And there is also a year member ship about $100, give you many things. e.g. 15% off every order.
But unfortunately I don't buy that much.

That is what I am saying...they do not have enough actual product to validate a $100 membership for 15% off.

Well, if they're including shipping in that, an awful lot of their stuff is over $100 for me.  Finally ordered IAOCP and it came in at about $105 total.  I got 3 'points' on the loyalty scheme, whatever that means.

Since the book is $65 that's how they determine how many points you get. I kind of think it is weird though because if you spend $100, subtract the 15% that's $85, and then you lose two points.

Heh, if you guys like that you'll love Founder Status. :P Alas, at this rate it looks like the next deck will launch with Kickstarter as well though.

Everyone that pledges on Kickstarter, and if we are lucky enough to ever produce products without Kickstarter, anyone who buys it.

What the heck, I've been working endlessly on the perks, and I want to reveal some of them now:

- You can buy membership for six months, one year, three years, or a lifetime membership.
- Prices decrease the longer the membership you choose. Six months would be along the lines of $20/month, one year would be $12/month, three years would be $6/month. A lifetime membership would be a one-time cost of $400.
- The perks are the best part. First of all, you get free shipping ($8 flat-rate shipping international) on ALL products regardless of quantity (this excludes wholesalers, for obvious reasons).
- You get discounts on EVERY new release. Discounts range from 5%-25%.
- You get to pre-order all products 48 hours before anyone else can pre-order them.
- You get free swag with all shipments. Swag is a contest with every purchase you make. It's completely randomized and the prizes would include anything from a signed card, to uncut sheets, to decks, and whatever else we have produced at the time. No matter what you buy, you have a 100% chance of getting some kind of swag.
- You get to see what we're working on next before we tell any of the public. You'll be added to a mailing list that gets an insider scoop.
- You get your own personal space on the website. On the Founders page, you'll see your full name. The longer you stay a founder, the more space you get. For example, after one year, we will add an avatar of your choosing. This culminates in an entire section of the founders page that will have your picture, website, about you, etc.
- You get a cool Founder badge on the forums

Kickstarter backers automatically get Founders status. I am considering redoing the way I offered it, and giving it based on how much you pledge. For example, a $1 pledge gets you a 1-month membership. $9 gets you a three-month, $27 gets you a 6-month, $52 gets you a 1-year, $95 gets you three years, and $200+ gets you a lifetime.

I know I said it's a permanent thing, and I'm sticking to that as far as you guys want that (I'll be running a poll later and seeing what people demand). It comes down to this: Do I make Founders status a million times more awesome, or do I make it what it was originally going to be (insider's look, free shipping, small discounts) but give all backers the lifetime status?

So yeah.

Sorry for going off-topic.  ;D

Just going to throw my 2 cents into what alex is asking, alex we as a group are basically funding this deck and aether we are you could say the "founding fathers" of aether, so why not get a lifetime for everyone who pledges. Also why is it the kid who pledges 1 dollar get a months while the kid who pledges 9 times that amount only gets 3 months.

Alright back onto topic: I personally don't buy enough from D&D to make this worth my while, now if you getting into flourishing and all that stuff on D&D site and have the money to spend it is prob an amazing deal.

Like I said, lifetime membership is something that will definitely happen as long as people choose mediocre perks in favor of what I described above. With 300+ people that are likely to be our permanent customers I'm in no position to do all of the above for every order. The line is drawn when I'm not even breaking even on the products.

I was just wondering that maybe it's wiser to do the tiered pledging system and add cooler stuff to the program. Loads of people will still get lifetime.

Hmm, fair enough, what if you did a survey type thing with the people who pledged finding out if they are going to stay with the company or are they just a kickstarter/facebook random.

I vote for tiered membership! I am all about bigger better giveaways. And anyone who doesn't already qualify for lifetime can upgrade to lifetime any time they want.

So, at the minute, I'm pledging $183; for the 9 deck, uncut, art piece pack plus international shipping.  If I want to keep this pack but I throw in another $17, does that mean I get the lifetime membership?  Because I'd be foolish not to.

That was also one of the reason I pleaded on this deck.

@Kanped, I believe if you bumped it to $200 you would definitely get the status.
@phantom, I pledged because I believe in this deck, Alex, an his team...the status is just a perk. In addition, we didn't even know the perks until a day or so ago...so how did you pledge on those grounds?

So I'll clear up the confusion:

When we are closer to the end of Kickstarter I will create a poll for you guys to vote in. The options are:

- Lifetime Founder Status for all, but the perks will always be extremely basic (discount shipping, insider sneak peeks)
- Tiered status, the more you pledge the longer you unlock Founder status. This allows me to do all of the perks I mentioned above which cost loads of money in the long run. Why should someone who pledged $1 get free swag for life like the guy who pledged $200? I want everyone to get benefits, but I think with the enhanced perks, getting a free month for $1 is awesome.

Don't forget you're already getting decks and free shipping with your Kickstarter orders. Who else is handing out long term rewards? Nobody. My goal is to get you guys loving AetherCards for more than one release.

Customer satisfaction is a #1 priority for me.

