Oh, thanks intlgrrl ... that's my deck. You beat me to starting a thread!

Thanks also to everyone who helped with comments on the thread in the design forum. It's good to have the project live ...

I missed this completely on the design forum. I'm going to go and read the comments. I like reading about the design process

I like the art, but it's a little pricey for an MPC-made deck.  UKĀ£10 - about US$14 - is a bit much.  Granted, your goal is low, so this might not be an issue, but if you fail to make it first time around, consider slightly lower pricing; not radically lower, just a little - enough to make the deck more competitive in price.  The high cost of low-volume printing is why you've got it set so high, so with a lower price and a slightly higher goal, you can get a better per-deck price from the printer, sell more decks and still make a goal that's easy enough to meet.

As imperfect as MPC is, they do a better job these days on the print work, I'll give them that.  Plus they've got the most flexible pricing scheme and lowest print run size available.  Zazzle will do single decks, but no custom faces (USPC standard designs with Bicycle Aces of Spades in standard or custom colors - and "Fashion/full-face," "Tragic Royalty" and "aged-look" faces) and the paper is not even as good a quality level as Bicycle Standard.

Thanks, Don. Fair enough. We shall see how it goes.

Hi Alex, Thanks very much. I appreciate it!
Oh, I have just realised that there are no pics of the cards on this thread ... maybe I should add one or two. Here we go with a couple of photos of the prototype deck:
