This is wild, but what is crazy is that the guy didn't even look at his credit card for two years... Didn't even bother to take a glance at it!!! 
That's not uncommon for big-money types, which is why it's so much easier to defraud them. The inability to eliminate the information trail, however, means you'll still get caught but it'll take longer and you'll be on the hook for more restitution! Many people who personally control large sums of cash hand over the day-to-day financial affairs to people they've hired to handle those things, leaving them free to look at the big picture (which is how to make even more money!). If said employee pesters his boss about every little purchase, he'll start wondering why he hired you in the first place, which is why it takes a longer string of such purchases to raise a red flag.
