So I just won an auction on ebay for a sealed deck of cards, I also won an auction a few days back for the same deck but a used one. I dont know much about the deck other than the company who had them produced, I dont know the limit or the company who manufacters them either but I do think the box looked too good imo to pass up on, so I'm taking a risk buying 2 decks but they weren't expensive. Just for fun, here's a cropped pic of the box, any guesses what they are.....

it appears to me that this may be an older deck?
eliminates the casino cards option because i don't recall seeing any casino decks printing "poker deck" on the box.

I'm dont think it's a vintage deck, I cant be sure but I think they were released within the past 5-10 years or maybe even earlier, I'm not sure though, when I get them maybe there will be more info on them.

We have so many card collectors on here searching the web for decks so maybe someone would've seen them before or maybe even have them.

by older i meant within 20 years. i don't consider those vintage.

any clues? doesn't even have to be pictures, textual hints would be kind!

I still have no idea what the deck is. From VortexHead's description, there is no manufacturer information on the box or the cards, so it is not a USPCC deck... maybe it was not made by US manufacturers. dang.. how could a deck escape from our crossfire?

Here's another snippet, I really should have received these by now as they were sent out on Monday but hopefully they'll come tomorrow otherwise it's an agonising wait until Monday. I dont actually know what the back looks like yet so I'm eager to find out. It will be kind of amusing if when they do come I hate the back design and the feel of these.

Well, it's my turn. The following are the pics I took 2 days ago. Opening the package was like peeling an onion, there were 6 layers. But it is a fairer quiz to guess the name of the decks.

There are 6 decks, the 2 dark green ones are EATCT v1. Then what are the other 4?

@jmrock, they are not incredible and you know I only value the 727 and Playboy.

I already have many Golden Nuggets including the Atlantic City edition. I got this set simply because of its mint condition. The tin box might be the best one I've ever seen on eBay so far. The former owner had a full case of these from the '70s (he even had all the buses that went to Atlantic City), but gave them all away for years. This might be his last one or two sets.

Although the box says 1977, they should be produced in the 2nd half of the '80s to my knowledge.

I like the original Aristocrat 727s much and was lucky to have the chance to get the Back No.1. Unfortuantely its former owner is not a card collector and there's no story about this deck. The 1-pack tax stamp denotes 1940-1965, however, the range can be narrowed to 1955-1965 according to the cellophane. Well, from now on I will have to look forward the Back No.2(s) to complete my Aristocrat 727 collection.

The Bicycle Playboy, you know, it is attractive and collectible ;-)
Other decks in the pic are also good, but... just got them for collecting. I will use the Tahoe and V.Slims to see if they are so good as people usually say.

I'm guessing maybe its because of shipment issues? I've had problems with that, some sellers refused to ship internationally, even as insured packages.

After some hassle I've managed to get these decks, I'm getting a couple more in the next couple of weeks, probably the most difficult deck to find any information on. Here are some photos I took, they are produced by Carta Mundi for Ted Baker, the only info I could find about these on the net was a flourishing video that was done by Chris Webber back in 2010, here's the link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPpP69j-IHo The cards Chris is using are also Ted Baker cards produced by Carta Mundi and have a smooth finish and sharper edges than most decks, this is what my decks are like. I called Ted Baker to ask for any info on them but all they could tell me is that they were produced and given away free a number of years ago.

Some people wont like the design but I really do, the smooth finish feels like Aladdins but they clump together more easily, I tried fanning powder but dont like it so I'm playing with them alot to get rid of it. As you can probably tell the edges are sharp and so using them for flourishing is kind of painful at times but Chris said he broke them in alot so that's what I'll do. Here's are some photos then.............

Yeah not a huge fan of that deck. The backs are interesting though. I like that style of design. It's strange to see cards that don't have rounded edges.

Lol, I guess it's an aquired taste, these are truly a gem. I wouldn't have bought 4 if they weren't. Really nice cards at a cheap price. You have to get used to the edges though, ouch

They are very similar to the smooth finish Ohio Aladdins but thinner, I would say if your into magic just stick with bikes or whatever you like as these aren't special in that department but they are great for cardistry, well so far, check out the link I posted, Chris is using the same deck with a different back, they hold together extremely well. Carta mundi produce them and I've only really used their Caesars palace deck (which I love) but these feel great also, some people prefer uspcc and I do to but these imo were a great find.
