reset, so feel free to upfame/downfame everyone and anyone as much as you like for any reason. Your current Fame is NOT IN ANY WAY an indication of your actual Fame.

Let me know if you have any questions, and feel free to discuss aspects of the new skin here and pique the interest of the unfortunate peoples still using v1. :-X

Sadly, I'm still rocking version 1. Hopefully I'll get to check out the new version sometime soon!

I really don't think saying "let me on the v2" is going to work.
Being a beta tester has to be earned. Spend some time on here, make good posts, and who know what will come for v3!

Beta testers will be doing much more than just testing v2. You guys will be testing the upcoming website as well!

Yeah if it does I'll be sure to use that line to get in as well

Just gotta be patient I suppose (although not gonna lie I'm just a little jealous of you beta testers!). Hope it's awesome and I can't wait to see it (and the new website).

man nothing is going my way to day i won't be able to get the vortex deck i was going to get five but now i can't and i didn't get v2 of the forum that is messed up

Don't be too upset man, everyone will be able to use the V2 soon enough. As for the cards, after they are released, take a look on ebay and I bet you will be able to find some for a reasonable price. Although, you might want to try and look into a paypal account if you are purchasing stuff online, otherwise you are just going to have to give your credit card number over in order to pay.

I'm on V2 and I have to say I'm really excited about it, much more than I thought I would be. The main reason is that the core functionality of everything I want to do has not changed at all, so everything is natural and easy. Oh, and that notification thing that wasn't working a while back? Works great now!

I can tell you that you've got 58 fame if that's any compensation.

I seem to have more fame than anyone else which is really weird. I figured Don would be number 1 but if the time you spend online lurking/reading is a factor then maybe not.

Thanks, I'm flattered! Not yet rocking the v2. Fame is a strangely complex formula, only some of which is known to me.

Yep (I'm on V2 as well) and I can only assume it was from my bout of insomnia over the last little while. I seem to be sleeping much better now, so I assume people will start catching up to me before too long.

Like I said in the initial post, the Fame you guys are seeing now is not your true Fame. I've been upfaming/downfaming you guys like crazy to test functionality. Your Fame will be reset to default upon release.
