So this MIGHT mean that we have 2 editions coming?

That would be interesting...

Another thing that i would like to discuss is the price...

On recent years, every black friday we have seen cheap bricks... $60 each one...

Green Gatorbacks were $60 and Silver Splitspades were $60 too...

My bet is this deck is going to be $60 at launch...

 :D

Im salivating over my phones screen right now...

This are the white lions all over again but with a better tuck case...

Im hoping this come marked too...

Now under heavy observation this look like they are marked... just check the upper left corner of the card in this image... notice anything?

 :bosswalk:

So much knowledge has been exposed in this thread...

Im glad my little comment sparked so much healthy discussion.

Just to clarify, I did say "kind of a reacolor" because i have always considered them like sibling decks just like  the "family" idea that Paul introduced.

yes, this are different designs, and yes they are also of different color.

I cant make myself have more than 1 of them because of... i dont know "reasons" or maybe i just dont love the tally ho design but theres no denying that this are gorgeous.

ADMIN NOTE: This topic developed from a tangential discussion on the Black Diamond Tally Ho deck topic about what is or isn't a recolor or a redesign of a particular deck.  I separated the topic into two separate topics as best I could to preserve the original discussion on the deck while allowing the new topic to continue. - Don Boyer

Wow i wasn't expecting this to create all this backlash.

Please don't take my comments too deeply as harsh as they might sound. I respect Jackson a lot, though i have never been a fan of his projects, i do respect the fact that he has been pushing the boundaries of how decks should look and feel. Quality on his projects shouldn't be questioned (from a designer point of view, I am an architect and do understand the complexity, time and effort he put into his work)

My real issue has been addressed by Don, on how KS was originally intended and how its used nowadays.

I do understand the Metalux technology is not cheap and that Bicycle is charging more for his foil deck with his classic design than Jackson, He is indeed offering way more than that with this project.

The risks of KS can be discussed even more, (as im also an avid video gamer and have been exposed to KS "riskless" projects more than once) but i will leave that for another topic but i would like to mention that there are plenty of articles telling stories of how people just disappear with the money or how they promise something and then never deliver.

The other issue is that this is kind of a recolor  ???

If the metalux tech is the only real difference aside from small tweaks in the design, then its not enough for me to pop $27 on 1 deck (my opinion guys), its still a beautiful deck, I like the design and the new color scheme, but after the scarlet tally ho, and the emerald tally ho and the normal tally ho, i guess i will pass on this one.

The deck looks great but i don't like this new trend in KS decks... specially from mister kings wild.

They are getting too expensive for no real reason.

$27 Dollars each deck? for an artificially scarce new deck? With no discount or free shipping or any kind of "reward" to the backers?

I know this decks are not cheap to make, but when you fund all your projects with kickstarter and basically take out the "risk" factor from it, aaand you use someone else's money to create it... then why so expensive? why the need to make it ultra unique? just for the sake of it?

The bubble is just growing...

So for 4 days we have seen the promotion go from only 52 decks to more than a couple of hundreds.

It seems E doesn't care about how many people can buy in that short amount of time. Also this couple of days they have been opening the window 30 minutes earlier.

Marketing strategies?

Anyway, today i didn't see that much hype for the deck.

So many of you may have already seen the emails or announcements at the ellusionist page that the Madison Revolvers are going to be available for only 6 days (it started yesterday), in groups of 52 each day. Today, MONDAY, they were sold out in a minute.... 1 minute.

I dont know if Ellusionist are geniuses or what...

Problem is (just like with David Blaines Red Gator Backs) you can buy all 52 decks if you are fast enough, effectively denying the deck to everybody.

I tried today with no luck.

Tomorrow i might get lucky. This seems to be the Hypest deck fo the year...

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Top Modern Decks to Collect

- Whispering Imps set (not the private reserve ones, which are just a different box)

Do you know the private reserve is made from different company hence different stock and handling?

Yes, but i don't think a lot of the "collectors" of this deck, would want to try that out.

I wont open the deck (not at that price), and the design its the same, so theres no real reason to have one (in my opinion)

Not the full top 20 but...

- Gatorbacks set
- Fontaine set (I dont really like it, but its super popular with the kids)
- Virtuoso set
- Sharps set
- Legends V1 set
- Whispering Imps set (not the private reserve ones, which are just a different box)
- Gnostic Legends set
- JAQK set (not incredible... but also a little bit popular)
- Monarchs V1 set

Download the PDF that comes with the deck.

It explains the system.

Im not going to give it away here but you wont be able to "read" any cards from the preview photos that are at the Blue Crowns Site.
