If you buy riderbacks, you can as well save some money and buy bicycle seconds, or Aviator-seconds. Cost under a dollar.

While i realy like the design, although the horses on the back seem to be too bold and missplaced, reminds me somehow of whiskeybottles.
The design on the Ace of Spades looks much better, thats how the back should be done. Might be just me.

But what makes a pass on this one for me is, that i find that using Standart-Bicycle-Stock and Aircushionfinish has nothing "premium"-quality to it.

For a 11dollar-deck i expect a premiumStock and magicfinish.

looks good, complete custom deck. Cant wait to see the backs.

Sorry, have to explain better.
I bought the VintageDesign New Fanback. The have a nice finish and stock, and the design is timeless and appealing. The finish is not as slippery, and they last a long time. The box can be used as a "vintage-holdout"
You get them for 28dollars a brick on ebay, that makes  2,33 per deck.

Bees are my prefered due to the stock. I use the standart-Bee-Casinograde- cards, but mainly for practicesession, or pokerdemonstrations and 3 card-monte. You can get them for 2-3dollars.

Riderbacks are Ok-cards, you cant do much wrong with them, but in my hands, they last a week, and then they warp too much. I prefer to spend a little more and have a longer lasting deck.

Markets always keep changing. Compare it with the gamesindustry in the 80s. When people realized how much money you can make with games, everybody who could write a code, brought out games, making it impossible for consumers to tell good from bad. As a result there were too many games, and too many shitty ones, and the gamesmarket broke down, and it took 20 years for them to come back.

I see that poeple put cards on kickstarter, just copying other peoples successful ideas. When there were less decks, bought anything that came out. But now, i will buy less decks than i used to, and only the ones that i guess fit my style and preferences.

What is the thickest stock on USPCC cards ?
(apart from Ghosts)

Its a common thing, that people get accustomed to changes. Imo, decks were getting worse, and now are getting better again. Reason being to reduce manufactor-costs, the best finishes are not being produced any more.

When i go through my old decks, especially the old  ellusionists UV500s and Ohios, the new decks still cant hold up to durability and feel.
Lucky me i still have a bunch, but they wont last forever.

Man, and i can only imagine how much better the decks in the 70s must have been.

Daniel Madison said on "Revelations" to get some, before they are all gone.
So, is it going to be a limited release??

i d go with the sultans, cause i liked the pips.

1800 is a unique deck, but it handles very bad, and all in all its just another standartdeck with a change in color.

The vintage plaid is great for poker, magic, handels smooth, and looks good. so i go with te Vplaid.

No matter how much i love Artifice, seeing the 7th versio of the same deck, feels like ive been eating my fav dish every day, it starts getting boring. They got so much designtalent, its time for a new series to keep customers interested, or at least me.

My favorite are still the red artifice, black and red seems to be a great combination.
I like white playing cards a lot, just for the artifice -series i find the backs a little bit boring, when compared to the other colors.
I m actualy curious if the faces will be strictly black and white as well, with red and black pips.

Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Re: 10 non gimick tricks you should hve
« on: April 02, 2013, 02:28:24 PM »
Ahem - isnt a traditional cut exactly what you want for easy faroing?

Noone seems to name any tricks, There are even selfworking tricks that play out very strong. The strongest tricks are always those which involve the spectator.
so heres what you wanna learn if you want to be remembered  :D
Just from the top of my head heres what i do impromptu

multiple revelations 3-5
transpositions, a la Tivo 2.0
Shufflelesson or unshuffled
Card under box Or ACR
any card at any number

Include at least one flourish at the beginning, and one flashy move, like a card flying/popping out of the deck.

i m with you on this one. The inital idea and design is very appealing, but the indizes-placement and identical characterdesign is a dealbreaker. With a few extrawork, this would be an easy fix.

at least the courtcards could have some colordifferences, so one can tell them appart more easy.

I think, that the Gold-certificate-box looks killer. I actually like the boxdesign and colorcombination a lot more than the backdesign itself.

Tough call,
D&D decks are beautiful and unique, handle great, but i would go with the splitspades, the backdesign is my all time favorite, and it has so many interesting features to discover, that it feels overall more interesting.

Deck Reviews! / Re: How are the 1$ casino decks?
« on: March 28, 2013, 10:01:12 PM »
When you buy those decks in lots, you can get uncanceled. I bought Aristocrats and PlanetHollywood, and they were as good as new.

Canceled decks that have corners cut arent very recommendable, i only use those for practicesessions.

Yes, i can share it, since you could accomplish the same effect with some preparation.
Basically the faces are rough, and the backs are smooth. So it is an impromptu rough and smooth deck. The nice thing is, i personally would never use any rns-deck, but this one i will.

Playing Card Plethora / Bicycle Cupid Back Gold
« on: March 28, 2013, 01:35:52 PM »
Hi,

Does anybody know who put those decks out, and how many were produced?
i bought some Bicycle Cupid Back Gold for my collection. So i only bought 2. After playing around with them, i found that they have a unique handlingcharacteristic, that no other deck i know of have, and that aply awesome for some impromptu magic-effects.

So, i would be interested in marketing it, although im still testing, but i would be of interest to talk to the person, who put them out.

Thanks in advance.

« on: March 28, 2013, 01:26:15 PM »
Hey guys, what an awesome platform. I am Armin Peter, born in germany, but living all over the world, traveling for 3 years now, and all i care about having in my suitecase are my coins and my decks of cards.

I am magician and search for the "perfect" pack of cards that suits me, my magic, in style, handling, and durability. Still buying loads of decks, havent found it yet.

anyways, hope to fit in here, and can contribute something to this community in the future.

Cheers
