I was about to post this. :)
Anyway my thoughts,
Reminds me of Fanangled but not as good.
Repeating courts and one way back. This is a sure pass for me.
And I don't see how "it took a long time" to split a pip in four quadrants and alternately coloring them.

Although it is pretty elegant and clean. I think it will make it. And the deck does look pretty swag.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

  • Facebook:
This is like a Hyundai as compared to the Fanangled Deck's Lincoln Town Car.

What an innovation in pip design - making the red pips look the same at a distance and doing the same for the black pips!  And making ALL of them look like the position markers on a crash test dummy!  Fantastic....-ally bad idea.

This deck is utterly devoid of soul.  A properly-programmed computer could have created this design with no human intervention.

There are many design decisions here which seem quite poor. However, one of them stands out above all the others.

The designer should be slapped mercilessly for writing the word "King" on the face of an ace. Seriously boneheaded decision there.

I think that this deck is brilliant! I think that it differs a lot from Fanangled, however similar in some ways. I think that all the so called "issues" with this deck are intentional because it looks like it wants to differ from the standard deck traits. All around great deck!! I will be picking up a couple.

So Cardguy504  you wouldn't happen to be from Seattle are you? You sound like you could be the creator of the King deck hehehehe...  If so  welcome to the forums.  Either way feel free to visit the intro section to introduce yourself and tell us a bit about yourself

Thanks

Hey, Pierre, now that you mention it... doesn't the back design remind you of the old King County symbol? :)

There are no 3's in rousselle. There are, however, two s's, two l's, two e's (but not in a row), an r, an o, and a u.

That makes us neighbors Cardguy. When I was moderating the UC forums, it would happen a few times where a creator would come on anonymously and praise his deck as the best thing since sliced bread. It would make me smile  that is all.  I am glad you love the deck  and I assume you are pledging for them

Have a great day

The issues are obviously intentional. I don't see how he could miss not seeing that his courts were repeating and that the back is obviously one way. I don't mind different but repeating courts and the noticeably one way back makes it seem like the creators ran out of creative juice.

But if these cards are really your thing then there's no arguing with that. I'm a sucker for gold so if the creators slap some gold I might jump in.

Hey all! I would like to thank you for all the criticism! There were many intentional offs with this deck such as the repeating courts. For the one way back, on the Kickstarter page, I am asking people if they really want a two way back. For the most part it is a yes. That is something I will be fixing in the near future. I apologize for grammar, as I am currently on my phone. Again, thanks! -Cameron.

Yeah this is an easy pass for me. Seems like every time somebody tries to "modernize" playing cards it turns into a big fail. One way back sucks and the pips are atrocious. I can't even tell the difference between the suits!

Just doesn't have that "Second Look" going for it, you just kind of look and keep going by. Needs somehing that pops...grey and white aren't working for me.

I am a fan of minimalist deck but this one just doesn't have... character.

Also, the pips from a far all looks similar. Not really helpful for card games.

The backs have been updated to a two way back design. Pips may be coming to the fixing table next. Thanks -Cameron.

Yeah it's still not great. And why does the ace say king? That could get confusing.

If the deck does not pass, that may be one of the changes made before it is re-uploaded.
