Title: What would you do without playing cards?

I LOVE dubstep and i would love to try to produce it if i had the chance.

Post by: Kanped on October 05, 2011, 04:43:54 PM: I actually have an HND in Music Production and I make some electronica stuff from time to time. Unfortunately, knowing how it's made kinda ruins dubstep- you could knock out a track in 10 minutes flat, sorry to blow the illusion.

I really love playing, though (I'm usually a bass player but I can play lots of things). Proof?

If not every, thn almost every Dubstep tune I have ever heard has used one of these free VST plugins to create it (see link), and has let the programmer of this software do all the actual work. They've just chucked some samples together and run it through one of these things; I wouldn't be suprised if it takes less time to make than it does to listen to it.

Uuuuuuh, don't even get me started on Skrillex. I'll try to be as nice as possible, as I don't want to start a flame war - He is ruining what Dubstep TRULY is, which isn't wobbly bass made on Garageband. That's it, I don't want to get into some kind of massive war.

No, you're totally right its not actually dubstep, but i doubt he makes it on garageband. He is a pretty good producer and live performer, if you ever saw sonny perform with from first to last you would have been suprised.

but skrillex, even if he's not true dubstep, is still fun to listen to. at least i think so. music evolves and changes skrillex is just doing his own thing he even says he doesnt make pure dubstep.

Post by: Kanped on October 08, 2011, 01:26:37 PM: He's still just using those plugins I talked about earlier when he does it live; the only difference is that he triggers the effects with a MIDI controller rather than programming it. He's pretty much just pressing 'play' and letting it run.
