I like them.  I'm probably not going to buy any (I buy so little these days), but I do like them.

A Big thank you to everyone who backed this project the first time around but I am now very happy to announce its re-launch here on kickstarter!

This one is really for all my fans who backed this project the first time around and some of the encouraging support I received after the campaign ended. After reviewing the funding and some of the costs I am now able to pass on the savings to my backers.

This campaign will run for only 20 days and I plan to get them printed and shipped out as soon as I am able. The live project can be viewed here;

Who is printing them?

I will be using the same printer I used to print the Vivido deck. Have a look at a screenshot of the finished article;

I will be using the same printer I used to print the Vivido deck.

That's about as good as you asking me where I ate brunch this morning and me answering you, "It's the same place I ate brunch the day before."  If one doesn't know the context (who printed the Vivido deck, where I ate lunch the day before), the answer is meaningless.  (Reminds me of the old joke about a drunk calling a taxi service to pick him up - "I'm at the corner of Walk and Don't Walk - wait, hold on...  No, now I'm at the corner of Don't Walk and Walk!")

So, what is the name of the company that is printing this deck?  It's relevant to us, as many of the people here have preferences as to which printer makes their cards - some are known for better quality than others and some are just plain unknown.

Jeeze, responses like that make me not want to support this deck. From the look of the photo, I'm going to take a guess and say it printed by a Games Manufacturer. I'm going to venture a guess it's probably Admagic.

Anything's possible.  Look at the lower left corner of the card in the left of the photo - looks like a fingerprint stain.  Either the guy posing the cards had dirty fingers (and if so, shame on him) or the coating on the paper can't tolerate naturally-occurring skin oils very well.

Hey, that's the shadow of my thumb, notice the light over the cards, its coming from my phone. You can clearly see the cards are coated, there would not be much point on coating the cards if oil on your fingers damaged the decks would there?

If you look at the portion of the photo I circled in red at the bottom left of the image, you'll see what I'm talking about.  That is NOT a shadow.  Click on the image to blow it up and look in the center of the circled area.  It's some kind of smudge on the surface of the card, caused by a finger pressed against it.  The smudge is either from the oils on the finger affecting the coating or something that was on the finger being transferred to the card's surface.

And you still haven't truly answered the question, "Who is printing this deck?"

Well I'm sure you'll be happy to know that this deck is in the final few days and is now over 300% funded  :D

Aren't you the guy who, when asked who's printing his deck, completely and utterly dodged the question with the skill and speed of a quarterback evading a sack while his ass was on fire?  Or was it more like the Road Runner with Wile E. Coyote hot on his trail?  Perhaps it more closely resembled someone watching a space shuttle launch from the top of the left booster rocket, ridin' it like he stole it!

300%, eh?  Actually, it's 355% as I type this - but when the project is this small, the percentage numbers tend to change fast.  355 percent divided by 178 backers means each backer put up just short of 2% each!  An average of...£9.99 each.  Lots of one- and two-deck pledges, it looks like - those are killer when it comes to the postage costs.  Most deck projects lose money on pledges that small.

Yea, I've always thought that's the machine working against itself with single deck tiers. Single deck early bird tiers have never made any sense to me at all since they compound the problem even more. In this case though, this is an expensive no name printer deck. As we all know, an expensive no name printer deck doing well is few and far between. I think that warrants a "Well done". Pledges here are backing the design alone without any expectation of over all deck quality other than they will be playing cards.

It's going to be interesting to see if the no name printer will be able to produce the extremely thin borders, especially in the corners, displayed on the renders. I hope someone posts photos of the deck once it's all said and done and in their hands.

No Printer?  No Sale!  Refuse to answer the question?  I run away as fast as I can.

The early birds work because they spike your early backer numbers fast, and you might lose money on them but when they're limited to a really small number (typically 50 or less), it doesn't usually harm the bottom line as much as it helps on a decent-sized project.  However, this ISN'T a decent-sized project - it's pretty small, and every penny's gonna make a difference to this guy's bottom line.

