Hi Everyone,
The Clipped Wings Kickstarter page will go live this Thursday, March 20th, at 12:57 pm EDT!
March 20 is the first day of Spring, and 12:57 pm EDT is the moment the Vernal Equinox occurs.
The campaign will have 2 early bird rewards:
1. A signed deck
2. A signed deck + a signed uncut sheet
To Don: should I create a new thread in the Playing Card plethora page, or will this thread be moved there?
Have an alarm set for these!! How many Early bird slots for the signed deck will there be?
Thanks!
Why are so many cat themed decks getting created on kickstarter. I first thought it was a smart idea because people who are fanatical about cats buy all sorts of unnecessary cat related material. Now I think its getting a little stupid.
Congratulations, Lotrek! Grotesque is a beautiful deck
"It's a solid, but it's juicy. It's a contradiction!"
(Couldn't resist. It's a reference to the current TV ad campaign in the US for Starburst candy. You can probably find the videos on YouTube.)
I mention all of that because yes, it's beautiful, but also yes, the modern meaning for grotesque is anything but beautiful. You did a fine job on this and the UC forum should be proud of it.
Not using HOPC this time?
1:1 Art prints will definitely be part of the campaign, and I'll give backers their choice of card.
No reason on Earth they couldn't be part of any showings you have for the originals, right? Just thinking it would be a good way to make cash.
As long as you also make a compilation art book when all your paper-cutting art decks are completed!
Seriously, it's a great idea - it would serve as a companion not only to the deck but to the showings you have for it in galleries. In your shoes, I'd consider making a book for each deck before it becomes a deck, in order to sell them at those showings I mentioned.
Speaking of which - do you keep the originals, or do you sell them?
In all seriouness though, has anyone kept a tally on all the Cthulhu, steampunk, zombie, etc., decks? I honestly want to know how many decks cover the same themes.
You REALLY want to know? I had no idea you were a masochist!
My answer to your question is "Way too many!"
