Up for auction is a deck of Blue LTD playing cards from Ellusionist. Yes. Blue. The first edition of this deck was rare, red and extremely sought by collectors. Originally available as a holiday promotion, the red deck was printed in a run of about 5,000. As for this blue deck, it's a little different -- it is the only one of its kind. It is a prototype deck for an unlimited blue version of the deck.
There's a running joke that Ellusionist makes more Limited decks by accident then we do by design. It's funny - because it's actually true. After listening to customer feedback, working with our designers and speaking to USPCC, we have decided to redesign the Sultan Republic deck. From the back design, to the box - even the name, the Sultan Republic deck just became the next in Ellusionist Limited Decks - with only 10,000 printed. We've already sold through over half that stock, so if you haven't yet picked up a deck (or three) - you'd better get in soon. Once our currents stocks are depleted, they will never be reprinted again.

This is a brand new deck concept that has never been done before by the USPC or anyone else that we know of. De'vo has created the world's first Comic Deck series! 5,000 decks huh? And just a simple color change from an existing deck. Hmm. If that sells out in a day like the red one, I'll be really disappointed if Aurum takes weeks or months to do the same. The verve dck is very nice, one of my favorites, but we already have a nice version of the deck. Making it blue is underwhelming.
Doesn't seem like too many companies are pursuing originality in cards anymore...or maybe I'm just jealous...
(If it hasn't been made clear yet, I am not a big fan of simple color swaps and the way people act like a new color is the greatest thing since sliced bread)
You are just mad that since the Tendril deck successfully combined every color under the rainbow there is no color you can swap it to
I was actually quite surprised it went out as fast as it did. Glad I got my hands on some. I'll be waiting to see how they handle.
You were SURPRISED that a release of only 720 decks sold out that fast - when people had practically no limit on the amount they could order?