As far as the thin borders - it's a complete and utter crap shoot.

No Printer?  No Sale!  Refuse to answer the question?  I run away as fast as I can.

...and you haven't slowed down yet, I bet...  :))  There's no good reason on this green Earth to conceal the company that's doing the printing.

I really don't get how some project like this get funded though.. I mean there is no clear indications about who is the manufacturer or who is the fulfilling company, etc.. I wonder if people just backed for the sake of playing cards?

Pretty much.  There are "serendipity" buyers out there.  They leisurely wander from project to project, backing whatever catches their eye.  It can be addicting - appealing to the kind of people who go freaky for shopping channels on TV.  There's also the more casual buyers - someone who wouldn't call themselves a playing card collector, but will buy cool-looking playing cards simply because he or she thinks they're cool-looking.  They're the kinds of buyers who are far less concerned than most fussy collectors are about things like who the manufacturer is, what the stock is, what kind of press was used, etc.

That comment, along with a pic of a dog rolling it's eyes, makes me wonder if you do actually read the comments. Then I realize, given the attitude, I don't even care.

Congratulations on funding, may the secret squirrel be with you.

Why are people like this?   :-\

So weird to me.

My guess is that it's printed by MPC.

They're nice but the guy can't give a solid answer and acts childish.

Congrats tho.

Professionalism at its worst.  A potential customer asks a question in a public forum, you ANSWER it.  Is his printer some kind of state secret or something?  A CIA front?  Keebler elves?  Bangladeshi slave children, chained to the press?  What?

It is very unfortunate, to be honest his design isn't bad at all..

Seriously guys its a deck of cards at £5 not a château-fort in south France, you either back the deck or don't.

If you bothered to read my kickstarter you would see the trivial question that was so important was already answered, but you don't want answers you just enjoy leaving your self important replies about "Thumb prints" and other elitist and irrelevant nonsense.

Don, don't feature any of my future campaigns on your forum  as I don't require the opinions of self righteous elitists such as yourself, hence why I ignore your "questions".

If you find this rude, unfortunately you will just have to go out and get a life.

True, it's a pack of cards, not a piece of valuable real estate.  But we take playing cards seriously around here.  It's pretty much the raison d'être of the website - see, I can use French, too!  We care about who makes them, what they're made of, how they're made and so on.

I read your entire project page and all the updates.  You simply mention that you're using the same printer as your old deck - you never actually named the printer anywhere.  The Vivido deck project page doesn't say who printed it, either - it says it's not MPC and the Ace of Spades says it's "Designed in Great Britain."  That's it.  The MAX Playing Cards article about Vivido states they're printed in Taiwan - but since Taiwan has dozens of printers, that doesn't even narrow it down.  Your Facebook page doesn't say jack about who manufactured either deck.  So your statement about the "trivial" question being answered is a bald-faced lie.

"Self important replies about 'Thumb prints' and other elitist and irrelevant nonsense?"  Did you happen to notice that the other people here were asking the SAME, EXACT QUESTION?  We all got no answer from you worth the paper you didn't print it on.

Come back when you're less full of shit, if you don't mind.  The only self-righteous person on this topic is the one trying to promote a deck but refusing to answer a simple question from his potential customers - or I should say lost customers.  It's a shame because the design wasn't bad at all - I might have even backed it.  But when you dodged a simple question like your ass was on fire, people around here started waving red flags - it made you look like you were being dishonest.  Your indignation is completely unjustified and disingenuous.  The fact that you're now lying about your supposed answer to a "trivial" question (and the fact that you think it's that trivial when obviously you're the only one here who does) isn't exactly improving the situation for you.

As far as the decks we feature around here, we'll feature what we damn well please.  You may or may not like the coverage, but since we're based in the US and the First Amendment to the US Constitution guarantees freedom of speech, too fucking bad.  (See, now you have something to be genuinely upset about with proper justification!  I exercised free speech!)
