Hey Discourse member!

I am looking for the first edition 52 Collectable deck made by Jason from the1eyedjack.com. He recently created the v2 edition of this deck, that of which I bought, and now I am looking for just one deck from the first edition runs.I am willing to pay probably $13 for the deck, but adjustments could be made to the price. I am located in California, and would like to buy from someone in this country . Thanks!

Why would you need to make a gaff deck for a deck designed to be for gamblers, and not magicians? The applications aren't as numerous for the former than the latter.

I'm not active on the forums because of school and athletics, but I am trying to sell off some extra decks I've had. Please view my auction and message me via eBay if you have any questions. Thank you.

They look cool. Not a huge fan of mini decks though... Interesting how little effort was put into their release.

Vortex?
Yes!
That's fun! I saw a Kickstarter project that gave you a way to rubberband some macro lenses to your tablet/mobile device. Are you using the same thing?
You bet it! They're called Easy-Macro.
I received a bunch of lenses from http://photojojo.com/store/ as a gift and they are absolutely incredible....been having a blast shooting with the iPhone.
I bet they didn't cost only $10....and fit flat in your wallet?

In case anyone in the UK hasn't watched this online yet, it'll be airing on Channel 4 on New Years Day at 9pm GMT
Wouldn't be surprised if that airtime was influenced by White's special that aired on Christmas day.

Congratulations to the winners! Better luck next time. ;)

Playing Card Plethora / Playing Card Close-Ups - Guess the Deck
« on: December 20, 2013, 12:16:42 AM »
So, recently I pledged for a portable macro lens (to be used with smartphones) via Kickstarter. Their company is called Easy-Macro, and their lens arrived about week ago. However, it arrived cracked, so they kindly sent me another one. So, I currently I have two attachable macro lenses for my Galaxy S4.

THE POINT IS: I am now able to take incredible close-up (macro) shots of practically anything. One day, I sat down with a playing card and began to examine its intricacies. I've taken some pictures that I would like to share with you guys. If you'd like to request any particular deck, I'd be happy to.

So, can anyone guess what this deck is?

(Sorry for the apparent distortion, adequate lighting is a bit of a issue when your camera is centimeters away from the object your capturing.)

Hope you guys enjoy! :))

Fabulous news for TheDiscourse. I'm a huge fan of Lee Asher and am astound with what Tom Dawson has in store for this site. With Lee actually on the site now, we'll have someone to confirm those Jerry Nugget releases that happen every year. ;)

Not to mention he spelled "Madison" wrong..."Medison" - could be a pronunciation error.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Pressers Deck from Ellusionist

The are a very unique deck, compared with Ellusionist's average take with dark and majestic playing cards. It's interesting to see them step into, sort of, D&D's realm, with their turn at a classical deck of playing cards.

Alex's Stash sold out around 40 minutes. I was there when it happened...

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Dan and Dave: Mystery deck V2
« on: November 30, 2013, 02:23:53 PM »
What's funny is the fact that D&D prices these decks at an astounding $10, when mystery deals like these are usually cheaper, as to entice comsumers and increase popularity. I know this store at my local mall where they have a mystery back worth double the price you pay for, simple because you don't know what you're getting. They need to work something out.

They're probably basing their prices on a few factors: cost of the decks, cost of warehousing the decks, cost of wrapping materials, cost of employees to do the wrapping, increased shipping costs from last year and the high demand for last year's offer.  I'm not saying I like it, but I am saying that it's the probable cause for that price increase.
Don't forger the price of the imprinted wax.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: [NEW] White Luxury Crown Deck by The Blue Crown
« on: November 29, 2013, 01:47:37 AM »
I was hooked when I saw the prizes. i lost my interest when I found the methods at which they had to be obtained by. With consumers like us, I think companies need prize tiers to keep customers, like Ellusionist. With that being said, I do like their three releases. They're quite interesting.

46
Ellusionist just teased on their FB page that they'll have a huge sale on Cyber Monday, with up to 70% off selected items, with a new deal every 15 minutes. Sounds very interesting. :))

47
These decks are cool in that it's a great homage to Bruce Lee, and the cards look actually pretty cool. However, the $15 price tag is killing me. Combine that with D&D's $5 shipping, the deck really isn't worth it.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: [NEW] Black NOC's by The Blue Crown
« on: November 28, 2013, 09:17:22 PM »
The deck looks cool, but the creativity is a bit lacking. I've felt the same way about the whole series, but that's just me. It can be easily obtained through other companies, whether well-known or not. I actually have a deck, which I did a review on, that looks exactly like these Black NOC's, obtained from makeplayingcards.com. Simplicity is nice, but too simple is too little. I'm more of interested in a deck like the Rounders: simplicity remixed.

It's interesting to D&D approach with a deck inspired from Bruce Lee. I remember Zenneth Kok doing something similar as well. Not a deck, but a t-shirt.