Worldwide will be discounted shipping, like on Kickstarter. NOTHING about the program is set in stone yet, so don't quote me on these things when we begin the Founders program.

OK, so I upped my pledge to $201.  I'm now wondering that since I'm pledging another 18 bucks if I could get another 2 decks?  I know I should have really made another account and all but I'd rather give the extra money pro-bono than go through the process of setting up dummy accounts.  If I can get the 2 extra deck, that'd be real cool, if not; I bet I'm STILL up cash on the shipping.

Yeah I learned my lesson from this Kickstarter and I'll be arranging the next one to allow you to simply pledge more for more decks.

If I let you have a custom order it wouldn't be fair to the loads of people I've denied it to. Is there perhaps another bundle you'd like to upgrade to?

Nah, like I said, I'm saving a bunch on the shipping and price anyway and I'm more than happy to throw in the extra for the founder status and just because it's a really good price for what I'm getting.  I believe in this company, frankly and I think the uncut and art piece are going to be very impressive collector's pieces some day.

How about if there's some of the $18 bundles left after the Kickstarter ends, though?  I don't want to give you the impression that I'm in any way disappointed if I don't get them; I'm really, really not but if they haven't specifically been promised to anyone (big if), would that be workable?

I have an idea.
Why don't you separeate member as gold member, silver member, and plain member?
The gold gets many special things- for the people pledge over 200$.
The silver is only for the first gruop of people who support your deck- discounts at decks and shipping.
And plain might be the 1 month, 1 year for people who didn't pledge on this deck.

$25 more shouldn't be too big of a problem to come up with within a months time, though I do not know your financial situation. Either way, the benefits would be well worth it. I am glad Alex is offering the idea of the tiered system, I feel like the people who have dedicated a large sum of their money to support this deck and company deserve a little bit of recognition.

Platinum Founder
Gold Founder
Silver Founder
Bronze Founder

I will be working on what gets what perks and for how long and I'll make sure to give you guys at least a week or two to decide if you want to upgrade your pledges.

@Kanped: I've been restocking the $18 bundles every week by decreasing the other bundles. Just make a request in  the survey we send out for shipping in December and if there are enough decks I'll add them to your purchase. :)

I love the idea of different memberships.

I will be working on what gets what perks and for how long and I'll make sure to give you guys at least a week or two to decide if you want to upgrade your pledges.

Whatever you will decide, I would like to ask for a lifetime membership for everyone pledge on this vortex deck. (discounts, shipping cheaper, news)

sorry for the misspell, i was on my phone and short on time. also I feel anyone who gets it should have some rewards but those who pledge more should get more.

edit: also if we switch to more you pay (200 + for unlim) is this still good?

each 2,500 posts and you earn Founder Status. If you already have Founder Status from our Kickstarter, then you will instead get a custom forum title and rank of your choosing.

Do you guys even read this? Like I could have the meaning of life here and I doubt you would know it.

I am actually going to modify the initiatives a bit. Gonna make some easier to get and others harder to get.

If I follow through with making Founder status more than shipping discounts and insider scoops, it's a much grander reward, and therefore would require more posts to achieve.

Alex, you do what you do man. You are being more than generous to even offer us incentives beyond the free shipping from Kickstarter. You are the first company and only company to do so. So, you do what you want with all of it and those of us who understand exactly the lengths you are going to satisfy us, will thank you for it.

I am very tempted to buy tons of these decks for the rewards. I will probably limit myself to six though.

Also, will the prizes be cumulative? Like if I spent $50 on your first deck, $20 on your second deck, and $130 on your third, will I be a lifetime member?

Yeah, this is a good idea also.
Cause I don't want much same decks as brick.

Levi, make sure you use the modify button as opposed to double posting, bud. Other than that, your idea seems like an ok idea, but I am thinking after the release of the Vortex that it will probably just go into a "buy a membership" format. I don't think they plan on rapid firing their decks out into the sea of decks being released as it is, would be more wise to wait it out for like a year or something...give it staying power and build anticipation for the next deck.

Thanks an sorry. Not to get off topic, but I'm using my phone to post and I didn't see the modify button on my screen. For now on though I will make sure I do that.

Facts:

Founder status will kick-in when we sell our next release through our website. If we meet the goal needed to fund the next deck without Kickstarter, you guys can enjoy Founder status in just a few months. Otherwise, you will simply be able to get Founder status on the next release again. It would be impossible to keep track of who spent how much with the tools Kickstarter gives us, so you'll simply have another chance to pledge for a new level.

Remember, you're getting it free via Kickstarter - you're not paying a dime for it and the price of the decks is not there to compensate for the costs of implementing future discounts. No matter how much you spend you're winning because you get something for nothing.

Isn't that goal $45000?
Then it's high possibility that no one get founder status this time. T-T

Regardless of the outcome I am honored to be a part of this first deck and a founder. If we achieved founder status on this KS would we have to repeat with a $200+ pledge on the next one in order to retain founder status? Or are we founders for life for doing so on this one? I would like to see you guys be able to just make the site and sell straight from there. I never knew this about making a site, but I was quoted at $5,000 to have a reputable team build my site and make it so I can maintain it without any tech support. So I understand the need for more money just to simply make the site itself.
