Hello everyone!

My name is Robin and I am originally from Sweden, but have lived many years in Japan.

I am a game enthusiast who enjoys everything from classic board games to Dungeons & Dragons, but among everything else card games have always had a very special place in my heart. I played a lot with my family as a child, and nowadays whenever I get the opportunity to travel to the other side of the world and meet my parents, playing cards is usually what we tend to occupy our time with.

The games I grew up with are foremost Oh Hell and Canasta, and they have stayed my favorites to this day.

My major is Japanese comics, but I like to draw all kind of illustrations and hope to eventually become able to draw and design various things for a living. If you are interested in my art you are very welcome to visit my homepage at https://www.robinlindstrom.com

The reason I found this forum is because I have designed an own deck of cards and am currently having a Kickstarter campaign in order to try getting it founded. I will make a separate topic about the project in the Design & Development section. My intention of joining is not merely to show off my design, but I also hope to get some valuable feedback from experienced card players. Hopefully this is only the first deck I create, and I will make sure to take any advice I get in consideration for future projects.

I am also looking forward to find new card games to try out. I am especially interested in games that are rather complex and require much strategy, instead of just relying on luck (of which I have none). In addition, when designing my own cards I learnt about the concepts of "Man with the axe" and "One eyed Jacks" etc. I would like to learn more about how the attributes of these cards are used in some games.

Welcome to the forum,
I checked out your kickstarter deck. I'm all about the jokers so I like the trickster concept.
It's a little pricey to get them shipped from Japan (it would cost more than the decks).
I noticed on your royal cards, the indices has the suit but not which royal they are.
My contribution, such as it is, has been a focus on an organizational system for jokers. It's useful for people like myself who will never be able to remember the country or publisher of each joker. Instead, we need an easy-to-follow visual system... check it out!

Which Kickstarter deck is that?  The forum was, years ago, trying to ?crowd-design? a forum deck, before we were purchased by 52 Plus Joker, but the idea fell apart - too many cooks, etc.

52 Plus Joker produces annual club decks from prominent designers - this year?s deck was released last week, designed by Uusi, and is more than half sold out already. It?s made for sale to members only, though many find their way to the post-retail market at a sharp markup.
